Ah the good old days It's great to see these old films appearing and know how some of these guys evolved into 90's and beyond pulling. it also says a lot about the strength of a 1950 and 60's tractor back end from a 50hp Fordson Major when they put up to 1200 hp through them, before they started tossing their cookies ! even years later guys are still using them in pro stock tractors after years of abuse on farms. I still remember going to one of the very first pulls back in Buckinghamshire in the late 70's, and sitting on my uncles shoulders so i could see. I'm 49 now and have been hooked on pulling ever since. I even got to build my own Tractor for fun pulls before I moved to Canada in 2000. I still have my original Belarus tractor with a v8 Perkins fitted and 6 cyl Major I shipped with me to Canada i'm going to hopefully restore the Major and do some antique pulling with here to, now I have more spare time to do it.

Thanks for the memories. Mick Cushing on Snoopy. He used to bring it down to the pub. Brilliant machine and jeez did the ground vibrate when she was pulling the sled for yet another full pull.

Yes I spent many hours watching at that track during the town and country and the Royal show . You know you're old when your parents could leave a 10 year old watching on his own without being kidnapped. Or you remember seeing starlight express having half a scrap yard worth of Jag car engines L.O.L
