I got this idea from Noel's Retro Lab a few years back. He has an excellent UA-cam channel, covering repairs of many Computer models. I am even a patron of his channel :) It's worth checking out: noelsretrolab.com/
I bought mine from eBay Here are some links:. Machined: www.ebay.com/itm/255503607686?hash=item3b7d33a786:g:vvoAAOSw32hiZIAQ&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwNpSQoT2wEC5waButq1MUxbMFaFxOBFO%2BthKNOfispOWTvAStxChNcJIBBZv7%2BlYBuZ6QYMEeoL8cttldUIUyk8I%2FzJqRsRW2%2B822CPXRs90GMIfxngNfWMg9UNNZmHhwDakN%2BXeultURnpEuCFDw1w0pYEhXY%2Bw7iMue1%2BdwubqNTblildmBCSrT7ZqGhlafr0nnd8a05XP0ubkAwFaL8x6GqTNFmvRw1O8d4TmHJujpgzqwvFTcHhvjHWQAyQRjg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR9y0gPCHYw Dual Wipe: www.ebay.com/itm/155646804452?hash=item243d45c1e4:g:M9IAAOSwVzBkpD5g&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwC5Ar9vv5iSlBljXF%2FPmSdzhBsiRYMk5qUavmzXshYh1CCmpyS1aXqKXoDLHtA6lF6bS4wmfB3SDOII9llFP%2F8Z7DWpo9gL5wxYjmap9sRKv0xJco2YIHd4SFWd%2BYqIOKEPDzkpYFsGXiztrUM3P2QRK%2FO78UpMGtcNKlI4UVOu8M%2BwscAIoIJUeN4VCuvq8odlN%2Fbh5GPLHWbVSZtvh4CDa2%2BxlQ4Pb0bs2H3PLdkVRkriLZVuLbWDYKuKb6uQ9hg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR9y0gPCHYw Digikey and Mosuer will have these as well. Depending on your intended use, I prefer Dual Wipe Sockets for the Chips only. Machined Sockets (round holes), are ideal for Add-in cards that plug into the socket since they usually have round pins. Either are fine but I find using Machine Sockets slightly round the pins of the CPU, making re-insertion into the CPU socket not as secure as the first insertion. As always, this is a personal decision depending on your personal preference :)
I bought mine from eBbay, AmigaKit also sells them. eBay; www.ebay.ca/itm/293002300337?itmmeta=01HVCXEG3FCFT2QZ0DRE3T2SRC&hash=item44384c4bb1:g:WYkAAOSwBA1chh~z&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0I16hF%2FuFeIoNxTsAg%2BIHaWYQdGT6LD9l%2B2yqy%2FDWqO5Mva3DlVXmN07UxqshLzqkvlBqMeLBdUN20ewg3tsj9LKhN7F%2F8cpZ8j7LBJr9o3lNTKKoLNfn%2Bddnp4SwIkzFCRe77Km9KceohDKkG4nDH7BrNAo0UAodJolCVbWsMDb1dItfa02m7B4P%2Buj0WvpJU7JU85g7b7Szq2VlvECxxufulGtCYlbBmMbBpuYhfYulRV0H%2Byh3xs9%2Fqt%2BklFAi7CIZjrrQc%2BUWSmdFUAHvuM%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR-yBup3bYw AmigaKit: amigakit.amiga.store/68000-socket-amiga-5002000-p-12661.html?aksid=2osbsp4d5jkjdlffa3mskb5mpa¤cy=USD&aksid=2osbsp4d5jkjdlffa3mskb5mpa
Even though I mentioned "68 Pins" way too many times throughout the Video, the Motorola 68000 has 64 Pins, not 68... silly me 😅
I've not seen the mirofibre wipe before. Nice and makes sense.

Very good video. I have an Amiga 3000 with battery damage to the Denise socket and will do as you’ve shown. Thank you!
Thank you 😃Once you have done this a few times, it becomes pretty straight forward.
Nice work Allan😊
Bel video e ottimo lavoro!
Thanks. I have often been asked to show more detail in my repairs, so here you go...
Would you mind giving the link to the socket you bought or giving the part number?
