We’ve only gone and done it! We went to the Chinese Bazaar shop in Spain and got the exact string. €1 for 10 meters. They have white too, so gonna go back and get loads😀 ours was a little bit different, however watching your video gave us confidence. So thanks, saved us a couple of £100 quid by saving us buying a complete new unit👏👍
Brilliant. Well done. Itsca bit of a head scratcher but once you've done 1 you can do it again. Problem is after a couple of years you forget so I had to watch my own video again. Lol.
Thanks very much for sharing this. The white part of my blind had broke. Watching this video helped to understand how the thing works so I could then fix it with some new cord. Thanks Again!
We watched your excellent video and repaired our identical broken blind, Thank you for your vid, it really helped. BTW not Remis, it's Horrex Duo Plisse brand.
Thank you so much for this video. Our white blind, rather than the fly screen, is the same. I'm going to order the cord then attempt to follow your instructions. Wish me luck!
I did it! Thanks so much for your video. I was a bit worried when I had to virtually dismantle the whole blind, but I took photos at each stage. Works better than it ever did now. Won't be worried if I have to do another one.@@TheMotoroamers
Just replaced one of mine this morning using 1.5mm cord, it is easy once you have done it. Many thanks for the vid :-) Mine was caused by the net and blind cord being wrapped around each other and thus fraying over 2 years !
Great video buddy you made it look easy lol … I have a dometic panoramic skylight I need to fix the fly screen on which I’m hoping it’s the same process One thing I’ve noticed looks different to yours is I have plastic strips that slide out on those bars the fly net slides in to either end I no you say look at the old strings but in my case I bought the van like this 😂 so nothing to follow Trying to find someone to replace or repair in Yorkshire is hard bloody work too So trying it myself . I may have to drill holes in those strips I mentioned that keep the fly mesh locked in the runner bar
Hi Gloria, yes it's the same principle just different, LOL. There isn't 1 string it's 3 seperate ones. 1 for the bottom third, 1 for the middle third and 1 for the top third. If you follow the same principle for the bit that's broken you can leave the other 2 strings in place. Loadsa patience, loadsa pictures as you go and as long as you don;t have pesky morroccan salesmen wanting to sell you everything possible whilst you're concentrating you'll be OK. Let me know how you get on. Myles
I’m going to attempt this , however have to navigate the Amazon mind bender first for the waxed cord ( how to order from your Amazon account whilst in Spain and have the item delivered to an amazon locker) , if you have a video on that, please direct me to it🤣 thanks for taking the time to do this very informative video
Ah, I tried our door. Granted I had moroccan salesman trying to sell me everything under the sun at the time but cocked it up completely. LOL. Bought a new one.
Same thing happened to me but on the white 'blind' part. I watched your video but got a little confused on how the cord went. After investigating my own blind the fog lifted and it all became clear. I even video'd it. and you can see it at ua-cam.com/video/JN11JClxdA4/v-deo.html. Tensioning was the trickiest part though, as you will see.
Greetings from Down Under. These blinds are a brain bender. Thanks for taking the time to video your repair, much appreciated. Cheers
No worries. Glad it helped.

Just watched your video which was most helpful thank you for taking the time to make it . All the best from NewZealand
Many thanks for the vid. Thinking of replacing all my blinds with these so good to see how they're constructed.

The Bailey blinds are very similar and this video was a great help.
Happy days. Glad it helped.
Very Helpful. . thank you for doing this. . now going to try it before calling to replace the whole thing and save a lot of $$$$
I didn't expect it to be so popular. Lol.

It was a bit head scratchy to begin with. Lol. Good luck. Don't forget to subscribe. Loads of D.I.Y videos and plenty of adventure videos to watch.
Macgyver is lost on him. loved it and what a great fix.
No idea who Macgyver is John lol, but I fixed it.. YAY. Thought it was going in the bin. A bit fiddly but nice and simple in the end.
Great video. Feared having to buy a new one. Ours is the door, but I'm presuming its the same principle just a bit bigger. Thanks guys :)

Thanks. Another Covid project and thankfully not too many Moroccan salesmen in Northumberland at this time of year 😊😊

You are a legend sir!
Why thank you. I had to follow my own video the other week. I got there in the end LOL.
super top useful video. many thanks
I never thought it would be so useful. Lol. Glad it helped.
thank you very much you help me a lot
Great fix. We're in outback Oz and will fix 1st opportunity 👍👍
Where do you get 1mm waxed chord from in outback oz? Lol.

Can't help.you there lol but my first attempt at buying the chord was a disaster. I bought elasticated chord. Lol
@@TheMotoroamers 😀 thanks for that!
Myles our door needs doing. Any chance you fancy a trip to Cornwall. Got space for you and Karen? Carol
Ah, I tried our door. Granted I had moroccan salesman trying to sell me everything under the sun at the time but cocked it up completely. LOL. Bought a new one.
On our Remis blind the chord is through the blind rather than the fly-screen, but the principles re the same. Thanks.
Yes. The door is a little bit trickier because the chord is in 3 bits. I've cocked it up the first time but I have another chance coming up.
@chrisford2906 no worries. Glad it helped
