Weather or not Dan and Phil were in a relationship at any point, I’m so happy for them. It can be so hard to find people of the same gender who are willing to be friends with you when you’re gay, especially for guys.
ok but why are you saying this as if one of them was straight? I'd rephrase it as Even if they're not dating, I'm so glad that they've found each other because it's very hard to meet fellow gay people who you can have this soulmate level of solidarity and complete understanding with, romantic or platonic. most of my best friends happen to be straight and there are certain things they'll never relate to me on and vice versa. I hope I'll have a girlfriend one day with whom I can have this intimate sense of belonging those two clearly share.
