    I made this last night and it was amazing! I also made mom's korokke recipe and served it with the tonkotsu sauce you guys mentioned out of ketchup, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce, ginger carrot salad and miso soup. It was very easy! Tonight we are making your curry rice from scratch recipe and it tastes sooo good! We did add the mayo, chocolate and coffee, and I am a Japanese curry convert now! Thanks for all the recipes!

      And I would say that chopped green onions/scallions or thin chives work OK when you don't have Mitsuba leaves. Also, AO-NORI, dried green seaweed, to garnish KATSUDON can be another option. I had a Katsudon with Aonori once in a soba restaurant in Tokyo.

    I love Katsudon! I make it at home for 10 years now. Unfortunately I don't have access to Mitsuba or dashi but I substitute a little but of Italian parsley and I don't worry about the dashi so much. I also add a bit of Sake to mine. It's so good and yummy!
    I hope your viewers will try it out, and I just finished watching the video after I wrote this and noticed Satoshi said sub Italian parsley! Heehee... Way ahead of you!

    Ohhh, that was amazing. I still have yet to do any of the onigirazu from earlier videos (random comment, I know). For the summer 'cold noodle' dish, whichever... well, I'd say whichever is easier. If they are both quite tasty, whichever is the easier recipe. Thanks, guys!

    Hello!
    I come from Italy and the Italian parsley here is too strong in my opinion (as a substitue to Mitsuba). I've seen people using scallion and after trying it I have to say I love the taste :)
    Just thought I'd share, I guess to each his own!
    Love your result btw!! Well done.

    • @secretdiaryofafoodie
      @secretdiaryofafoodie 7 років тому

      SallynaSmile the flat parsley or the curly one?
      I like the idea of scallions.

    • @SallynaSmile
      @SallynaSmile 7 років тому

      The flat one... I'm not sure I've ever tried the curly one.. or if they have the same taste. I like it with the scallions, it gives a strong onion flavour (if you're partial to it)!

    • @secretdiaryofafoodie
      @secretdiaryofafoodie 7 років тому +1

      The curly one has a much less strong taste, so it may work? Regardless, scallions would be nice.
