- "Extra" special correspondent Steve Santagati caught up with Christian Bale to discuss his take on Moses in "Exodus: Gods and Kings," getting in shape for the role, turning down the role of Steve Jobs, fatherhood and more! The two were joined by "Exodus" director Ridley Scott.

I am able to listen to Christian Bale all day long. So smart and genuine.
I respect that parental bit a lot. That must really encourage his kids to think. Good for him.
Love Bale's interviews. Talks genuinely about his acting craft. No shallow celebrity talk.
What he said at the end of the interview, about parenting, proves how intelligent he actually is.

I think he meant 'schizo' in stead of 'terrorist' on that moment.

Wow. I think children would benefit from Bale's parenting style. It might produce some critically thinking adults instead of brainwashed, emotionally battered children.

Fennecbutt He and his family don't live in a mansion or something, if that's what you meant. Obviously they aren't poor, either, but Bale just isn't into glitz and luxury and has no need to show off. In any case, what does income has to do with teaching children to think for themselves and not simply accept the fairly common "because I say so" even from their parents?

I disagree. I don't think that's the way to be a good parent. My parents haven't raised me like that, and I've got a great head on my shoulders, and I'm firmly planted in morality. Kids are not equal to parents. You'll never get respect if you give your child all the power. Parents are not meant to be friends. They're meant to be parents.
@@thebatmanfan1309 i suppose but parents aren’t supposed to be all-powerful dickheads either. i think you and i both know bale’s parenting style is obviously a bit more nuanced then “i’m an idiot, don’t listen to what i say” but i believe his line of thinking is working towards a healthier relationship than what we’ve seen in the past with parents and children. i feel like it promotes growth rather than letting your kids walk all over you. it teaches them how to be more open, communicate their emotions and opinions, and allows clear, reasonable boundaries to made between the parent and child.
the more strict you are with your children, the more likely they are to rebel and keep secrets. all of this can be resolved just by talking to them, letting them know that they can openly and honestly communicate with you- judgement free. i agree w bale in that “because i said so” is such bullshit if you can’t explain why your rules are your rules.
I've been working as a teacher for 10 years now and Christian's way of parenting is what I long to see in every parent I've met, which I haven't. He's a great parent.

Kinda happy Christian dropped batman when a new director picked it up, also I think christian has more to offer than being batman, didn't really enjoy this movie too much, but it is solid. Great acting and ridley scott just crazy cinematography and effects, but this story to me personally is not really exciting, seen it in many forms during my lifetime and I don't feel much was added, not to take away from the performances and directing. Rather see Ridley go deeper into the universe of alien, too much untold! Also Kinda wish Bale would do a Tarentino movie or the next season of True Detective, still my favorite movie of him is American Psycho, I wanna see Bale unchained :(.

In other words, an entity that produces idolatry films produces another. They painted God as a terrible god. If I was an unbeliever I would be disgusted by such a religion, and would not want any part of it.
Personally, reading the story of moses and the flight from Egypt, that was the impression I got of God, or rather the thing Moses spoke to.

It does not say the water turned red because of the dead animals, it says moses walks in and strikes his staff on the water then it turns red.
God voice is thunderous. When he was speaking to moses he did not converse like a petulant child. Also if you really think Moses was advised by witch doctors then I feel sorry for you, because that is not in the text even in the corrupt poorly translated text.
