Shopped the CV73 and ended up with a Lowrance Hook Reveal unit. Not sure if I made the right decision or not, but it's too late now :) Should be here on Thursday.
Ok i watched it..great...but what unit is everyone getting Garmin with ice fish package or Vexilar? My buddy has the vexilar 28 he can see his corn he chums with sinking...wish we could have seen a fish on both 7 units What it looks like...ok please respond...which one is best.
It's really just a matter of personal preference. If I'm runnin' and gunnin" for crappie or moving around a lot or on walking, I bring the Vexilar. If I have my snowmobile or I'm in a shack or in one spot for the day, I bring the Garmin with the Panoptix. If I absolutely had to pick just one unit to buy, I would say the Vexilar will give you the best bang for your buck.
There is sporadic interference but the 73 seems to have considerably better rejection than the striker 4. I have used them at the same time and it is definitely useable.
How do you like the proview ducer? I’m thinking about the flx 28 but mostly fish in under 20 feet and have read the proview can cause problems in shallow water.
I have had no issues with it even in shallow water. It has an option for switching it to “low power“ mode which is preferred in shallow water and in the weeds.
Man decisions decisions. I think im Going vexilar fl 18 in the blue case. Has zoom, 12° cone, shallow water mode but goes down to 200'. Runs $399 to $440. Hope it's the right choice.
@@kevinkubed7683 YES, I bought the striker and didn’t like it, returned it to cabelas and got me a MarCum M1 and it’s an amazing unit, Flashers are way tougher and way more powerful and accurate

I've been a Vexilar man since day one, but the Garmin is very cool.

I have garmin graphs on my bass boat I should look into bundles to convert my 73 for ice fishing

Did you run your 28 at the same time as the 73 if so how much interference I have a wheel shack I was thinking about running both ?
