    For others attempting this repair , this fix can be done without removing the frame, or removing the tension. Just pull the mesh down, insert a sock or something into where the blind rolls up to stop it moving, then tilt the handle/aluminium bar 45 degrees in its recess and it can be pulled towards you to allow access to either end. Nice video though, well filmed and well explained.

      Did mine the same. Just pull the netting down then allow it to pull back at an angle, as above. The bottom rail is then easy to take out of the guides. I'd be reluctant to take any screws out of a wall board as they are very easy to loosen the "bite" of a screw. Good vid!

    I did the same repair some years ago using the same method as David Bells' comment. Keep up the good videos ;))

      Wow, even more useful than I though Martin. Our youngest lad was a little rough with the blind by his bunk. Its jammed a couple of times and I'd managed to straighten the tab to get it working. I knew I had to sort it properly but hadn't been able to identify the make of the blinds. Anyway, armed with knowledge from your video I popped down to the caravan and pulled one of the side pieces off. Removed, photographed and refitted the end piece. When I got home I ran your video again and compared my end piece to yours. It was identical. Knowing my blinds must be Remis, a quick search on Google and I have a couple of pairs on the way from eBay. Thank you very much Martin! Cheers, Jeff

    Just what I needed as my fly screen had lost tension and wouldn't go the full way up. My fly screen has some small spots of mould, any idea how I would clean them - in situ or remove/replace them?

      We have used Dettol mould and mildew remover before, spray some on a cloth or small sponge and gently wipe down the fly screen. Cheers

      If it’s the handle I think it’s connected to the bottom of the blind, try leisure shop direct for parts, they sometimes have detailed diagrams on how things are put together. Let me know how you get on. Martin 👍

    Very informative. Excellent video. I presume if you had to do the other side, the whole unit would have to be removed to access the screws?

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  5 років тому

      Hi David, thanks for the feedback. The tension screws are on the left hand side of the blind, the track on both sides can be removed without taking the head of the blind off. If you wanted to adjust the middle blind of a rum of 3 then you would have to take the blind down. Hope that answers your question. Thanks, Martin 🙂

    Did not know about the tension on one end a real help. But i have another problem on the other end of the blind is a nylon wire hanging out. It seems to move a little when blind goes up and down but theres so much slack its damaging the blind. Can any body help shoild i cut it off?

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  6 років тому

      Not sure will have to look at my van, however I wouldn’t cut it see if there is anywhere you could wind the extra string round, if you cut it you can’t add it on if needed! Hope that helps? Martin 👍

    Excellent! What an Interesting vid Martin, them parts you NEVER think will cause a problem? untill they do? you have explained and shown a way out of the problem, so we don't feel totally amiss? I feel confident that if I get this problem, it will be solved? thanks to you. (Man, I can't wait for more )
    Ma, you get to places that others don't even think about?
    PS (any tips about winter care for wheels? its too much of a problem(impossible on my van) to try and jack up the van to turn wheel around? to prevent flats?
    What do you think of Tyre Savers? (they are like block but bottom is shaped similar to a tyre , so when tyre is on them it fits bottom of tyre, to prevent flat spots

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  6 років тому

      Hi Bryn, Thanks for your comments. I have done a video on tyres which might give you more information, as for the tyre savers, I think I will get some in the near future and see how they go. They are supposed to do the trick, will let you know. cheers Martin 👍
