- The Sony A7r5 has been a pivotal camera in my career. Being a hybrid shooter, it really feels like this camera was made for someone like me. Literally my same position. The flip out screen and the ability to shoot very capable video and photos sold me on it.
Literally have had the R5 in my cart since its release. I’m running full commercial projects with x2 R3’s and a6600, and was about to cop the FX line until I saw that new screen 😮💨🌟🥹 I’d say I do 60% photo VS video so the R3’s still hanging in there are clutch but man, at this point I’m gonna have to wait to see if they add this screen to the FX or S line. Then I’d just keep the R3’s for photo only/video back ups 🥲 Otherwise I’ll finally sell the 3’s for x2 5’s. Great content! New sub here 🙌🏽
Decisions🤷🏽♂️ Yeah the screen definitely unlocked something special for me as I shoot! Also who knows what they’ll release this year!

Thank you for this lovely video. i wanted to ask if RS2 functioned fully with A7RV the focusing wheel and start stop button.

Thanks so much! I’d invest in a pro pack of presets. They’re very helpful to start with and then I’ll add my own adjustments from there.

Did you have any issues with its low light capabilities?
I can definitely see how it falls short in low light compared to my Fx3. Because of this I’ll simply just use the FX3. A workaround is to bright more lighting, be strategic on what time of day you shoot, or play with Resolve’s Denoise effect.
Do you usually shoot videos solo?
For music videos and film, I’ll always try to have someone assist me. It goes a long way to have help. For smaller scale projects, I’ll shoot solo.
Can you play that guitar that you got back there?
