Dimash is a 29-year-old Kazakh vocalist and composer; He speaks Kasakh, Russian and English and is learning Mandarin Chinese. He sings in more than 14 languages, plays 7 musical instruments. This song is a pearl of the French songbook: It is a French-Canadian cyberpunk-rock opera called “Starmania”, written in 1976 by Michel Berger (France) and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Canada) and immortalized in the voices of Daniel Balavoine, Diane Dufresne and Gregory Lemarchal. The theme of the song is depression: In the 2021 version, Dimash faithfully and brilliantly presents a sentimental and melancholy interpretation! He gave a wonderful concert here in London in 2018, and has got even better since (unbelievable though it might seem!). He turns 30 in May 2024 and has two forthcoming concerts, one on 4th May in Budapest and the second on his birthday, 24th May in Istanbul. I can’t wait to see him again in Budapest!

Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest technical vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Dimash Qudaibergen (di-MOSH Koo-dye-BEHR-gen) is a talented artist from Kazakhstan who began his formal training at the age of 5. He is professionally trained in opera, contemporary music, and musical theater. His diverse discography includes genres such as pop, R&B, EDM, rock, folk/traditional, neo-classical, opera, and even rap and hip-hop with a vocal range of 7+ octaves: C1-D8(which doesn't exist on a standard 88-key piano).

Dimash is the most versatile and technically outstanding singer there ever was on this planet. 🌍
He has a huge range and manages to control almost every part of it equally well. You won’t find other singers that can produce both deep and high notes this powerful and clear. And he sometimes switches techniques and styles not only in the middle of a song, but also in the middle of a phrase or a word. Everything sounds effortless with him, even the most ridiculous runs, staccato notes or whistle notes. 🥰
At the same time he sings very emotionally and is also a humble and and loving human being. (I know it sounds too good to be true, but just keep on reacting, and you’ll see for yourself. 😉)

He learned quickly and as he grew older, he learned to play instruments as well, like the piano and the dombra. As the years passed, he sang very well and became well known and loved in his country. When he was invited to sing in another country, he became a singing sensation and needed bodyguards to ensure his safety. His popularity quickly grew and he was discovered by the entire world and soon became a legend at an early age. He now endears his fan's love, as well as they endear his, as his music reaches far and wide throughout the land to men and women of all ages. His voice and his music will endure the annals of time and all will embrace the journey of the boy they call Dimash.

Dimash is a man set apart from everyone else, and although that might seem to be hype, it really isn't. It's not just the vocal performance and stage presence (always superb), or the band (brilliant), or the wonderful stage sets (magnificent), it's the way he makes you feel. He surprises, he electrifies, he gives you goosebumps, he delights, he soothes, he can make you breathless and bring grown men and women to tears. There is just something special about him that can't be defined. I think you need to see a lot more Dimash to be able to experience any (or all!) or those things.
I'd highly recommend you react to Sinful Passion next, then Stranger (New Wave Sochi), Adagio (The Singer 2017 version), and Olympico live in concert (you can find it the right one on Igor Krutoy's channel, it's the one with the circle of lights in the thumbnail). The Olympico on Dimash's channel is good but doesn't have the same power as that particular live version with the ring of lights and the audience. It's like he rises to his full height on that stage. He's already an impressive 6ft 4inches - but on that stage he's like a warrior. Man you're going to love it. I can't wait! 💥

Welcome to the world of Dimash. Found him in 2017 and literally never ever do I miss a day of listening to Dimash. This is the tip of the iceberg. He will do different genres, different languages, different voices etc and often in one song. For example, this song from a rock opera in French. His latest When I've Got You, is an MV where he is a vampire and it mixes blues with R & B and is in English. Few weeks ago it was an opera duet with Placido Domingo. You never know what you are going to get but what you can count on is perfection.

Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of daily hard training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads, RnB and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country (and he still does). And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard.
He sang this song as a guest at the Slavic Bazaar in Belarus 2018. It’s an International Festival of Arts and a contest for young singers, which he won in 2015.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.

Dimash is singing SOS by Luc Plamondons a French-Canadian lyricist which he wrote in collaboration with the composer French Michel Berger. The rock opera is called Starmania, and includes SOS about an “earthling" in distress. The national animal of Kazakhstan is the golden eagle .

This is vocal gymnastics the likes of which I have never heard before. Wonderful voice and the feelings he is feeling are evident. He is inside the song.
