- Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders along with Bill Vitt and Martin Fierro perform "The Wall Song" (David Crosby) from GarciaLive Volume 15: May 21st, 1971 Keystone Korner coming Dec. 4th, 2020! Pre-order: bit.ly/GLV15Key...
The Day in the Life section by Fierro is nice... reminds me of Dusty Fingers meets that 68 jam of Clementine
I'm Definitely getting my Preorder for this one, can't go wrong with Jerry and Merl !!!!!! Stay Positive and Stay Grateful !!!!!!✌❤😄🙏🌹🌻
How much is really left in the vault that is not circulated? So cool. Nice surprise here. Tremendous
I thought I had heard every Garcia song until today. Never even seen this on a setlist. I was born on May 14th , 1971. So I was a mere one week old. Only took me 16 years to make it to my first show.
Martin really brings this alive. No-brain decision.
Wow ....Awesome Cover of The Wall Along ! Fierro is killing it on here !!
Not really a cover since they played on the record
I have always loved this tune since hearing the first Crosby-Nash album when I was 15 and had no idea that the guitar I loved so much was Mr. Garcia...just a precursor to my future travels with GD music...So stoked this has surfaced!
R.I.P. JERRY GARCIA, MERL SAUNDERS AND MARTIN FIERRO
This is beyond good. I always hoped a '71 JGB outing would emerge from the vault. Love the way the quintet explores the Crosby tune. Jerome's vocals and guitar work are really fine, and Martin's sax playing is absolutely stellar. I'll be preordering the release, for sure.
My ears thank y’all
Ok I need this
Lil bit of A Day in the Life?
This is so sick. Thank u😍💝🎈🔥
Why no vinyl release like with previous volume 14 ( Garcia/Kahn acoustic)? Would have pre-ordered if vinyl option was available. Guess I will just stream it on Spotify now.
I have a bootleg of them trying this with David and Jerry trying to teach Bertha at the time ;)
it was the beginning to a lot at the time :)
Incredible. Just heard The Wall Song on TFTGR rebroadcast. Like Pink Floyd meets Traffic meets Sons of Champlin. Martin Fiero pushes the groove feel out to the rest of the band. Garcia lays way back. Fascinating to hear that! Thank You Thank You Thank You
Good call on Traffic. Totally hear that.
Jerry is signing way out of tune here.
Sheesh. Jerry sings it authentically. It is minor mode. Brah!

Somehow makes Crosby less of a douche for his comment on Van Halen.
No, he's still a douche.
@@plm8550 yes he is but im trying desperately to separate the artist from the art.
You know, seems not too long ago, David Crosby was wailing publicly about how broke he was. He was close to being homeless, had lots of medical bills, etc. But he was putting out lots of music. I wonder if some record company bailed him out, or if he found a way to get paid for his cynical rants. He's become perhaps a self-annointed cultural icon whose opinions really matter...to only himself. It's a shame, cuz I too try to separate his obvious musical talent from the 💩, but even his longtime pal, Graham Nash, doesn't speak to him anymore. Does anyone out there know the grain of truth in his current demeanor?
@@gregberry1812 Understood but sometimes people are better just keeping their yaps shut & he's Exhibit A.
He ragged on The Doors not too long ago & his criticisms were just wrong, in my opinion.
Ironic because The Doors catalogue is about 85% solid when he has a lot more clunkers in his.
He's a prime example of why I'm not on social media in any form, Twitter being the worst, in my opinion - they've all breeded a "Look at me" culture (Instagram & Facebook) & "Listen to me" culture with Twitter.
My ego's not big enough to think anyone cares & if they do, they can ask.
Privacy & staying silent more often than not are a good thing, even for celebrities.
@Club Soda i cant remember the exact words but he indicated his lack of being impressed by Eddie Van Halen as a musician. Personally I think when it comes to guitarists Eddie was the biggest thing since Hendrix. Maybe Van Halen never lived up to the hype caused by their first album but that is a rant for anotber day.
This is amazing. I’ve pre-ordered the CD, shirt and poster. Beautiful stuff, as always.
Magnifique morceau de saxophone avec Jerry Garcia : étonnant !

Agreed
1st?
lol
Whats up dave lol aka jerry garcia
OMG, Jerry’s vocals are so bad. This is horrible and I’m a huge fan but not deaf.
Go away.
Agreed, I find it to be a religious devotion to Jerry’s music (usually his vocals) that has some folks incapable of making a criticism for fear of sounding like a heretic.
Have to agree. Especially in comparison to how Crosby & Nash sang it
Maybe in 1971 that sort of caterwauling on the sax seemed experimental and risky, but to me 50 years later it's just unlistenable. He sounds great when he's in key, but he always goes beyond that into "listen to all the noise I can make" territory. Do that once a night maybe. not every break.
You're pining for the dead man on sax to go back in time and cool it? How'd you play horn less than two years after Bitches Brew came out?
Not a jazz fan?
I agree
