Drivers are from HRS series and it is not 2.7 Kw rms power. Certainly one of the worst places for sub woofer placement....Dogs barking and any background noise will result in poor auto calibration result with no repeatable listening audio LFE level curve.
I've had many starting with a true junior in 09' & am rescuing this same model currently.. Your lucky to get 1g rms outta this Carver plate and will blow Passives like an old spent bitch, trying a slap earthquake unattractive passive with its throughbolt butt with abilities to adjust hz level by adding/subtracting weight, (doesn't come with enough) so far so good through break-in... Build quality is by far superior to any passive replacement in the past!!! Not one issue that others express on forums have I ever experienced, this Beast is just out the bowx ready for upgrades, drivers&cord, weight& bracing witch I demonstrate other ways with eternal enforcement if the whole WAF isn't an issue:-)) More height that good quality isolating feet add by design... Definitely go xlr and proceed to stage others accordingly...

Has the flat front face been removed from the drivers or Are they the drivers from the HRS series? Does it improve the sound ?
How does this sub compare to the Rel sub?
