Seeing American GSDs with their sloped backs is painful for me as it is probably painful for the dogs. No dog should walk on their pasterns! In police work, the tendency is to get their dogs from the Czech Republic or maybe from Germany as these dogs have level backs.
The German show line is where it should've stayed a little bit of a sloped back but not exaggerated and still able to do work, healthy and more family friendly, American show lines should be illegal the animals are suffering
The german Showline has sloped backs as well! They may be tested for HD and ED, but they still look unhealthy. Also, most of the dogs you showed for the west german working line are malinois!
White GSDs aren't supposed to exist ( by bei g put down at birth, and still are in many countries) a d cannot be shown in the states but Americans seem to like them. And regardless of the previous comment, the white SD was a purebred. They tend to look a bit different than their normal colored counterparts.
GSDs is slowly becoming my fav dog breed as I have just adopted a GSD puppy last week.
I had a few in my life I got 1 now he is my everything.

I have one with a straight back I can’t handle it when I see the breeders slope their back
@@wk8000 You and me both! I'm glad that my new GSD granddad has a straight back.
None of ours ever had sloping backs . 9 excluding the five puppies.
German shepherds with sloped backs make me sad
Why
Agreed

I know, ...... they look deformed and like they are hurting to walk/run.
Never breed the sloped back GSDs.

The white shepherd is a genetic mutation, not eligible for showing. But it is still a pure bred GSD.
In my time it was known as a runt of the litter
