Bloody Legend! They need to build a statue of him outside Kardinia Park like they have with Leigh Matthews or Kevin Bartlett near the MCG! Name the new stand after him as well.
He'll always be remembered as 'Duck-Wood' to all opposition supporters..... Twice as many frees through cheating than any other player in the history of the comp.....a blight on the competition & a terribly poor sport & bad loser to boot.
Yeah he ducked and weaved through all pain and games played .led and wooed his team over the line like captain's should. But he is the goat of the 21st century ain't no arguments and I'm not a cats supporter.
Good teams are tough to beat anywhere and are tougher to defeat at their home ground. West Coast when they are up and flying are almost impossible to beat over at Optus. They have had a tough few years and have struggled to win at home because they're not a good side. Irrespective of Geelong's home deck, they've been a really good side for 20 years ✅
@Tysio100 West Coast don't have a special advantage at home, it's the same as Fremantle, or any other interstate side. Whereas Geelong are the ONLY side in Victoria with their own venue.
@@Whoknowsuknow It's not the home ground advantage that makes them a better side though. They've been a basket case in previous eras, whilst still having that home ground. If Geelong have a bottom 2 list, then it doesn't matter how many games they play at The Cattery, they're not going to be any good
@Tysio100 they had the same ground but other teams had their own grounds also. Ever since they were the only Vic side with their own ground they barely missed finals.

a big wood-Duck would be most apt.

Geelong get an incredible unfair advantage as the only non interstate team with their own ground. Joel's CV is a huge asterisk.

Geelong have a huge disadvantage being the only team who doesn't get 11 home games and don't play home finals
Why did they leave out The most finals loses in the history of the competition?....Lets be thorough now.
