Awesome video… some day I’ll be able to make a thin blade larger than 5 inches…until then I’ll keep watching you and Mr.Tuttle and absorb as much info as I can. I had to work Sunday so I couldn’t make it back to eaglesville. Wish I could have had 1 more day of first hand learning from you and the others that were there. Thank you again for the lessons Saturday.

Man, it is just a pleasure to watch you work. Not a lot of people making large blades like that without indirect. it's really impressive that you don't shatter those large pieces like I do every time I freehand anything larger than my hand lol.

Nice to watch someone who has mastered their craft. Working glass, I have discovered the eight inch mark is a real achievement. Would Love to see the finished blade.

My silly putty blade video shows making a very thin 7.5 inch blade.

Nice job, thanks for making the video. Which of your videos explains how to make those large billets?

Wow what a beautiful end product. To watch you work from such a rough rock to the finished product, you are a master knapper my friend. Do you ever get down here in Florida for the Silver River Knap In?

You mentioned that you sometimes hold the handle loosely. Can you elaborate as to when and why you would hold it loosely instead of using a firm grip with strong follow through on your swing?
Enjoyed the video. I ordered copper caps today in 1-1/2”, 2”, 2-1/2” and 3” sizes. Looking forward to trying them out.

Basically as the preform gets thin and you want to avoid hinges you should loosely hold the preform and the bopper.

Can I inquire as to what kind of leather that pad is made of? It looks like dinosaur hide? Elephant? Hippo?

@@EDBO23 I had no idea it was so thick. If I ever find some for sale I'll snag it up. I'm a leg pad guy and that definitely looks like it would save me some bruises lol.
