Ffestiniog Railway: Porthmadog - Blaenau Ffestiniog, September 2024

The Ffestiniog Railway is a 13.5 mile long, 1 ft 11.5 in narrow gauge heritage railway connecting the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, with the harbour town of Porthmadog. Originally opened in 1836, and closed in 1946. Restoration started 8 years later, with the line reopened through to Blaenau Ffestiniog in 1982.
In this first part, we board our train at Porthmadog, hauled by Double Fairlie Merddin Emrys, and climb our way on embankment and through tunnel, to the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.
