Even though I mentioned "68 Pins" way too many times throughout the Video, the Motorola 68000 has 64 Pins, not 68... silly me 😅

I've not seen the mirofibre wipe before. Nice and makes sense.

I got this idea from Noel's Retro Lab a few years back. He has an excellent UA-cam channel, covering repairs of many Computer models. I am even a patron of his channel :) It's worth checking out: noelsretrolab.com/

Very good video. I have an Amiga 3000 with battery damage to the Denise socket and will do as you’ve shown. Thank you!

Thank you 😃Once you have done this a few times, it becomes pretty straight forward.

Would you mind giving the link to the socket you bought or giving the part number?

I bought mine from eBay Here are some links:.
      Machined:

      Dual Wipe:

Digikey and Mosuer will have these as well.
Depending on your intended use, I prefer Dual Wipe Sockets for the Chips only. Machined Sockets (round holes), are ideal for Add-in cards that plug into the socket since they usually have round pins. Either are fine but I find using Machine Sockets slightly round the pins of the CPU, making re-insertion into the CPU socket not as secure as the first insertion. As always, this is a personal decision depending on your personal preference :)
