There's no language called "Scottish". There are two modern languages apart from English that are native to Scotland: Scottish Gaelic (a Celtic language) and Scots (a Germanic language). They're very different languages.
Thank you so much for putting them straight on this. Was about to blast off myself but see you have saved me the trouble. I am northern English and well aware of the differences. Thanks again. 🇫🇮👍
^ Finland?
Scottish is a dialect of English, not a distinct language. Scots came from the Picts, and along with Erse (Scottish Gaelic), contribute to the Scottish dialect. You are correct.
@@HotRod12667 No. Scots most certainly did not come from the Picts. Scots is a Germanic language very closely associated to English. Pictish was not a Germanic language in the slightest. So little is known about it, mostly names, and that it was apparently a Celtic language, but it was certainly not a Germanic one. Scottish Gaelic is definitely a Celtic language of the Goidelic branch, which was brought to Scotland by settlers from Ireland. "Scottish" by itself is not a language. There's Scottish Gaelic and then there's Scots (two very different languages), but there's no language simply called "Scottish".
4:26 first of all its originally "mazal tov", from Hebrew and second it means congratulations. (Good luck is the literal translation)
Molto means a lot/much/many (the latter two used with masculine nouns) as well as very in Italian.
Venti in Italian means twenty but also winds (singular is vento)
Grazie! My first thought was winds.
Verissimo, venti does mean winds, but it also means XX.
