3:12 This is awesome with the tracks. I’m working on a 1/35 scale Panzer 2 and I’m having to glue one by one individual track pieces together to make the whole track. Bit of a tedious process to do
This is a retooling. Which is very awesome, detailing is awesome and if it goes together like it's predecessor. And the extras are awesome.... I built it's predecessor in the early 80s
Hi Andy, got one on my desk and look forward to do a comparison between all the new once - Academy - Tamiya - Takom - Dragon... Anyway it's important not to fall into the narrative of the training tank story. Jentz has written a lot about this. And its a common mistake as during the planning the first series (A Type) was build without the turret and therefore upper armour to be used as driving school chassis. To remark Germany was not allowed to have tanks after WW I and all what was done had to be top secret. Looking at tanks of the same time you have the AMR-33, the Lloyd Light Tanks, the CV-33 and so on. Nothing like the B1 already developed in mass production. Looking at the numbers produced of the A and B version it was a massive production for a country that only started to build tanks. For the German Army it was the decision to build fast a tank force and not to wait for funds in a not certain future. Panzer I was regarded totally as a capable battle tank, when it was developed. Cheers from Germany
Hi Andy, this looks to beca really great little kit, would li,e to see it parked next to either a Panther or Tiger, looking forward to your build video, best regards from Australia, Les
I read that at the end of the war that Germany changed the white pained cross to a red paint cross realising the white cross made a super target point for the allies. Further info welcome.
Depending on sources, the brown camo was used on most Panzer 1Bs during the Polish campaign, though have photos of some in all gray - depends on unit. Also, have photos of green/brown camo applied to the gray as well.
It’s not simplified at all. It contains all the detail the 16th scale Takom offering does. Just wow. Everything to scale, extremely buildable the way they engineered it. Typical exquisite Tamiya.
Please, do the both Takom and Tamiya kits so we can compare them together. I'm going to buy Pz I but can't decide yet which brand to choose. I guess there is more modellers with the same dilemma.
Tamiya's new release is always so exciting. And can't go wrong with Tamiya kits.
I love the newer Tamiya kits! Everything is top quality, keyed, very well designed.
These make for great weekend builds. Btw, I love it when you do videos like this....sorely missed.🎉🎉🎉🎉
Just like getting a B12 shot, Andy.
Keep those 1/35th scale videos coming
I can’t wait to buy this and display it in my stash next to my unbuilt 38(t) and Pz2!
😂😂😂😂 2/3ds built shelfers.

This is like getting a dose of vintage AHHQ. 😊
Thanks for the great video Andy!!
Looks like a nice kit, definitely will be getting one.
you got 1:15 min of black in the beginning
it's NATO black :p
Makes me truly realise how long 1:15 feels

Nice kit. Like to see Tamiya do the Grosstraktor and STZ T 34.
I don’t know much about tanks but I really do enjoy building Tamiya tank kits. Looking forward to this one.
I'm heading to Japan in Feb, so hoping to pick up one of these at the shop. Looks like a fun weekender.
Looks beautiful, Andy
Many thanks!
Finally TAMIYA remembered that panzer I exists

@ really? Which retooling? Like from what company?
Looking good, interesting beginning
Over 20 years. Wow!
that is beautiful. thanks for posting!
Tankettes naver get enough love from our community
Jeez Andy, I just pre-ordered the Panther!
Nice little kit
Built this kit around 35 years ago!!! Fabulous little kit. New tooling looks great
_Yeah, the old Italeri kit_ *. . .*
@@letoubib21I did the old Tamiya one about 30 years ago
@@letoubib21 That wasn't bad...
@@terryvallis1436 Wasn't aware they ever did one before?

My Tamiya Panzer 1 is in the mail.
Looks good 🏅

I've been wanting to do a Pz I...I'd love to see it compared to the Takom before I pull the trigger on one!
Why did they change from rubber flexible tracks to stationary plastic tracks?
Go Andy go!!! Build Andy !!
So when was the 2 color (gray & brown) paint scheme used? Academy is showing 4th Panzer using it; Tamiya 4th Panzer isn’t-just all gray.
Depending on sources, the brown camo was used on most Panzer 1Bs during the Polish campaign, though have photos of some in all gray - depends on unit. Also, have photos of green/brown camo applied to the gray as well.
I believe right up until the end of France campaign the grey brown scheme was in place
Hopefully they'll come out with a Panzerjager-I B sometime in the near future.
Spoilers ,it does build up nicely as I got it a few weeks ago across the pond.
Nice subject
Do you build and stock 1/72 armor? I've become a big fan of late.
Any news about the 113???
_The Panzer I B was used at least till the end of 1941_ *. . .*
Longer if one counts rebuild chassis as TDs and such.

Nice as this kit - the Academy Panzer I is nicer and comes with a motorcycle. Academy's new tool Panzer III and Panzer II are tight and impressive.
Tks Andy,l hope tamiya do F 18 in 1/48 scale
I am curious Andy how does this new tooled release stack up with the Takom two in one box of the Panzer I?
Oh thank God it's not another Tiger I
Please, do the both Takom and Tamiya kits so we can compare them together. I'm going to buy Pz I but can't decide yet which brand to choose. I guess there is more modellers with the same dilemma.
Add the Italeri kit too because I don't see much of an improvement with this Tamiya kit.
Wow already sold out WHY???
Great price, probably.
@@joeshmoe9978 No I think it is not enough ordered
Andy, does anyone do a 1/16 scale Panzer I A?
I believe takom does both panzer I A and B, I see them floating on eBay on occasion
Wonder why they come out with one after Takom did recently?
_Academy has a new Panzer I B, too_ *. . .*
Because Tamiya is not making money on Takom's version 💰
For a model company a model doesn't exist until they make it themselves. That is the philosophy causing the many doubles and triples on the market.
@@flitsertheo
_Well, a little choice doesn't hurt, does it?_
@@letoubib21 Problem is that effort could be spent on developing a model that no company has ever made before.
Hobby Boss do a Panzer 1 C
It’s looking very small for 1/35 scale
Its a small tank, more like tankette.
Why does the tank commander look so huge?
because the tank is actually very small!
Stretched because they put a bigger engine in it.
Doesn't make any sense to REP a kit and not have any in stock....
They sold out but more will be back in stock in a few days.
Cool video Andy
Thank you, keep em coming .
For over a minute at the begining you have a blank video all black
FYI
Thanks I will check it out.
