Pokemon is one of my most favorite Japanese anime series. My favorite song reminds me of my best friend we still haven't meet in 10 years :'( The time has come.....
This song would be perfect to play in the final episode with Ash and Pikachu. I know it's over a decade old and they most likely won't, but it just fits so well for long time fans.
The ending of this song is what really makes it sad. The "goodbye" in most of the song takes place at some abstract time. "Somehow, some day, we'd have to say goodbye." But then the ending of the song brings it into the immediate present. "Somehow today, we have to say goodbye." There's a difference between knowing you'll have to leave someone some day and the day when it actually comes.

I think what made it sad was that Pikachu didn’t really understand what was happening. He didn’t know why Ash was leaving, he just knew that he wanted to be with his friend and he didn’t want Ash to leave. Same for when Ash turned to stone. He didn’t think that Ash was dead, he thought he’d be able to wake Ash by shocking him as he’d done that so many times before.
This song hits differently now with the knowledge that after all these years of adventures Ash and Pikachu’s journey is coming to an end. Thank you Pokémon for an amazing childhood memories.
I am here now because Ash is leaving Pokémon anime. When they air the last episode of the anime, it will marks my last day of watching Pokémon anime. After 25 years of Ash and Team Rocket trying to capture Pikachu, the time has come to say goodbye.

This song has always been a big deal to me growing up, as I have dealt with many losses and deaths along the way. The song means a lot, and despite coming from Pokemon, is a very powerful song. Today, we had to put our dog down that we had since she was a baby, because of a massive tumour in her spleen that began to bleed. I am devastated and heartbroken, and though listening to this song again only makes me cry, it does speak all the words for me that needed to be said. She will be missed...

I managed to heal from the pain of this loss... but only a few months later, I lost my beloved cat, who I had since I was 9 years old... he meant considerably more to me than my dog, since he was in a sense, actually mine... but he was old, and had developed a brain tumor, so this was his only option. I do miss him, but the pain isn't as bad as it once was... and again, thank you for your words of condolence. Im trying my best to remain strong.

I lost my big childhood home in the Paradise Camp fire back in 2018. Moving out at no choice 4 years prior was bad enough. Seeing it brunt to the ground really hit hard.

Had him since August, the day I brought him home was the best memory I had of him... raised him from a year and a half and went through almost a whole lifetime together, from friends to roommates, to partners in crime, we were inseparable. When old age and illness took hold of him, and, he began declining before my eyes - it hurt to watch him go through that. He had tumors that kept coming back and one day the call had to be made. I remember the last time I ever held him in my arms before he was taken from me to be put to sleep. Dogs, they truly are man's best friend. We love them, they bring so much happiness and joy to our lives - and yet, it hurts when they leave us. If you asked me who my first real friend was - I couldn't even say his name without crying. I couldn't even say goodbye to him, not even if I wanted to. Instead of saying it, I'll just say see you later. (R.I.P Buddy)
I can't stop thinking about a friend I met in preschool who moved away in 3rd grade. I was GUTTED the day she left. It felt like a chunk of my heart went away as well and nothing will be able to fill it. It's been 11 years since I last saw her :(

Makes me think of my cat that died when I was younger. The relationship was much like ash and pikachu, not liking one another. But as time passed, we grew closer, until she’d follow to my room, and sleep next to me in the day. Then sleep in my room. She would be the first thing I’d wake up to in the mornings, but she passed away while I was gone.
