Kate is totally brilliant. I am a fifteen year old girl and Kate inspires me so much. She, herself, means so much to me. When i feel sad or happy i always find a song by her that matches the emotion. I am exploring her work now and I am always blown away by how genius this woman is. Oh, Thank you, Kate, that you are.
You're so lucky to know her music at 15. I just discovered her at 27 and really wish I had known about her sooner. She's one of the most talented and creative people in popular music history without question.
I remember hearing Wuthering Heights and Kate Bush for the first time in 1978 in a sunny garden in Ireland: I'm listening to some of her old tunes now, overlooking an old, Victorian graveyard in London. Her music still sounds great.
@@edmundpower1250 oh I did not, I didn't really find stranger things to be a series for me - but my friends did and they all started telling and texting me like: "oh my god, Edith, there's a song by Kate Bush in stranger things!" so I was so happy they remembered me in connection with Kate :D
Me too! Her voice is so calming I can see that social work would have been a wonderful alternative career choice for her if she decided not to do music. Interestingly, her music is like therapy so in essence she achieved two career goals!
it is incredible when an artist is very true about his work... for me it's amazing how she feels that's the right thing to do at this moment, the opportunity to redo some songs. i don't blame her, as some fans are doing... i agree with her when she says that all she wanted was to give a new life, something fresh to the songs.
Kate having and wanting to have fun is a statement I really enjoyed hearing. To me she gave the impression the work used to be mostly serious business. Although I always had difficulty with Director's Cut, the version of this Woman's Work really is something extraordinary. The original sort of let me cold, but this version hits rockbottom with me. This interview gave a good impression on her labour, more than other interviews, I think. Thanks for tbe upload.
Much better interviewer than Mark Radcliff's proved to be. John lets her speak and doesnt seem the least impatient to show how much he knows and yet he's clearly researched well and is willing to ask slyly deep questions...
This is one of the only interviews I've heard where Kate seemed really relaxed and could be herself. Who is the interviewer? Cant stand the Raddcliffe interviews.
I hope I get to see her anywhere in the world before I die ... I know that sounds morbid but I truly need to hear her live ... she is a audio muse to so many ...I respect her decisions for touring ...I will come to her!
If anyone has YT premium please download all the Kate Bush interviews please. They are being deleted a lot. Esp. Ones 2000 and on. Please if you do post them.
I prefer the lyrics to The Sensual World to Flower Of the Mountain, so she’s underplaying her own lyrics. Directors Cut is a bit too sedate for my liking but I put it on once in a while.
Great Interview! I think Kate is entering a new phase. Son Bertie is entering his teens, she has her own label (fish People) and she has put paid to her past "Directors Cut" . I feel Kate revealed more than she might have liked in this interview (a certain Gypsy trickiness) Which of course makes her even more interesting. I am expecting the next album to be earthier and more grounded. The "bone " thrown in as a clue.
A funny story an ex boss of mine told me (Luis Troyano from British Bake Off, as it happens, came 2nd a couple of years ago)- A friend of his was obsessed with Kate years ago and had found out where her parents live. So, he summoned up the courage to travel from Cheshire and arrived at said address. His plan was to pretend to know Kate. Up the garden path, knocked on the door, and as the door opened he managed to utter 'hello, is Kate Bush in please', just as a friend would (not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Plan failed, apparently...............can't blame him for trying :)

Did you watch stranger things when her song came on?

I could listen to Kate talk all day long 😊👍🏻

I hope Kate brings out another album, love to hear her music and interviews, I find her inspirational 🥀

Her cheeky little “might have done!” Cracks me up, you can feel her eye twinkling mischief! Love, love, love Kate! ❤

2005 WAS 1 OF MY FAVOURITE YEARS
'Bought the last Gorillaz album... y'know I'm not a complete old fart all the time'
She makes me so poud to come from Kent. :D
The new version of 'Never Be Mine' is beautiful.
One of my favourite Kate songs. Love that we have 3 different versions now.
Sensual World is a magnificent album.
Love her!

Yes, I like to hear the interview on Radio 2 also. Thank you for this upload.
Love her work. Somebody please buy her some more bone meal - we might get an album of new material by 2020!

It’s 2020... we have nothing

Kate Bush is everything
It was only the production of some songs that dated. Her own voice has always been perfect.

I liked the interviewer. Very good questions.
hope the other one is longer!
God bless her :O)
Right at the end, the guest vocalist must be either Stephen Fry or Elton John.

I was really worried that This Womans Work has been 'messed with' but phew, it sounds exquisite, can't wait for this album-only seven sleeps left!!
How do you feel now with all this new interest in Kate?
Kudos to the Bone Meal bravo!
IT'S GOOD TO KEEP TRYING T O MAKE A RECORD BETTE UNTIL IT IS BETTER EVEN IF YOU RELEASED IT ALREADY
✊
@kristo68 november 2011 actually!!!
there will be a new kate album in 2011? please tell me..

Kate's lyrics for the song are better than Joyce's
really? In 2011 all you could come uo with as an opener was WH?
Interviewer is a pillock.
Kate, leave your back catalog alone. Why rehash material you've already recorded 15-20 years ago? The original versions were the best.
@crazyclive does the old version go away if she does? If not idk why that would be a problem for anyone to get a different version.
