That ending scene was everything. She is teetering but while holding it all together. She still has boundaries and is only interested in stopping her own demise eventhough it may be at anyone's expense. Hope is that perfect creature in a way. She is in control even when she isnt. It's amazing that she isnt a ripper .. still has compassion for children ... I'm proud of her man lol

It’s interesting how hope’s humanity being off hasn’t really turned off her emotions fully. Instead it just made her more rutheless, which honestly is much more terrifying

@@elenaclaudia277 it's not that. It's just humanity and emotions will always be there even if you try to throw them away. That is exactly why Klaus fell in love with Caroline even though he was known to be emotionless. And the whole episode was meant for that messenge, that definition of humanity isn't really what we think it is.
That's the thing, the humanity switch was always fake. Vampirism amplifies all emotions - "the switch" is and always has been from the 1st season of The Vampire Diaries- just amplified repression or "denial".

I think because Hope didn’t choose to turn off her humanity (she kind of instinctually forced it off) it kind of slips back in at times, as if the old Hope is trying to undo what she mistakenly did.

danielle's acting this season has been amazing. and the ending scene in 4x12 was incredible. this is a great edit.
Humanity off it's a defense mechanisme in her case. When She lost Landon her humanity flipped, because she can't handle all of those pain and grief (her parents, her uncle, Landon, what the Hollow did to her, years of lonliness, being abondend). This is why she can't turn it on, cause this is to much to her. This is how She protected herself.

The video is incredible! Hope’s story is so painful and tragic that I can’t describe it in words. She was made a hope for the whole family. Her parents, despite their reputation, wanted her to become a decent and good person, but in her cruelty in a short time she managed to surpass even her father in his old days. Hope is a living example of how a human breaks down when he has shouldered the burdens of the whole world since childhood.
Yes. Since childhood, they call her the savior of her family. Their millennial sins are redeemers. The family's Hope. Even Elijah admit it, they should'nt have to do this. This is a big burden for a kid. To much pressure. They put on her their sins consequences. And now She breaks out from that, and breaking out destroying her.
@@lavenderdream4117 It’s Haley’s fault most of the time. She was so caught up in the search for the salvation of Kol, Rebekah, Freya and Elijah that she forgot that her daughter was grow. Unfortunately, Klaus wasn’t there for her to prevent this because Marcel and Inadu. Bottom line: we have a broken kid with a savior complex who’s also last everyone, and who abandoned by family, whose she have to be a savior.

But right, all of the actions what her family make, made her a martyr / savior complex girl, who clings almost obsessively to those she can let close and dreads from loss.

This is so Damon Salvatore (in the dealing with humanity issues way) remember when Damon did this ,stood in the middle of the road ,at night ,stopped a car ,told his grief to the lady passenger ,told her to run ,and then killed her.

The scene with Alaric hit me every time. You can see on his face how he goes from being worried about Hope, to fearing that his worse fears for Hope came true when she asked about his humanity switch, to finally sadness after realizing his protegee is gone and that he wasn't able to save her when she said "isn't it?".
I think Hope can't get her humanity back on because she's afraid to turn it back on.
I think in an episode Josie talks to Hope and finds out that Hope is afraid to turn on her humanity
You can’t force someone to turn their humanity back on.
The only thing you can do is make the other option hurt more than facing your guilt.
Which is why almost everyone was tortured into caring in TVD

now, ik Hope is supposed to be better than the other Mikaelson, but i kinda love her being the anti-hero (or villain). all the villain in legacies, lack of thereof, have weak backstory and not as evil as their predecessors on TVD & TO.

@@May-nu9iw Yes. When She was born Ivy said She is gonna be their downfall. But the true is, people around her is her downfall, beacause they actions send her on this way. She is a great person, but the pressure, all of her trauma and loss, people's betrayel and kick into her ruind her. And this is why She don't want to turn it on. She don't want to feel these things.
I love Hope without her humanity it's a whole new her and I love it she literally passed her father and it's amazing ik it my seem weird but something about the hero turning villain is always so satisfying and this new Hope has so much in-store for us
hope is becoming all her predecessors and im thinking she will be more powerful than the hollow. crescent wolf bloodline the hollow was her great aunt,her father while still a first born michaelson witch. im thinking that the thing the gods were so affraid of would be hope. there is no way to killl her after the red oak was destroyed and shes just beggiinig to understand her poweron top of all that the life shes lived is nothing short of a tragedy and that still is an underestimation
Might seem odd but I see a bit of Villianelle in this (season 3 when she wants to stop being an assassin). Someone who has been pushed over the edge from life training her to turn off humanity as a coping mechanism. Danielle’s acting is great. The ambivalence and longing and also fury in her line deliveries are just fantastic.
Actually you're right since Lizzie leaving her I think it hurt Hope even more and maybe now is going to become harder that she turns her humanity on.

I love this… legacies took really a drastic turn… You can see Hope being kinda confussed with why can she feel things when she turned her humanity off which makes her all the more dangerous…. Also I love how in legacies all the actors that play teen actually look teen… whereas in tvd and to they looked in their 20s (still amazing cast) and I think that adds to the terrifing image of hope… because who would ever expect a teenager to be this ruthless
Amazing! Absolutely stunning! I love that they keep her on the edge of, I guess, essentially turning it back on. Like we get a glimpse but then Hope's like "nah". Cause mixed with all the loss and pain she's went through, now she's witnessed so much more violence at her own hands this time.
In the way that they focused on Lizzie's codependency, Hope's life has really been defined by loneliness. And now, the only person who was kinda tied to her severed that and more or less betrayed her? Obviously we see her at the Mystic Falls border and back at the school in the promo, but I'd be curious to see how long she'd last trying to run from anything that could trigger an emotion.

This was an Absolutely Amazing tribute for The Original No Humanity Tribrid Hope Andrea Mikaelson My Favorite Version of Hope Mikaelson in Legacies and My Favorite Character and Antagonist’s in Legacies. Danielle Rose Russell did a Phenomenal Performance showing that all The Love, Kindness and Loyalty has been stripped away and the only thing that’s left is Anger, Resentment and Pain showing that Hope Mikaelson has become a literal shell of her former self.

What I think about is klaus did all the horrible things with his humanity on and she done all the horrible things with it off. So to me he is still more ruthless and he killed both his parents.
aurora torturing scenes had many throwback to tvd to when Damon and Stefan torture Elenas humanity by burning her 2:28 And somehow this scene scared me for some reason it made me realise that hope had completely gone off the rails Hope is beating Caroline and Elena without their humanity hope is Completely insane

Honestly hope is way more ruthless then them well maybe expect caroline cause she literally killed a few people with no humanity.

I feel like hope could have been such an memorable character if the writers had written her properly. At first she was just boring and her love story with Landon wasn’t enjoyable to watch. Now, it just seems that her ‘no-humanity’ storyline is just dragging. At first I was excited, but now it’s no longer fun. Now the only character I’m excited to see is Lizzie.
P.s this is not a hate comment. As a tvd/to watcher I expected a lot from legacies, especially since I loved hopes storyline in to. So, what I got was kind of disappointing. Ig this is what happens when you expect too much.

@@tmd-w1552 I think that's what this episode is about. The writers aren't backing down they are ramping up. The torture scene with Aurora is probably the most brutal thing we have seen on Legacies, much more like the Originals or TVD and that kill at the end evokes not so much Klaus as Damon Salvatore waiting to have existential struggles in the road and then killing their victims, although in this case it appears she was trying to re-traumatize herself by making herself a proper monster (up until now she had not yet killed an innocent human) to be able to "flip her switch" (repress more fully) her bubbling humanity. Which suggests that now that she has gone over the moral cliff she is gonna be more brutal.
