A legend and a guitar. That's all we need today in this wild wild world..to ease the pain and appreciate life in general.. Thank you, John and the band, for making your precious and unforgettable music for us. With love and respect from India.
Well from what I know he has a bit of an ego and that caused his brother to quit the band and eventually caused the remaining three members to have a terrible breakup and refuse to work together ever again. He got into many arguments with the other members and was very controlling. For example woodstock he refused to let them put their set in the film because he thought their performance was subpar. This upset Stu Cook the bassist and that is just one example. John also refused to play with the band when they were inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. He is a talented prick.
@@quickpawmaud That's not exactly true: ultimateclassicrock.com/creedence-clearwater-revival-break-up/. Without John Fogerty that band would've went nowhere. He was the band, the others were just there. He sang lead, played lead guitar, and he was the songwriter. He wasn't stupid. He knew that it had to stay that way for the band to remain successful. From the article: Lead singer, principal songwriter, guitarist and frontman John Fogerty had always played a dominant role in the group, and as time went on his bandmates - brother and guitarist Tom Fogerty, drummer Doug "Cosmo" Clifford and bassist Stu Cook - pushed for more of a voice in the band's music and business decisions. Tom Fogerty finally departed the band in 1971, and for the group's next album, John Fogerty told his remaining bandmates that if they wanted more input, then each member would contribute their own songs, on which he would only play rhythm guitar. The result was Mardi Gras, released in 1972 to a resounding critical drubbing. Rolling Stone critic Jon Landau called it "the worst album I have ever heard from a major rock band," and though the album was still relatively commercially successful, it did not sell as well as previous efforts. Fogerty had also become involved in a series of disputes with CCR's record label, Fantasy Records, over what he thought were unfair contracts, and on Oct. 16, 1972 the group announced their breakup. The other members also left him alone in the fight against that record label, which caused him a lot of trouble while starting his solo career. That's the reason he refused to play with them at the Hall of Fame ceremony, and I can't blaming him for choosing not to. So that's the reason why the others have pretty much been a CCR tribute band over the last 35 to 40 years, and why Fogerty went on to have a successful solo career. He gave them a chance to contribute their own music, and that music wasn't up to snuff. That's the same sort of thing that happened with The Eagles back when they first broke up as well.
Forky Mental, John might have been the brains of the band, but without them he would be nothing. The only reason anyone in the audience gave a shit about him playing solo is because they remember growing up with CCR. If he was still a washed up musician, playing in bars, having never played with CCR no one would give a shit about him even if he was playing the same memorable songs.
@@tonyhinojosa7710 It was the name of the band that mattered. If John could have fired all of the bands original members and hire new ones, then things wouldn't have changed. Nobody would've noticed. He wasn't able to keep the name because of the legal battle with his record company. Plus he was pissed. I would've been too.

I saw CCR with the Sir Douglas Quintet, in about 1969 (?) at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, and it was GREAT. I wore a Nero collared waiter jacket that we bought from the Queen Mary when it ported in Long Beach, and thought I was to cool to be true. There with my parents, who took me, lol. Had some very hip parents, who got into the SoCal music of the times. Was blessed to have seen many bands live during that period (1965-1969), will never forget it. Thanks, Mom and Dad!!!
We were ready to rock out and we waited and waited and finally it was our turn ... there were a half million people asleep. These people were out. It was sort of like a painting of a Dante scene, just bodies from hell, all intertwined and asleep, covered with mud. And this is the moment I will never forget as long as I live: A quarter mile away in the darkness, on the other edge of this bowl, there was some guy flicking his Bic, and in the night I hear, "Don't worry about it, John. We're with you." I played the rest of the show for that guy. -John Fog recalling Creedence Clearwater Revival's 3:30 a.m. start time at Woodstock

I don't think that Cash thing is gonna happen anytime soon tbh. Just a hunch.
what does Bono have to do with music?
I NEVER LIKED HIM! He comes off very CREEPY! (Conan The Librarian)
Conan feeling the vibe and hitting the Fogerty scream at 2:32. Good job. CCR's music is timeless.
74 and Kicking as a Musician.....everyone in the industry under the age of 30 should really process what they are seeing here....amazing......!!!
A legend and a guitar. That's all we need today in this wild wild world..to ease the pain and appreciate life in general..
Thank you, John and the band, for making your precious and unforgettable music for us.
With love and respect from India.
That guy is a fucking legend...so glad conan got him to sing...listen to the crowd...just amazing
Watch Conans face as the legend strummed that guitar that smile faded he felt it in his soul. God blessed that man with that gift.
Accomplished people who are still regular people ... inspirational.
F*** yeah John. Cut from a different cloth. Nobody like him.
From the article:
Lead singer, principal songwriter, guitarist and frontman John Fogerty had always played a dominant role in the group, and as time went on his bandmates - brother and guitarist Tom Fogerty, drummer Doug "Cosmo" Clifford and bassist Stu Cook - pushed for more of a voice in the band's music and business decisions.
This man needs no backup, no auto tune. He is just pure music genius.
Yeah, unfortunately today his voice is not that great as it was, you can see that his voice got older, but goddamn this man is a legend...
How lucky was studio audience!! ❤
As a kid my weekends were at my dads house. He played CCR non stop and drank beer. I never had so much fun. I miss you dad RIP x
When I was a kid (about a thousand years ago) I had a 45rpm with Fortunate Son that I played so often, my brother broke it. I’ve been a fan of yours since 10 years old.
My dad introduced me to ccr when I was in middle school. Now my dad has his days numbered due to cancer. Ccr will forever hold a special place in my heart and every time I play them I will continue to think of my dad even when he's long gone from this world. Ccr fan for life.
A music legend
What a voice. You're still killing it.
One day John Fogerty will leave this world. And I'll come back to this video and cry alot harder than I did this time.
Arthur Gunn made John Fogerty proud. One of the greatest songs of all time.
Agree
Daniel Melo that guy is a legend dude. These Nepalese people.
I LIKED Arthur GUNN'S MUCH BETTER, IT'S IS RASPY IN HIS VOICE.
It's amazing to see.. how one Nepalese guy came up in American idol, sang this song, and made this evergreen song alive again. 💙
@@sudeshjoshi7190 They can close up shop, American Idol has a winner, "Arthur Gunn!"
Marvellous.
No auto-tune here just pure voice what a legend
My favorite part is around 39 seconds when Conan is so excited he doesn’t know what to do with his arms. You can tell he loves CCR and this was an great experience for him.
The man has still got it. FOGERTY FOREVER!
What a cool dude....have you ever seen the rain...
Remember this song, flying in a Bell Huey over the Mekong Delta, a long time ago.
Thank you for your service and sacrifices. Some of us will never forget you. 💖🙏👏👏👏👏 ✌️
Lyn Caho 🇺🇸🙏❤️
That's some memory, God bless man.
Vietnam was the worst war ever. I lost a lot of friends, even though those friends came back, they were never really a part of life anymore, but ccr made it a little better. At least when ccr played and we sang along it felt like old times just for those brief moments. To all the vets, from every war, thank you for your service.
You look like you're in your 40s in the photo...
One of the sweetest men I ever talked with!!! He volunteered at a veterans help line in Charleston, SC. I was pretty down, and called it. He persuaded me not to hurt myself, and get help. I did.
He delivered the performance of a lifetime. Bless him.!
Absolute definition of legend ..
Man sounds great.
Malaysia is a place very normal to see the rain in a sunny day all year round.
Too f..king cool. Lucky people in the audience that day
This is amazing. Ive been practicing this song on the guitar and harmonica lately, then THIS pops ups on my feed.
Conan needed to hear that!
John is part of my youth. Glad to hear he's alive and well. God bless you!!
One of the greatest songwriters ever.
The first CD I ever owned as a kid was CCR. We listened to CCR when I was in Civil Air Patrol. We listened to CCR when I was in tech school after basic training. We listened to CCR when I was deployed to Afghanistan. I listen to CCR now.
Amazing
One of the greatest musicians to ever live.
No auto tune needed. Wow
A Timeless classic. Thank you for uploading this.

Artist in pure class
I couldn't stop smiling. Awesome
I think he's one of the most underrated songwriters/guitarists. So many amazing songs. A lot of them are perfect for summer

Live legend! God bless John Fogerty 🙏🏻 cheers from Brasil 🇧🇷 we love you
man, he can still sing so good.
I like this song. I wrote this title on the request card for the band who were playing oldies numbers so often.😊
When I first heard bad moon rising in American werewolf in London the song blew me away. Then my uncle let me borrow a ccr tape. Ccr has been my favorite band ever since. John is a living legend.
