P!nk's "Glitter in the Air" performance never fails to strike me even after the countless times I've watched it here on UA-cam. It's powerful artistically, but the story behind it is even better: P!nk went on Ellen the day after that performance and she spoke candidly about how she'd never really felt the industry had taken her seriously over the years, as though many of them looked down their nose at her. Watching it with that in your mind lets you see it from an entirely different perspective. It's almost as though she were giving everyone the middle finger when she spun high above them and showered their tuxedos and designer gowns with water. That aside, nobody there in the theatre or watching it on television that night could argue her performance was anything short of breathtaking. P!nk nailed the live vocals while dangling upside down and ended it with a dramatic descent back to the floor in a pose that seemed almost Christlike. She then took a defiant bow, as though she felt she'd finally proven herself. She certainly did.
Australia was one of the first country’s to embrace pink and her music , and her and Carey come here regularly because of that , and New Zealand also , Australia went nuts for crusty demons also so Carey has a good reason to come here also

It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World performance tribute to James Brown by Christina Aguilera is one of the best live performances of all time in Grammy. The iconic shout to give respect to James Brown, the range, lows, chesty notes, falsetto, distortion of Xtina’s voice is insane. Plus you can never ignore her superior stage presence. She killed that performance and will be forever iconic in the history of Grammy Award shows ever.
She did have the best performance. BAck in 2007 after that performance, all reviews used the word "possessed" because she was possessed by the godfather of soul... watching this live on TV was amazing!!!
Her Bohemian Rhapsody I listen to daily. She’s the only one who did that song justice. With it already being iconic Pink gave the song more if possible.
I love her music hate her politics! She made that song stupid girl and I thought she had her head on straight, and I heard her talk about her parents and how she was brought up and I thought she had her head on straight. Maybe she shouldn’t talk about politics. She thinks it’s OK for teenagers to be disrespectful.

why didn't you guys mention Steven van Zandt ? He was the 4th vocalist on stage sitting right next to Dave Grohl... not to mention he played Silvio in The Sopranos
eURYTHMICs* performing in 1984 should have been mentioned.... MJ was winning Grammys and eURYTHMICs* just totally upstaged everything with a gender bending performance that shocked a lot of folks including host John Denver.... Sweet dreams were made of this, indeed!! Hozier with Annie Lennox in 2015 was a tour-de-force performance that put a spell on all that were taken to church.... Herbie Hancock took an iconic music video ("Rockit') and put it on stage with a performance that was awesomely cool....
James Ingram singing "Just Once" at the 1982 Grammy's has to be on the list. This was his mainstream introduction by Quincy Jones, and it blew the audience away, reducing Ingram to tears.
For me....MJ alongwith Mariah Carey, Xtina and Whitney Houston......is all there is to the Grammys.. as far as iconic vocals are concerned. They didn't need a full stage production...it was just them and their voices. The others are all acts....stage acts...although Pink is a good vocalist too.
Alanis Morriset's, You Outta Know, should have been on the list. I had never heard of her until that performance, and went and bought the cd the next day.
Good choices. Especially glad you included Radiohead with the Southern Cal band. HOWEVER!! Where is Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli singing The Prayer?? My favorite Grammy performance and one that moves everybody I've shown it to.
What about the tribute to George Harrison, which featured Jeff Lyne, Tom Petty, and Prince; that guitar solo he did, was speechless, just amazing. I could see George smiling ear to ear. My favorite definitely!!!
I have to admit that I haven’t watch the Grammy’s every year but the one performance that I absolutely loved was the tribut that Adele did for George Michael. It was so perfectly perfect.
Seriously??? Where is Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand singing "You Don't Bring Me Flowers"? Hands down the best Grammy performance EVER! Better than some of the crap in that Top 20.
Just came to see if MJ is the #1. I was shocked there's no Ricky Martin on the list. This guy took Grammy show over that night and he single handedly put Latin music back on world map. Not cool Mojo not giving Ricky Martin props he deserves.
Christina Aguilera's James Brown tribute - check! You missed the amazing performance from 16 year-old Alicia Keys in 2002, unfortunately. It was incredibly impressive as I remember it.
Tyler The Creator's 2020 performance should have absolutely been here. No Grammy performance has had the electricity and creativity it had. He's just not on here because he's not the A-list celebrity that all of these people are.
you completely missed Whitney Houston's performance of One Moment in Time from the 88 Grammys and Aretha Franklin subbing in for Pavoriti at the 98 Grammys performing Nessun Dorma
Christina Aguilera "A man's World" tribute was THE BEST GRAMMY PERFORMANCE ❤ The vocals, the soul, the simple but perfect look and costume ... This performance can't be topped.
Uhhhhhh...Ricky Martin's "Cup Of Life" performance not only brought the house down, but it launched an entire movement within the music industry. Shame on you for not including it. 🤔🙄🤬
Not gonna lie, the Dave Matthews Band “You and Me” performance is insanely underrated to me. Bringing all those different musicians on stage at different times, and all of them finding the timing. Just doesn’t get the due. That Pink aerial performance is beyond amazing, too.
KING MJ.. his performances and voice always melt my soul.. sings with so much emotion and passion, like he becomes the song and his body is the instrument releasing the beats.. love him!!

@@JimmieJamOfTheDay yes !! That's what l mean.
Michael Jackson is and always will be the G.O.A.T. 🙏🏻❤️🐐
Pink doing acrobatics without missing a note should have been top 2
#1 & #2. Both legendary. RIP....
why didn't you guys mention Steven van Zandt ? He was the 4th vocalist on stage sitting right next to Dave Grohl... not to mention he played Silvio in The Sopranos
"When You Believe" by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston is ICONIC!
i believe janet's grmamy performance from 1987 deserved a spot or an honorable mention. its such a excellent performance.
Janet deserves a capital J, aside from your poor sentence structure.
@@laniec20 girl its youtube not an essay
@@jmaxisfyelovin’ your work :)😂
@@laniec20 that’s why younger ppl can’t get into 80s or 90s artists. Such superiority complex from boomers is awful
Personally, Pink's Glitter In the Air should have been higher on the list.
I loved Whitney's "One Moment in Time"
A proud fan of the legend Michael Jackson. ❤Legends never die
eURYTHMICs* performing in 1984 should have been mentioned....
Annie Lennox is life. Damn is she amazing.
I was expecting Michael Jackson to be 1 on the list but I was expecting him to be on this list more than once
He only performed at the Grammys once
How in the world is Brandi Carlisle singing The Joke not on here?? That was the most incredible live performance I've seen from anyone on any stage.
ASOLUTELY! I think I played THAT back about 10 times in a row! FABULOUS!!!!
Yes - I agree 100% - I get chills every time I listen to it & the audience was clearly all in for it! 🥰
The most incredible musical performance 👍👍
You are not wrong! Seriously, the exclusion of "The Joke" pretty much makes this list illegitimate, in my opinion.
For real, Brandi has a killer voice and that performance was next level. I guess they ran out of spots after putting Beyonce on here so many times. 🙄😒
Absolutely agree, it was HYPNOTIC
Good choices. Especially glad you included Radiohead with the Southern Cal band. HOWEVER!! Where is Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli singing The Prayer?? My favorite Grammy performance and one that moves everybody I've shown it to.
If we wait 10 more years
We’ll get the top 30
Great list and I enjoyed it and have a blessed night
It was in that moment for Em and Elton that he proved appreciation, love, and respect for all people. Atleast in my own opinion.
Mariah’s 2006 performance of We Belong Together/Fly Like a Bird should be somewhere here
No. Lipsync

What about the tribute to George Harrison, which featured Jeff Lyne, Tom Petty, and Prince; that guitar solo he did, was speechless, just amazing. I could see George smiling ear to ear. My favorite definitely!!!
That was at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, wasn't it?
Where is Celine’s “All By Myself” when she swept every award that night including record of the year?!
Christina Aguilera has a powerful voice.
Just came to see if MJ is the #1. I was shocked there's no Ricky Martin on the list. This guy took Grammy show over that night and he single handedly put Latin music back on world map. Not cool Mojo not giving Ricky Martin props he deserves.
Pink put on a visually stunning performance. My fave of all time!
Kesha's,"Praying." So powerful!
Bro... 1989´s Metallica Show deserved a place in this top...not only because the performance, but also for the importance to the metal
Christina Aguilera's James Brown tribute - check! You missed the amazing performance from 16 year-old Alicia Keys in 2002, unfortunately. It was incredibly impressive as I remember it.
she was 21 in 2002....
@@britneyaguilera5620 I stand corrected. My math is quite excellent. It's just not accurate.
This music is WAY better than i thought it would be! Nice job :D
Tyler The Creator's 2020 performance should have absolutely been here. No Grammy performance has had the electricity and creativity it had. He's just not on here because he's not the A-list celebrity that all of these people are.
you completely missed Whitney Houston's performance of One Moment in Time from the 88 Grammys and Aretha Franklin subbing in for Pavoriti at the 98 Grammys performing Nessun Dorma
thank you, i was expectingto see this vocal masterpiece " One Moment in Time from the 88 Grammys" in the first spot
Wasn't expecting Eminem and Elton John to be up so high, no that I'm complaining I love that performance.
Christina Aguilera "A man's World" tribute was THE BEST GRAMMY PERFORMANCE ❤ The vocals, the soul, the simple but perfect look and costume ... This performance can't be topped.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Be serious
P!nk, Beyoncé, Whitney and Michael >>>>>>>>>>>
165: I love PINK singing Just Like Fire, Demi Lovato singing Anyone and Adele singing Send My Love (To Your New Lover)
Uhhhhhh...Ricky Martin's "Cup Of Life" performance not only brought the house down, but it launched an entire movement within the music industry. Shame on you for not including it. 🤔🙄🤬
If i remember rightly Clapton won 🏆 8 grammys for tears and 1 for layla a powerful performance 👏 🙌 👌 ❤ ✨
Kesha's praying and lady gaga's born this way or speechless/poker face/your song with Elton John should've made the list
Not gonna lie, the Dave Matthews Band “You and Me” performance is insanely underrated to me. Bringing all those different musicians on stage at different times, and all of them finding the timing. Just doesn’t get the due. That Pink aerial performance is beyond amazing, too.
You mentioned my favorite Grammy performance of all time by a mile.
It was so kind of Michael Jackson to let them do their Grammys on his concert
😂😂but true
🤣🤣🤣
Of course it was kind to with those kids.

What about Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons mashup performance ? Or Bruno Mars, BOB, Janelle Monae mashup performance? Jill's Scott and Moby performance?
Not having Ricky Martin’s performance of Cup of Life on this list is a crime. Completely mesmerized all the heavyweights in attendance and launched the Latin explosion of the late 90’s/early 2000’s to mainstream audiences. Not just his incredible performance but the impact it had on music in general.
Exactly! I am in shock that Ricky Martin is not on the list.
Xtina James Brown tribute should be up higher...
