It’s so funny how something that never even used to be in our lives can be so difficult to give up, but I love doing the detoxes with you. 💛 I’ve disabled my account a couple of times before, for a few months at a time, and you get so used to it. As corny as it sounds, it’s so incredibly liberating.
During the month of January I planned to go off of social media for the last week but ended up going off Social media for the last week of January and the whole month of February and it changed my life. I focused on school, my health, my mental health, and building relationships with others. Right now I'm detoxing from social media for the first week of this month because I find myself not using my time wisely and going on social media and I've noticed I haven't felt like myself lately, most likely due to social media. I will most likely go off social media for the whole month because I want this month to be full of healing and growth! Thank you Joy for all that you do for yourself and for us!

The day I get my anxiety and FOMO under control I'm definetly doing the detox! Lol also I got my heartbroken because a talking stage, that went on for a year, completely failed because of distance and I feel terrible and this video is already cheering me up

This is so precious. I have never had social media, but UA-cam can be addicting some times. Specially now during summer time while I’m off school. So do yo have any recommendations of how to spend time off the phone? Apart from your routine of workout and editing💙🙃
I think setting limits for yourself can help some people. That can be turning off your phone at 7pm or not letting yourself spend more than 1hr on screen a day. Whatever works for you ❤️❤️❤️
We sometimes get so accustomed to certain things that we can not recognize how toxic it is to us. We start dwelling in our lives that make us sick and then get stuck there. Life's tough enough, isn't it? And it could be a lot easier if we just poke around a little bit--and let go of some of the toxic stuff that's been holding you back? When was the last time you looked around at the life you've created for yourself? Do you like what you see? Or are you working yourself into exhaustion, running harder than you've ever run before, doing more than you've ever done before, collecting more toys than you've ever had in your possession?
I deleted instagram for a whole year and I feel so much better without it and I know I've missed out on a lot but at the same time I'm scared to go back and feel like shit because of other people's posts and stories!
I‘ve been downloading instagram only after 6pm and deleting it after I checked the new posts and that has been working great :) It‘s been months now and I‘m so much more productive throughout the day and way happier!
One of the 500+ people here! joining this Detox With Joy was possible the best decision I've made in a long long time. 3 things I found myself realizing this week: 1.) life is so so stupidly short and I don't want to spend that time on these time-draining apps that have no substance and don't add much to my quality of life. Also, the important stuff my friends will just catch me up on. 2.) I set a goal to do one small thing I've never done before and I accomplished that. Ended up on a motorcycle ride all around LA one of the craziest moments/memories ever, finally started my SCUBA certification program(been putting this off for about a year now), and honestly this week I've felt so alive!!!! I'll trade this feeling for any feeling I might feel from social media. (however, I did keep facebook groups, discord, and Snapchat (only chat) on my phone) 3.) Dealt with some scary shizzz going on in my mind and dealing with all the discomfort was very neeeeded! Thank you so much for this Joy!! I love this idea, and I love seeing what you get up to during your time off socials!
