One of the band members dad died. THats why they never play this song live,to emotional. When I heard this song I didnt know what it was about but i kept hearing the parts about missing him and loving him, which made me cry, it remineded me about my family which I havent seen in 3 years.Rock/ALternative/Indie songs are written like poetry and with more complex words. Thats why all the mainstream kids dont listen to them. If it doesnt talk about sex, drugs, haters or clubbing they dont undrstand.
Love the lines "I have to break down all the corners of the world, Don't heed this praise on me, I know I don't deserve it". Love em'! Then again, I love the whole song anyways, just those lines in particular.
....im not old, im 19. I think most 90's (1990-1995) kids feel like that about music now a days. My two other friends, feel the same way. The one who listens to rap thinks that rap has become even more fueled by egos and money. I sometimes get mistaken for a hispter on youtube cus of my comments on music, but I dont hate mainstream music I just hate what it represents now.
In no way am I saying that younger kids dont like these songs. Im saying that people who are around my age group are dissapointed with the young kids who only listen to club like songs. Im not against singing about sex/drugs/parties but that seems to be what all songs are about nowadays. If your lucky to have friends who listen to the same songs you do, luckky you but i have friends who call me a white boy for listining to indie (im mexican).
