    Nice onw, thanks greatly for taking time to explain, it was thorough. I want to ask if there are laser beams or PIR with SIM card slot and/or RJ45?

    Do I get everything I need in the box or do I still need to buy an additional alarm system to hook up with the beams?

    The sender uses LED's not photodiodes!

    You repeat the same things a lot but the reason I came here, is only touched very minor. Which version should I buy as in detection lenth. Should I buy a 30 meter version if I have to cover 30 meters or can I better buy a 120 meter version for 30 meter? The stronger the better? or not?

      As long as the detection length specification is rated for outdoors then its fine. Some give specification of indoors which is higher.
      If your distance is 30m and the beam max is 30m for outdoor this is a question of quality. Since there are many companies who make this, i can only comment on the ones i have used and if you install 30m its fine.
      To be on safe side get 60m ones if you install over 30m. But no you don't need to get 120m for 30 meter distance.
      Here is an install ua-cam.com/video/U9N5ho-L3mM/v-deo.html

    Nice article. The technical spec says output is 24v .5ma. does it mean I can connect this to a siren unit rated for 24v and .5amp

    Hi sir.. Your video is very informative. I would like to get a suggestion, between PIR or Laser beam sensor which should I choose for residential security purposes ?

      there is no best single option for a whole house system. The point of alarms is to detect intrusion. Since intruders try different ways of getting in (crawl, walk, jump, slow walk, masking), the best is to use multiple systems. So to answer your question, if you can use more than one method is better than one alone. Beam is good if the intruder cannot see the sender and receiver. PIR is good as it covers wider spread. I first do PIR, then i add beams to increase security.

    How you activate and you deactivate the beam? You can attach directly to them a siren right?

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  4 роки тому

      you can, but its best to use an alarm panel to control when it goes on and off

    I want to know, if one beam out of two will disconnect still it will generate alarm or not.

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  4 роки тому

      this model in the video needs two beams to be interrupted before alarm signals.

    The Infrared Emitter LED has no modulation. I cheated it with a normal flashlight

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  5 років тому

      thanks for checking that. Its bad design for the security to have no modulation, that means that anyone can bypass this with basic tools

      I need these to cover a distance of around 7m however ive read that exposing them to direct sunlight can trip them. Further reading suggests you have to "out power" the sun light hitting the receiver. Do you if the difference between the 60m outdoor range and one say with a 180m outdoor range is a more powerful ir emitter? Do you think the longer range one at a short distance will be powerful enough to "out power" the sun light entering the receiver?
      Thanks
