For future reference, if you were really stuck with the camper... nothing wrong with dropping the trailer(make sure it's not going to float downstream) getting the car up, then using the winch to skull drag the trailer out
Looks impressive. i don't think there is any better advert for the camper trailer than seeing Zeph laughing and bouncing on the bed at the end. Who wouldn't want that?
Hello Tyler, I found out about your video's a few days ago. They are great. You seem a sober down to earth guy, just like us and other Aussies Ive met. Especially the mix between offroading and sight seeing makes me want to pay a visit some time. Over here in my country it's all flat with no mountains at all. Cheers and greetings from the Netherlands
@8.00 minutes 😂🤣😂 that look.. mate wtf are you doing?? Perfect timing and all on camera. And just before when the Mrs was sitting then launched at you, I thought ahh there's the crazy red head. I've been waiting to see a sign.. Awesome work guys... I reckon you only own a TV for editing purposes 👍👍
These type of episodes are my favourite. I like the other ones too but this is realistic for me and my kids, as my car can’t drive up the side of the Grand Canyon like your GQ. Although it probably could if I let my tyres down but you recon 80psi is the go so that’s what I do.
Good morning Tyler, I enjoyed your latest post this morning. Good work getting the camper out of the river crossing, looked like it could be pretty stressful, having done something similar a few years ago at a place called Ruby Gap near Alice Springs. We ended up entertaining some dingo's around the fire overnight until I could dig our car and camper out the next morning. good memories now but pretty difficult at the time.
What a great track. What did you learn about towing a camper of circa 2T over this terrain? One thing I realised while watching was you have to consider where the trailer is, probably more than the vehicle so you don't end up stopping or slowing just before the trailer wheels are about to go up an embankment or obstacle.
Gday, happy birthday Zephyr, what a way to send a birthday, bloody awesome, absolutely beautiful part of the world that’s for sure, thanks for the adventure mate, cheers
Nice work trying to get through the 5th crossing. Some friends and I got to the little double crossing and decided to turn back in the video it's at 4.30min in the floods have changed it all. Would have loved to see the troll and camper going up the power line lookout track,it's an absolute stunning area
Would you be able to drop me a pin for the power line lookout track. Going a few tracks in the styx river area on thursday coming up from down the coast. Cheers
Not that you would do it here as you didnt need to go there but you can use you spare tire as an anchor point in sand... need to bury it and rund the winch to it... it got my fathet inlaw above hightide mark when he was stuck on a beach in remote WA... hard work but will save the situation!
Great video mate, such a beautiful spot out there and up through Styx River. Thanks for sharing! Thought you were in trouble when you turned back towards the original side and went over a few big rocks after not being able to get up the bank, I’d have been sh&@ing myself at about that point. You always seem to keep your calm and keep trying though, good onya!
Another great clip bud 👍. We had similar happen with a 200 Cruiser and a heavy Track Shack camper trailer in Turon, soft pebbles and a change in river direction. We ended up unhitching the trailer, getting the car out and then skull dragging the trailer out with the winch. Little bit of a slower operation overall but worked a treat 👍👍 Keep up the great work mate, love the channel 🇦🇺👍
Cheers mate. As I said in the video, didn't actually need to get across the river, was the end of the track. Had fun having a couple of attempts but just went back to find camp, no need to spend hours there
@@TylerThompson90 yeah that’s it mate, if you HAD to get through because there was no other way, then it’s worth the effort but looking at that location mate, anywhere along there would be bloody awesome anyway. Looks like you had good fun either way. 👍👍
Tyler, great episode, great location, great family adventure. I’d be interested to know how you find these spots and what GPS navigation you use and/or recommend. Cheers.
Another fun filled episode, the narrative is always descriptive and you must proud of the trucks you've built both diesel and petrol variations have their good and bad but you've mad them work any thoughts to engine mods on the GU
Wishing zephyr the a happy b day mate and it’s pretty cool on his birthday use went back to where he was conceived lol keep up the quality videos Tyler 🤙🏼
You are a Blessed man to have such a Gorgeous wife and beautiful family! Better tell your wife how amazing she is every day know matter the mood! And awesome 1st Bday 🎉🎉. Also trailer tire pressure matters sooooo much in stuff like you were in, make sure to always carry enough winch extensions or other kinds of snatch straps!! God bless, stay safe, and have fun always
Maybe should've tried crossing further up the river closer to that tree so your recovery gear would've reached to winch your way out, providing the water wasn't to deep.
This is private property still yes? If it’s the same owner, really happy to see him open up again after some bad experiences with campers/4wders. Keep it clean guys =)
Not really private property, I spoke to the owner on this trip and he said legally he can't actually stop anyone coming here. Pretty sure the track is public but just cuts through his property
@@TylerThompson90 That's good to know. He did have the access gate locked for awhile after dogs attacked his cattle and campers rubbish left all over the place.
Another great trip with the fam, just wondering why you didn’t use your treds to get up that bank, after you aired down again? I know we are all experts when watching, great you guys are still getting such warm weather, it feels like bloody winter here in NZ 😂 it’s great to see Zeph has taken to camping so well, best way teach em young, hell def follow in his Dads and Moms footsteps, be a 4wd blogger one day, 🤘🔥
Could have always taken off the trailer, drive the patrol up the bank and then winch the trailer up? But anyways your a very lucky man, beautiful video cheers.
As I said in the video, didn't actually need to get across the river, was the end of the track. Had fun having a couple of attempts but just went back to find camp, no need to spend hours there

What a great video, family camping on a river and exploring, it doesn’t get much better than that. That sand bank would require at least 2 led whips to make it up with the trailer 😅. 😂😂. What an awesome are to explore. 👍

Unhitch the trailer, dirve the car up then winch the trailer up. Use maxtrax for drawbar skid.
Thanks for taking everyone on your adventures guy's. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your vlogs

Great video mate. I love the family adventure vibes.
Used buckets of water once towing a toy hauler through a sandy gully, by tipping it in the wheel ruts to harden the sand n keep me on top.
Seth's so cute. Happy 1st Birthday to the little fella, looked an amazing spot to celebrate Tyler 🎉😁🎂🙏
Awesome adventure... such a beautiful spot/river. Great video 👍👍
Great Video,
Always love seeing this area during nice weather.

Great vid mate, excellent shooting, editing and driving
Nice one mate!
Good video with your family, could not make out the river or track that, you was on ,any chance you may tell what track you was on.thanks.Ann.
For easier river/sand crossings, you need to SUPER inflate tyres!! More air, more floatation.
Such a happy little camper Zephyr is, appreciate you showing us some of your family time ❤❤

Those pizza looked bloody yummy, hey happy birthday Zeph
Another great video well done have a question where did you get the pizza oven that goes on top of darche fire pit send me link
Thank
He says it in the video, Drifta stockton fire pit and drifta stockton pizza oven. They are pretty good for camping we have one too 👍👍.
Thanks
Never late in a forty-eight! Love it.
Happy bday buddy. What great spot
Another great episode mate.

Mike when you haven't got a tree do the whole put your spare tyre in the ground and there's is your winch point 👍⛏️🇦🇺😁
Good try. Ground anchor would do it IMO.

Yes, please tell me you lowered them also.
Welcome mate 👍 Trotting around my backyard. Need any help or tips etc, let me know.

Are the treds for decoration are they that to me didnt make sense ???
He’s a smiley lil bugger! 😀
Think I’d be taking some pet fencing to put around fire pit, hate for the little one to burn his hands 🔥🔥
Awesome video
Gorgeous
Nice spot Georges Junction and the drive their is awesome along the river
Great video again mate beautiful area how far is it from Brisbane
Would Max tracks have been an option?

Water was too deep up there
How much longer you got the opus for? Will you go back to swags or RTT when you give it back? Think was on loan?
No set timeline on returning so see what happens when we get there eventually. Currently in Tassie with Demi & Zeph and sleeping in swags

What mount are you using for your GoPro at around 25.17 ?
Dude you have a set of max tracks on back. They would got you over the top on that second attempt on the angle getting up…..

Too much revs. Let tyres down. I'm not there. All straps work as extensions. Great video. Well done and Thanks.
Has the air pump on the Opus failed yet. ?? If not it won't be long.
What tyres you running ?
Maxxis RAZR
You spent your last night at one of my fav spots and exactly where I camp H#@+$ F/@+ well done mate 👍

Maxtraxs…could that have helped?
You have lockers-straight lines always use them when alone😂full open wheeler front and rear=unlocked useless
Should of disconnected the trailer at the water edge get the car up and winch the trailer up the hill
Awesome road trip with your family mate, happy birthday to the young fella l. Great spots you camped at too
Should of buried your spare tyre to winch off😅
