As an owner of a stock Mk7.5 with 6speed, I ran across information online about crank-walk issues, due to upgraded clutches. Any concerns about this on your car?
Crank walk can happen on a stock clutch regardless. It’s a pre-disposed issue if your car was manufactured to be so, changing the clutch out won’t change the randomness that some of these cars will eventually be a victim of crank walk
@@_.Zen0_ It shouldn't be an issue. But, with a less than desirable thrust-bearing on the clutch side of the crankshaft, the force of the clutch presses the crank sideways (normal) without a stout thrust bearing design, and the crank can end up shifting laterally over time and cause some catastrophic issues. The stronger the pressure plate and clutch, the more force when you shove the clutch in to shift. That's the theory anyway. I truly don't know how common it is although I've read about it. Evidently VW hasn't built the most stout thrust bearing design to deal with it in the manual transmission cars. DSG isn't an issue.
