Absolutely amazing to say the least. Many thanks to everyone who has donated their precious time to build what one see's here in these video's. A credit to you all.
I can't get over how real this looks. The way the layout's landscape merges with the backdrop is beautifully done and the attention to detail is very, very well done. I would love to see some videos on how the landscaping was done. The mountain formations look so real! Nice work!
This has got to be the most detailed layout I've ever seen. Even the weathering and graffiti on the railcars is much more realistic than what I've seen with other layouts. There were times where I thought I really was watching an actual Southern Pacific train. Well done!
Awesome Model Railroad. I love the modeling of the mountains and hillsides of Klamath County. I could not tell the difference between the real and the model scenery of Eastern Oregon. I loved the snow storms.
I'm telling you these guys know how to do it! No doubt about it, they bring Model Railroading to life with the effort they put into the Scenery!!!! Great Job!
Impressive layout you have there. I greatly enjoyed the intricacy you have put into the detail and scenery. You have done a marvelous job on capturing the realism of scenery.
Madness and fantastic facilities, wonderful speed of the locomotives'm speechless, well done! thumbs up ! greeting from the sharp blades Solingen, Germany Harry
This model train layout rocks man :) you did a good job of painting the background and the mountains, forest and the trees look so natural and beautiful, its almost like you dont need the train there lol :) but the train does add some realism to the whole scenery
Dear Mr. Mcload, Jr. Thank you for the kind words. Responses such as yours encourage us to redouble our efforts. And, yes that is a T-Rex you saw. The layout was built by the folks at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum at the Greeley Freight Station (GFSM). Credit for the layout all goes to them.
It's rare to find a video without one scene where I can notice something overlooked. This is one of those videos. Criticisms of this layout are from people having a bad day. What are the red barrels on the trestle at 7:37 used for?
Excellent layout, shame the ‘on track’ illusion is spoilt by the track pins. The solutions I use, is to the cut the moulded spikes of the web of the track and insert a model spike. Takes the same time and you don’t have the track pin. I have been doing this for about 40 years. Living in humid Brisbane, Australia I have had no problems on numerous layouts.
Why does every model railway of size have to have its version of the world's tallest or longest (or both) timber trestle?! No railroad running trains with five modern diesels on the point would keep such a structure in operation! They're too weak, take too much maintenance, and the creosoted timber can easily burn. It's a really unbelievable eye-catcher when you're trying to be realistic elsewhere on the railroad.
This is because the OC&E actually HAS a big long wooden trestle - built in 1917, and still in use as part of the OC&E Woods Line State recreation trail. The OC&E used this line until 1990, bringing it into the era of "modern diesels."
No, shame on you for saying anything other than "Excellent layout". And by the way, your solution compromises the integrity of the track webbing, leaving it unstable.
Absolutely amazing to say the least.

A credit to you all.
One of the most realistic layouts I've ever seen. Wonderful attention to period and detail.

Nice video! Hope you include some interviews with the builders . . .
Absolutely perfect modelling and filming. If I was younger. fitter and free to do sou would make a trip from New Zealand just yo see it all.
You still can, Ray. That fastest Indian guy, Burt, I think, did it several times. 🍻
Awesome, 5 stars
Incredible, is that T-rex or Godzilla on the hillside at 9:36. Your layout is the best I've seen, well done.

What are the red barrels on the trestle at 7:37 used for?
They are water barrels to be used in case of fire.
Klasse!

Gosto muito de trens, obrigado por lembrar de minha infancia. O Brasil precisa aprender a usar o trem, para que possamos baratear o frete.

That wasn't a real train?
Well Done EXTRA 99****
