AcDc was better than them all!
Michael Jackson
Cup of life by Ricky Martin should be on the list
The only thing that ruins this vid is your constant promo of terrible songs
glad MJ is no.1
No Ricky Martin NO like
P!nk's "Glitter in the Air" performance never fails to strike me even after the countless times I've watched it here on UA-cam. It's powerful artistically, but the story behind it is even better: P!nk went on Ellen the day after that performance and she spoke candidly about how she'd never really felt the industry had taken her seriously over the years, as though many of them looked down their nose at her. Watching it with that in your mind lets you see it from an entirely different perspective. It's almost as though she were giving everyone the middle finger when she spun high above them and showered their tuxedos and designer gowns with water. That aside, nobody there in the theatre or watching it on television that night could argue her performance was anything short of breathtaking. P!nk nailed the live vocals while dangling upside down and ended it with a dramatic descent back to the floor in a pose that seemed almost Christlike. She then took a defiant bow, as though she felt she'd finally proven herself.
She certainly did.
That was so memorable. That was a tour performance. She picked the right one.
Australia was one of the first country’s to embrace pink and her music , and her and Carey come here regularly because of that , and New Zealand also , Australia went nuts for crusty demons also so Carey has a good reason to come here also
I remember watching her performance and thought I’ve never felt closer to God nor has any artist till today has made the same circus Désolé performance
No One Can, or will Ever Beat P!NK's "Gitter in the Air" Performance! It was Freaking AMAZING! ♥️👏👏👏💪 (BTW, after Oprah saw P!NK's performance Oprah was so Amazed by P!NK's incredible performance that night, Oprah invited P!NK to be on her TV show the next day. It was Oprah TV show that you saw P!NK on the next day, not Ellen's TV show. It's actually on UA-cam).
Lies again? Google Play General Paper
It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World performance tribute to James Brown by Christina Aguilera is one of the best live performances of all time in Grammy. The iconic shout to give respect to James Brown, the range, lows, chesty notes, falsetto, distortion of Xtina’s voice is insane. Plus you can never ignore her superior stage presence. She killed that performance and will be forever iconic in the history of Grammy Award shows ever.
She did have the best performance. BAck in 2007 after that performance, all reviews used the word "possessed" because she was possessed by the godfather of soul... watching this live on TV was amazing!!!
@@kdmiranda she was possessed by all great soul singers in the past.. So much soul and power in that performance it still give me chills until now
The voice of generation
I definitely agreed. I’ve watched that more than a Michael Jackson video
the best one for me, amazing
Just knew that MJ's 1988 Grammy perf would top the list. It was broadcast from Radio City Music Hall that night. The King of Pop's ultimate showstopper made it an incredible night for music fans.
MJ was a top notch "performer" but there are so many musical artists that have more musical talent. Witney should have been #1 and Madonna shouldn't have even had a mention
@@kima3565 agreed MJ was no way a trailblazer
@@kima3565whitney was a better singer but can she perform like mj

@@gunjandas749 ELVIS and guess what? He had a biological daughter through sexual means without aid of artificial insemination and never molested any little boys!
P!nk just puts on such an awesome show. She is phenomenal in all ways!
Her Bohemian Rhapsody I listen to daily. She’s the only one who did that song justice. With it already being iconic Pink gave the song more if possible.
I agree. Pink 1st!
I love her music hate her politics! She made that song stupid girl and I thought she had her head on straight, and I heard her talk about her parents and how she was brought up and I thought she had her head on straight. Maybe she shouldn’t talk about politics. She thinks it’s OK for teenagers to be disrespectful.

"Michael Jackson: The Way You Make Me Feel/Man In The Mirror", the number one Most Amazing Grammy Performance of All Time and that takes the cake
Shouldnt be on the list just because he was a child predator and rapist
Agreed
hmm, and he thinks to get cured by those problems health by predatoring those kids... How inspiring performance. For me MJ its not exist anymore.
I am so glad that majority of the bests is still the old 90s and the early 2000s. The Mtv and Vh1 were the only channels we could watch the music. Back then Grammy Award show was something we would look forward to. Feeling nostalgic!
MJ'S performance at the 1988 Grammies gives me chills, everytime I see it 🤘💯💜
Aretha Franklin stepping in at the last minute for Luciano Pavarotti to perform "Nessun Dorma".
Absolutely!
Agreed. She took the audience to church 😂
One of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
Christina Aguilera's it's a Man Man's World is phenomenal and we will never forget.
Not only did MJ revolutionise the Super Bowl performances, but the Grammys too. The music scene. Pop music. Music videos. He truly paved the way for many artists (especially black artists) today, as their careers wouldn’t be the same without him.
Yeees!
hmm, and he thinks to get cured from problems health by predatoring those kids... How inspiring performance. For me MJ its not exist anymore.
Such a goat 🐐
✨👌💯
Yes!
Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart” in the 1984 Grammy’s was one of the most impressive performances I remember!
Both Eminem and Elton John did a great job on their performance in 2001.
It was great but I don’t like Elton’s vocals instead of the gorgeous Dido’s vocals. That performance is more about the shocking featuring than the performance itself.
@@slystone4892 It was a stunt to show that Eminem is not homophobic. Some things he wrote when he was a stupid, immature teenager surfaced, and they were anti-gay.
It was trash
I really thought Melissa Etheridge and Joss Stone's Janis Joplin tribute was gonna be in there. I would put it at #3 or 4 behind #1 Michael Jackson (no contest at #1), Whitney, and the Eminem/Elton performance.
YES!! If Michael's '88 performance wasn't #1 I was gonna be seriously pissed!!!
hmm, and he thinks to get cured by those problems health by predatoring those kids... How inspiring performance. For me MJ its not exist anymore.
For real! I was impatiently waiting for the drop!
My favorite was “Lady Marmalade” from “Moulin Rouge”. Was amazing singers and just a GREAT performance imho
Yes this one one they got right.
Yeesss!!!
Especially when Patti LaBelle came out. ❤️
Christina Aguilera's performance is iconic! I know a lot of people say it was forced and she oversung, but I thought she did outstanding. Her voice was also in its prime 👍👍👍
I can't listen to Christina for too long because she oversings EVERY song. It's just too much. She has an awesome voice, but too over the top all the time.
Agreed. She kicked ass when she performed that song.
@@SHaqq-wv9hn I agree. Mama Cher gave me some advice: Don't use the power just because is there. Guess she did not take it. Want vocal control? Kelly Clarkson is your girl.
@@SHaqq-wv9hn I wont argue with that. Yes she does tend to over sing, but at lease she has a voice to over sing with! Beautiful noise! 🤣🤣🤣
She is awesome
Personally, Pink's performance should be in top 3.
Yep!
I remember being blown away....amazing and memorable!!!
Whitney sings so effortlessly. What a legend.
Drugs will do that!
Nobody should ever sing “I’ll always love you” again. Whitney crossed dimensions with the feelings she put in that one. She truly lived it.
Christina Aguilera is so underrated, I can't even deal!!!
That performance should be higher and was so unique and amazing!!!
I agree... Christina doesn't get her due. They say Christina over does it. Who doesn't? That's why you are who you are. It's a man's man's man's world is the best performance. Should be number 1! Nuff said...
Of course Michael Jackson's performance is 1st. He took everybody to church that day; undoubtedly the greatest performer ever.
🙄🙄🙄
Yes but he didn’t perform live, still an amazing performance.
And the greatest child predator of all time
@@slystone4892 he preformed live for man in the mirror
@@slystone4892 He wanted to promote Man in the Mirror, so he saved his energy until then and to build up to his high vocals in the end. He did a strenuous dance routine for The Way you Make Me Feel, and then after a bit of lip sync in the beginning, took it home with Man in The Mirror. Added INSANE ad libs and spontaneous vocals. Literal goosebumps. He revolutionised Grammy performances, just like he did with the Super Bowl and paved the way for today’s artists’s performances. So yeah, he only lip synced a bit for that reason. He wanted to save all his energy for the powerful notes he was going to do and promote his new song Man in The Mirror properly. It doesn’t change how legendary that performance was 🤷♀️
P!nk was on a whole other level with her performance🥰
Annie Lennox’s performance (standing ovation from the audience) of I put a spell on you (with Hosier) has to be seen to be believed. One of, if not the most talented white female singer we will ever see. Her range & ability is beyond amazing.
Pink's "Glitter in the Air" and Hozier/Annie Lennox's "I Put a Spell on You" come immediately to mind.
Mariah's prime was unstoppable when performing.
No Ricky Martin? His performance got standing ovation and everyone was talking about it day after, Madonna hugged him after .Not to mention it got the latino wave going.
Agree
Make your own selection
And he was gay before it was cool
As it always goes: someone will always be missing on lists like this. Why? Because it's not factual. It's opinion.
@@JimmieJamOfTheDay yes !! That's what l mean.
Yes! You guys were right on the money with your #1. I still get chills when I watch that performance today.
If this list doesn't have all by myself performance by Celine Dion in grammy. I ain't watching
Stunning that Aretha Franklin's "Nessun Dorma" is absent from this list.
Good God, I still today have no idea how Clapton can sit and nail that song every single time. He is something else.
Excuse me: Alanis Morisette live set with a full orchestra singing Oughta Know. It was transcendent, beautiful and completely stripped down
OMG! YEEEESSSS!
It is still one of the first performances that comes to mind when I think of greatest.
She still comes to mind first when anyone says something about the live performance not being as good as the recording - her live delivery was SPOT ON in everything I've heard her do. I need to go google this one now though. Thanks!
Christina Aguilera - It’s a Man’s World is pure art. No dancers, no stupid costumes… Just pure talent, x factor and Christina’s beauty. Amazing. Should be #1.
She's a difficult nightmare. She's her own undoing
@@PurrinMaux ??! You got issues.
No one enjoys working with her. She's rude to her fans and others in the business. Also..she trills in exhaustion she's trying to hard to sound like she has Black American A.M.E Baptist roots..and she doesn't. So...I guess you and me BOTH HAVE ISSUES
@@PurrinMaux That was one of the biggest bullshit I have ever read in my life. Stop reading gossip websites and start enjoying the good quality music because Christina has one of the best discographies ever. Pure art. About “black singing” I’ll not even comment, what you said is embarrassing.
YES, best performance! She gave it all, she killed it and this has been one of the top live performances ever!!!
Christina Aguilera is the best performance. She really killed it.
She did!!! That performance made her an Icon!!!
Xtina killed it. Best performance
Michael Jackson 🙏🏾 😔. Miss this amazing entertainer/Music Artist to this day. When it comes to the women voices..., damn, so many legnds, so many names in so many catagories. Simply one of those reasons why I looove Music. It's emotions. Man in the mirror... , I'm not gonna lie...,Goosebumps, sadnes only to end up in tears everytime when i hear this song. Specially this one at the awards from way back in the day. Rest in peace King of Pop Michael Jackson 🙏🏾 😔.
Brother Michael took us to church ! 👑👑👑
Micheal Will Always Be The No.1 Performer Of Our Livetimes ,You Picked Right ,Thanks For The Show
Specialy for the kids to.
"When You Believe" by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston is ICONIC!
I feel like Kesha performing Praying should be on this list. Backed up by a ton of talented singers, that moment was powerful and moving.
Yes---THAT was, especially after what happened to her. It was POWERFUL and she KILLED it that night!
We miss you so much Amy Winehouse, gone way too soon!
No love for “One Sweet Day” by Mariah and Boyz II Men? Vocals alone should have earned it a spot.
Fly like a bird by MC as well 🫤
I wasn't sure if you would include it, and you didn't. Melissa Etheridge/Joss Stone doing Janis Joplin's "Piece of my heart." That performance came as Melissa was battling breast cancer. Lost her hair, came out bald and left it all on the stage. I will never forget. It brought tears to my eyes. That deserves to be in this list.
If I'm not mistaken, I believe Adele's performance was her first public concert in several months, since she'd been recovering from throat problems and wasn't able to perform.
Pink is amazing…simply amazing
Pink doing acrobatics without missing a note should have been top 2
I'm glad P!nk is top 5, her performance was amazing
I see others said it but I have to add…Ricky Martin, Cup of Life. It was unexpected, energetic and brought down the house. Madonna even crashed his presser after he won in the Latin category and told him how amazing it was.
I cannot believe that wasn’t on this list. Especially with some of the meh performances highlighted.
No hate to Beyonce but they mention her so many times here, they could have given a rank to someone else too.
Mj gave his heart and soul 100% the greatest performance I've seen
It was so kind of Michael Jackson to let them do their Grammys on his concert

Listen, I know as a collective, people have been down on Imagine Dragons for a minute. That said, their collab with Kendrick on the Radioactive/m.A.A.d. City mashup absolutely deserves to be on this list. I’d even put it top 10. It was a heart thumping, energetic, visceral performance that delivered both visually and sonically.
100% agree. No doubt one of the best Grammy performance I’ve ever witness. That collab oozed greatness and don’t get me started when Kendrick was hitting the drum in the last leg of the mashup while the band was just going insane.
I remember that performance. It was so good that when Imagine Dragons later performed on SNL, they brought Kendrick back to do the same thing.
How is this performance not on that list? You say top 10 I was expecting it in the top 5. So to not see it even mentioned is quite disappointing.
Have to agree it’s powerful performance and the mash up was spot on it’s one if not the best performances at a Grammys ever
Kendrick's 3/3 Grammy performances should have been in the top 10.
i believe janet's grmamy performance from 1987 deserved a spot or an honorable mention. its such a excellent performance.
Janet deserves a capital J, aside from your poor sentence structure.

Brandi Carlile performing "The Joke", and she was pretty fantastic this year as well with "Right on Time." She is not all glitter and sparkle like so many others, just magnificent vocals and a beautiful simplicity. She is a breath of fresh air in the music industry.
Yay - I was looking for a comment that mentioned Brandi!
@@ericajoy5136 I have all of her cds. Her songs are so honest. I am a huge fan.
OMG I love Brandi Carlise!
I found out about her because of this performance. Simple and beautiful talent
Not only is mj the best he was also one of the very first black artists to come to the MTV scene. He paved the way for all black artists to be heard on the show when most wouldn't watch if a black artists was on the screen. Not only did he pave the way for others and their performances he also kept his message the same until his last days heal the world and make it a better place for you and me and the entire human race. ❤️
I loved it to see MJ is cemented in Grammy's on the top. What a night that was for the live audience watching this once in a lifetime performance. He gave his everything on that stage!
Great list and I enjoyed it and have a blessed night
you completely missed Whitney Houston's performance of One Moment in Time from the 88 Grammys and Aretha Franklin subbing in for Pavoriti at the 98 Grammys performing Nessun Dorma
thank you, i was expectingto see this vocal masterpiece " One Moment in Time from the 88 Grammys" in the first spot
Only Michael Jackson I don’t mind taking the top spot from Whitney Houston on this list because they share the same stage presence. Hard to beat Whitney singing live in her prime years.

The most incredible musical performance 👍👍
You are not wrong! Seriously, the exclusion of "The Joke" pretty much makes this list illegitimate, in my opinion.
For real, Brandi has a killer voice and that performance was next level. I guess they ran out of spots after putting Beyonce on here so many times. 🙄😒
#1 & #2. Both legendary. RIP....
why didn't you guys mention Steven van Zandt ? He was the 4th vocalist on stage sitting right next to Dave Grohl... not to mention he played Silvio in The Sopranos

Where is the amazing Ricky Martin’s 1999 Cup Of Life performance? It received standing ovation. Where’s Mariah Carey’s 2006 We Belong Together/ Fly Like A Bird performance and Shakira’s 2006 Hips Don’t Lie performance?
Absolutely! Ricky Martin tore that stage up and delivered one of the most amazing performances ever! Not only did he sing his face off, it was spectacular!!! People in the industry talked about that for weeks after!

eURYTHMICs* performing in 1984 should have been mentioned.... MJ was winning Grammys and eURYTHMICs* just totally upstaged everything with a gender bending performance that shocked a lot of folks including host John Denver.... Sweet dreams were made of this, indeed!!
Hozier with Annie Lennox in 2015 was a tour-de-force performance that put a spell on all that were taken to church....
Herbie Hancock took an iconic music video ("Rockit') and put it on stage with a performance that was awesomely cool....
Annie Lennox is life. Damn is she amazing.
James Ingram singing "Just Once" at the 1982 Grammy's has to be on the list. This was his mainstream introduction by Quincy Jones, and it blew the audience away, reducing Ingram to tears.
I was expecting Michael Jackson to be 1 on the list but I was expecting him to be on this list more than once
He only performed at the Grammys once
Where is Celine’s “All By Myself” when she swept every award that night including record of the year?!
What about the tribute to George Harrison, which featured Jeff Lyne, Tom Petty, and Prince; that guitar solo he did, was speechless, just amazing. I could see George smiling ear to ear. My favorite definitely!!!
That was at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, wasn't it?
Daft Punk are just legends. Music would have not been the same without them. They will forever go down in music history as one of the most influential artists of all time. ALL time.

Seriously??? Where is Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand singing "You Don't Bring Me Flowers"? Hands down the best Grammy performance EVER! Better than some of the crap in that Top 20.
For me....MJ alongwith Mariah Carey, Xtina and Whitney Houston......is all there is to the Grammys.. as far as iconic vocals are concerned. They didn't need a full stage production...it was just them and their voices.
The others are all acts....stage acts...although Pink is a good vocalist too.
It was in that moment for Em and Elton that he proved appreciation, love, and respect for all people. Atleast in my own opinion.
Xtina @15? It was voted as 3rd best on Grammys!!!
YEs she was. According to GRammys records, she is #3 of all time. Very well deserved!
Personally, Pink's Glitter In the Air should have been higher on the list.
I remember Ricky Martin's first performance. It was pretty epic and unforgettable. He was fairly unknown I think and murdered his performance
I agree. Ricky Martin singing Cup Of Life performance? (corrected) vin La Vida Loca" was spectacular. I put that performance over most of the ones listed here. They may be good but I can think of others that were far more amazing and hot topic the next day! Ricky's performance was unforgettable nd the main conversation the next day all over the news! Kesha's,"Praying." So powerful!
Bro... 1989´s Metallica Show deserved a place in this top...not only because the performance, but also for the importance to the metal
Not gonna lie, the Dave Matthews Band “You and Me” performance is insanely underrated to me. Bringing all those different musicians on stage at different times, and all of them finding the timing. Just doesn’t get the due. That Pink aerial performance is beyond amazing, too.

Totally agree! She deserve more recognition . She's simply amazing .
Kesha's praying and lady gaga's born this way or speechless/poker face/your song with Elton John should've made the list
So glad the Joe Strummer tribute made the list. One of my favourite memories was seeing it live.
Same here!
Not having Ricky Martin’s performance of Cup of Life on this list is a crime. Completely mesmerized all the heavyweights in attendance and launched the Latin explosion of the late 90’s/early 2000’s to mainstream audiences. Not just his incredible performance but the impact it had on music in general.
Exactly! I am in shock that Ricky Martin is not on the list.
I love ur vids keep I up fuys
I agree with all the choices on this list. I love when talented artists like Sir Elton John and Eminem don't let possible societal boundaries determine what they are going to do. Who ever would have thought they would perform together and yet it works. God bless all the artists and performers! ; ) 💕
What’s even cooler is Eminem asked Sir Elton John to perform with him, as his critics panned “Stan” for homophobic lyrics. He gave John, who’s openly gay, an olive branch and even got him and his husband a wedding present. It may have been a “middle finger” to his critics initially but he has a good friendship with John and his husband
