My name is Donnie what's nobody don't want to talk to me cuz I'm permanently disabled and I'm blind and I have a mind of a 5 year old no girl like me anyway so that's what happened to me I don't want a girl to pay attention to me at all I will never get that😢❤
And he's so cute! I recently introduced a friend to this video, and she said we have sons close to this age!! I said my son was a baby when this came out! 🤣
I've been listening to country lately and this popped up a few times on the radio (regular and internet radio) and it's crazy to discover this is 22 years old. Such a fantastic flowing song. It gets me with the "I think the devil drives a Coupe de Ville" portion every single time.
These older songs bring back so much memories of my dad in the 99 dodge ram. This song has always reminded me of my mother and how she abandoned me, my dad, and my older sister for some guy half her age and has kids with him and abandon them too. I guess all of us have a song that reminds us of our parents and this one just reminds me of the horrible woman I unforntunly have to call my mother. I still l've this song to much to not listen to because of that and always though Joe Nichols was cute. May we never forget the few years in late 90's and early 00's of awesome country music!!
I have to agree. Now Country Music Has Gotten Outta Hand With Profanity & Such ! Broken Heart'sville was A song My Niece & Liked To Sing when She Was 13 years old.
Just found this song for the first time in 5 years at least. My old lady left and took my kid a few months back. Friday after work, I'm gettin hammered and listening to this on repeat for hours lol
That steel is AMAZING. Not many use that anymore. There are a few left that sing country. You have to turn to the alternate stuff a lot these days to hear anything but fake country pop BS that no one will remember in 15 years. This song has it all. Story, sound, lyrics!
He's had a few really big hits out there. Brokenheartsville, The Impossible, Cool To Be A Fool, I'll Wait For You, Tequilia Makes Her Clothes Fall Off, Sunny And 75, She Only Smokes When She Drinks,If Nobody Believed In You and many many more. Just look him up. You won't be disappointed
I saw Joe Nichols when he opened for Garth Brooks in Denver. He was an Incredible performer despite only being on stage for like 45 minutes. Another thing is he is absolutely hilarious. He did a "country" cover of Baby got Back and it was drop dead funny.

Rest in Peace Neil Cleveland Brady! My daddy! 13 years you been gone and I still come to this song just so I can remember a piece of you! I love you now and forever! Signed: forever your little girl.
Just got done watching his concert and I appreciate his hard dedication. He played up here in Oregon and he was over seas when I was in Iraq and he remembered. He also showed support to my little girl signed a hat and answered her questions for her. Meant a lot to me Joe if you’re reading this. Please come back up here to the NW of Oregon Astoria. I locked your hat and your pic you gave my little girl in a safe per her request . You seriously hit me hard with your dedication and I won’t forget this and neither will she. I agree there needs to be more music like yours!!! I def will be playing your music while I hunt this year.
I met him in person last year. he is by far the best guy i have ever met. he sat and had a conversation with me like i was his friend. something i'll never forget. love you joe 👍🏼
I met him for about a minute when he was at our county fair, 2006 I think it was. I was the dork on crutches. I shook his hand, but I couldn’t speak! My voice totally froze ! To this day I think at one point he was trying to give me his hat but I didn’t realize at the time. I remember some girl threw her bra on the stage and when he saw it he blushed. I asked my mom after if she’d noticed what I did and she said she did- he’d had eyes on me through a lot of the concert, and when he sang “I’ll wait for you” when he gets to the part where he speaks the word sweetheart, he looked STRAIGHT at me. My mom even saw it. Damn I felt special that night. Even though I was the 21 year old dork in braids and on crutches.
Well just want to say thank you Joe. Your show up here on the NW in Oregon Astoria was so nice. You remembered being overseas when I was in Iraq. You spent time with my daughter and it meant a lot to me and her. I locked the hat you signed and the pic you gave my daughter in the safe per her request . She really enjoyed the talk with you and so Joe if your seeing this thank you so much. She will be learning how to play guitar and she already sings. It meant a lot to us and oh yes I’ll be playing your music while I hunt this year Thank you so much. I agree there needs to be music like this. This was the first show where she met a music artist so it meant a lot to her.
Back when country songs were catchy, unique, whitty lyrics, and didn't try to use super laid back rock beats all the time. Give me a simple 4/4 beat, subtle drum fills, simple kick drum pattern, some steel guitar, and a nice guitar and vocal melody any day. The vocals and lyrics should be the center of country music with a few exceptions here and there.
Joe Nichols is the real deal. He is the best singer in Country Music. His voice is phenomenal. I just he could receive the recognition. He so richly deserves. Country Radio needs to play more of his songs. Not that junk they are trying to pass off as Country Music. Joe reminds me of the great Merle Haggard. Joe Nichols is a living legend in my eyes. I just wish everyone else would see this. I have been a fan of Joe Nichols since 2002. I will die a Joe Nichols fan❤
2020 here I remember my grandpa would watch CMT music videos back then. And any time this song came on he would let us blast it on his tv. Love and miss you grandpa

This guy deserves much more recognition. He is true country.
Keep it going Joe.

21 years later and I’m still listening to this song and Joe Nichols. Still as good as the day it first played on the radio.
Check out his latest album!!!
Has it REALLY been 21years??!
This man is the most underrated male vocalist in Country Music today.
One of the last songs of the true country era.
This is real country music
I'm not a big country music fan, but you are 100% right. This song crosses all genres of music. Just the sound, context, and melody. It's amazing.
Yes real, real country song. Thank you Joe. You remind me of the great Patsy Cline, Buck Owens, and Skeeter Davis.

Why can't country music be like this no more it's sad
Nashville destroyed it in their pursuit for the all-mighty dollar.

He's too country for radio. At least that is the BS excuse they will come up with. Joe Nichols is the real deal.
He is so awesome and very sweet and handsome too and good looking❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂

We need country music like this more then ever. Today’s country is horrible.
I agree! Check out Michael Ray, he’s up and coming and really reminds me of 90’s country vibes

one of the best opening lines EVER in a song in any genre. Love this song for being COUNTRY at a time when few were.
In my opinion one of the best Country songs ever written. Perfect ballad, tells its story quickly with simple elegance.

Hate to rain on your parade bud but this came out about 13 years ago.
