That's Bull and you know it. Lewis is right this time. He started from the fucking pit lane to third. Why in the world should he let anyone passed him? And if you hear Lewis' response to the team orders, he said he wouldn't SLOW DOWN for Nico. IF Nico caught up to him, he'd have no problem letting him through. Nico didn't even come close to catching up to Lewis enough to get through. Would Nico have SLOWED DOWN for Lewis if the situation was reversed? FUCK NO.
DDonovan Lewis would definitely have finished behind Nico. The soft tyres towards the end gave 3 to 4 seconds per lap advantage for Nico. Did you see how Daniel Ricciardo overtake Lewis and Fernando easily? In addition, Lewis's tyres would already be gone by then. And you can see at the end of the race, Nico was right on Lewis's tail... If Lewis let him by, he would have lost at least two seconds to lift off and let him pass on the straights. This would have made Lewis fall back behind Nico by the end of the race.
You are right mate. Although I am not a Vettel fan I respected his decision to pass Webber. I am here for the racing not this artificial team orders crap.
There was a huge difference when Vettal passed Webber in that race. Difference being Vettal was so clear ahead in points he was going to win the championship anyway, it would of just been a NICE thing to do to allow Webber to hold 1st and him come 2nd. Mercedes got it wrong with this team order. They clearly have the advantage in the constructors championship and these two guys are fighting for the drivers championship. Let them win in the race with speed and talent, not with orders.
Mercedes wanted the race win. Even if you're easily in possesion of the fastest car, you still need to work hard and maximise everything. That's how F1 is. No matter how you dominate as a team, you'll always be hungry to get as much poles, wins, podiums, 1-2s, fastest laps and just about maximum points. Mercedes didn't take stuff for granted. They had the best car in 2016, however they didn't have as many 1-2s because things went wrong in the races or with reliabilty, bad luck for Lewis in traffic, qualifying and because some skilled drivers (Vettel, Verstappen, Ricciardo) made the difference with their talent. So they were split several times by a RedBull or by 2, and occasionally a Ferrari, quite a couple of times. So strategy always matters. However yes they should've not given that teamorder. Rosberg didn't deserve to win if he couldn't have made it past Lewis. I mean his pace advantage was huge, how was he going to pass Alonso even, let alone Ricicardo?
I can understand Mercedes wanting Nico to get past Lewis, because he was on different stragegy on the quicker tyre. You're not a real Formula One fan if you don't know how aerodynamic cars work. It's not as simple as driving up behind him and overtaking, Nico was definately faster as this point, but can't get close because of turbulant air, and Hungary is a notoriously difficult circuit to overtake, even with DRS. That being said, Lewis did exactly the right thing, the team just didn't know it at that point, if he had slowed and let Nico go, he could have lost 2-3-4 seconds in the maneuver, which would have made huge difference at the end of the race. He finished 3rd just a fanny hair ahead of Nico, had he not defended this position, he would have finished a certain 4th. It's not Nico's fault, It's not Lewis' fault, it was lack of foresight from the Mercedes team.

@@best___0999 yes but there is a clear difference between ham/alo and ver/per. ham/alo was dirty tricks to win a title..... perez was a dirty trick to qualify p1 and verstappen was no dirty trick, just going as fast as he could and stay in front. and verstappen doesnt fuck up his teammates chances, he beats him by being faster, what lewis alonso and perez did was beating their teammate by playing dirty games.
Team orders are awful in racing. As a driver, I did what I needed to do to put myself in the winning position, not my team mate. The point of a team mate is to share information between each other and help each other out during the race. When the race is on the line however, it's winner take all.
I agree that sometimes team orders are neccassary if in regards to the constructors championship but that is already in the bag, in this case totally unneccessary. Why on earth would hamilton ever let his main rival pass him especially when he would have had to drop 2seconds to do so which would have cost him another place by the end. Come on merc keep the orders for when they are truely needed. Awesome drive as always by Hamilton!

he wasn't any near to Hamilton, he only tried to attack and overtake on last lap... so well done Hamilton to have kept your position.. you well deserved it, if he had more he would have overtaked earlier
'The Mercedes are free to race, provided they don't take each other out.' 'Ok Lewis, if you could just slow down and let Nico pass please.' Some racing they let the Mercedes do that day.
Were you not listening at the beginning. They wanted Nico to do through because he still had another stop. Hamilton didn't. They wanted to make sure Nico was overtaken when he made the stop.
Yeah but still, if a team allows both their drivers to race, they shouldn't be giving team orders to let one another past. And besides, what did Mercedes think was going to happen anyway? Nico and Lewis were fighting for the championship. Would you have taken that risk if you were in Hamilton's position? Because I wouldn't; I would've taken every advantage I've got.
It's crazy to look back at this. What if Hamilton let roseberg go by it would've been a different ending to the f1 season. Meaning Roseberg would've definitely won the championship. Good job Hamilton. Let this be a lesson, you fight to the end.
keith murray How Rosberg would've won the championship? Difference between 3rd and 4th places was just 3 points in Hungary. Nico at the end didn't even score a single point at last race's double points. It was a dramatic championship, but Lewis was always the strong man in every race (yes he would've won Monaco too if someone didn't cheat in Qualy).
Considering they are both fighting for the championship, with practically no opposition except eachother, good that he didn´t let him pass, it would be incredibly stupid helping your biggest rival on the fight for the championship title. And Nico asking why? Well, because you have to fight for it? Hello??
The battle for the Constructor's Championship is already essentially over. There is not much points left to be gained by trailing teams and I highly doubt that Mercedes won't score enough points in the next 3 races to secure the Constructors. It's now a battle for the Driver's Championship, let them fight it out.
From a neutral viewpoint being a Kimi fan (yeah he needs a kick). I believe that Hamilton won the first races of the season showing Nico Rosberg that he has to bring more this year than against his previous teammate Michael Schumacher. However Nico has been silently following a game plan all along . However in this 2014 Hungarian race the game plan failed for Nico Rosberg an the Mercedes are losing face because this is being revealed. Nico Rosberg Desirves to win races but Lewis is doing Amazing things (almost impossible things) with that machine even if almost every single race his car mysteriously fails to qualify.
Hamilton: *Doesn’t let Rosberg through* People: “Good on him! Real racing drivers don’t abide by team orders!” Checo: *Asks team to let him and Ocon race* People: “WTF! What’s his problem! He should retire! Always listen to your team!”
This is how I view it: Hamilton is employed by Mercedes. Mercedes want as many points in a race as possible. Nico could have finished higher up the field if Hamilton let him through, instead Mercedes finished 3rd and 4th. However, If i was Hamilton and I heard that message after starting from the pit lane and overtaking 19 cars, I would be pretty cheesed off. Its really a case of the team's perspective against Hamilton's perspective. Both are valid. But if you compare this team order scenario against ones such as Nico letting Lewis through in Monaco, then you're really deluded.
People remember in 2014 when Hamilton was asked by the team to let Nico pass in Hungary because he was on the opposite tire strategy and Hamilton refused.
I had a lot of respect for Nico at the beginning of the year. That is all gone. I think he's nothing but a cry baby and a cheat. Never in this race did he look threatening enough for lewis to give up his position.
Mercedes missed a trick I'm this race if they'd have pulled Lewis in a lap before Rosberg and put him on the tyres he hadn't used in qualifying he'd have best both Alonso and Riccardo
Toto, it's obviously been a phenomenal season for Mercedes so far, but when did you know, or start to realize, that you were in good shape? Toto Wolff (It was the Spanish GP wend we realize the car was phenomenal so we started to be sabotaged Lewis in favor of Nico. This will be great for the team to have a German driver win the World Champion. The engineer will also get more credit for winning the Championship with Nico than Lewis. We can pull this off undercover of misfortune and bad luck to Lewis Hamilton.
the reason is because nico let lewis through before when lewis joined. nico said after the race remember this. And hence why nico was annoyed because nico has helped hamilton but it was returned.. typical hamilton.. the slimey rat cunt he is but the british lap him up like he is a hero
Team orders should be heavily penalised. If drivers racing each other means there is a risk of neither finishing, tough. F1 is about racing, not keeping the cars in good condition. Sure, they should be allowed to ask their drivers to ease off if their lead is good enough, but not to the extend of affecting the race.
I am reading comments and I can see almost none of you watched the race... Nico was too far from Lewis, so if Lewis could let him through we would loose about 1.5 or 2 seconds... Nico just could not get close enough and still he was asking Lewis to let him pass.... why should Lewis loose that 1.5 or 2 seconds because of Nico?????
There is none so blind as those too biased or ignorant to see. Nico knew what he was doing, hang back and get the team to do the work for him. But with all he had gone through Lewis refused as would any reasonable thinking person.
People may say that Hamilton was being a dick, but he was being a racing driver, I race stock cars over in Northern Ireland and never once have I let a car past on purpose even if I'm slower, if another driver wants past they can go the long way, and I expect the same from other drivers, if your gonna let people by then you aren't racing anymore
oh my god listen!! he didn't ignore team orders, he said im not slowing down to let Nico through. In other words he can catch me up and then ill not make it difficult to overtake me. But i suppose the haters will always look for things to moan about.
first let me say I am british but everytime I listen to interviews I cannot understand that you say Mercedes want a german to win the drivers championship, To me it seems obviously clear that the team principles favour Hamilton
I watched this race and nico was just not close eniygh if I'm being honest for Hamilton not to lose time but that being said u can see nico was driving in dirty air and it was affecting him pretty badly as the mercs weren't too good at following other cars at that point. I get why Lewis said no but its still a team order at the end of the day and if it was the other way around nico would have got shredded for it. Why people say nico got favoured i will never know as after there first year they clearly favoured Lewis as he just had that little bit more raw pace were as nico was more of a race day man but was still very fast and got a good few poles. Got more in one year than bottas got in 4 😂. I'm 2015 they definitely started favouring Lewis and hasn't stopped since and think that was also a big reason why nico retired. Being the world champion and still being the number 2 in some kind of weird way and I think that played on his mind at least that's my honest opinion. Wow 2014 seems not too long ago but here we are 7 years later and the mercs are still unbeatable 😂. Get lando in for when Hamilton retires as think 2023 might be his last year. All those young guns next year will be all over and Mercedes I think
Thats right ... if he is faster than Lewis as he said that means that he can pass him! ... the fact that they are in the same team doesnt mean that he can have free pass ... they both fight for the championship so Nico deal with it !
Hamilton is only right if Mercedes got it wrong in their estimation of best strategy for best total end result. Yet Hamilton doesn't have all the info that the team has....
From my point of view, Nico is behaving ridiculous this season. Nico just wasn't fast enough to get past Hamilton in Hungary. Lewis would've had to slow down on the straight to let Nico through. And there was no reason for that. As Hamilton said, "If he can get close for overtaking me, he can overtake". And Nico just wasn't close to him, most of the time, he wasn't even within the 1 second for DRS with Lewis. And in Belgium, Nico clearly touched Hamilton. As Niki Lauda AND Toto Wolff said, it was obviously Nicos mistake. Still, afterwards, Nico wouldn't admit that he was wrong. By the way: Technical failures during qualifying or race: Lewis 4 - 1 Nico. Hamilton would lead the championship by quite a margin if it wasn't for Nicos mistakes (Monaco and Belgium) and his own technical failures. I am a German myself, by the way. And I am neither a Lewis fan nor a Nico fan.
just one more point I believe they should scrap the drivers championship altogether and make it a team championship I do not think I need to tell you why
I would love to see nico starting from the pit-lane to 3rd, and then lewis comes and asks to let him get trough, and we gonna see which decision he takes, sure he won't let him passe, they are fighting for the championship;how the hell he want him to let him passe ? German logic, if lewis gave up his place for Nico = he is kind, nice guy but because he didn't = lewis is twat,arrogant...etc guys i bet 90% of you can't drive a formula 1 car till the first corner,so imagine your self battling from the pit lane and u came up to third, while u are fighting for the world champion and ur rivals is just on your back? will you let him? or u keep battling for the championship?so why u are driving? just to drive ? or to win awards and other things? just think about it,its not that easy, and its impossible .... Note:(if my english is bad, then I'm sorry,I'm not English,I'm Algerian).
They told Rosberg that Hamilton will let him through so he asked why he didn't do it. That's a normal reaction. Yep, i know that Hamilton fanboys will scream at me but oh well... EDIT: They actually don't.
Hamilton cries to the team radio in all races where he is not in front and don't have a clear lead. When Rosberg cries for the first time, these youtubers here hate Nico so much. That's funny. But the truth is that both of these overpowered-Mercedes drivers are nothing compared to Kimi, Alonso and Vettel - the only 3 REAL F1 drivers still standing. Not this kind of pussies who whine to team radio all the time. They show their pace at the track, not front of the media what Lewis and Nico does.

meanwhile 2022 people hating on max for not letting his teammate through without the extra pitstop and a few races after his teammate purposely crashed during qualifying to start in front of max
Wel tbf in 2014 they were fighting for the championship as team mates in Brazil it was over P6 when redbull already sealed both titles
@@best___0999 yes but there is a clear difference between ham/alo and ver/per.
ham/alo was dirty tricks to win a title..... perez was a dirty trick to qualify p1
and verstappen was no dirty trick, just going as fast as he could and stay in front.
and verstappen doesnt fuck up his teammates chances, he beats him by being faster, what lewis alonso and perez did was beating their teammate by playing dirty games.
Awesome drive as always by Hamilton!
this aged rather well😊
Well done Lewis, no way should he let Rosberg through. WTF. This is racing, let Rosberg do it the proper way.
@@DownloadARevolt20 Lewis and Nico go way back to when they were kids. They started the sport together on karting. This rivelry will be forever. Up till the day Nico retired.
Hamilton is definitely correct this time.
Is the German team don't like British driver?
its because germany lost to british in WW2
Agassi Krisna Germany lost to Russia
Agassi Krisna Germany lost to Russia, not British.
So the Germans won the battle of Britain then? Because they sure as shit weren't fighting the Russians then!
Buckers0885 Hitler's last word : "it is Europa going to win this war, not Eurasia". Britain was never part of Eurasia. And Hitler committed suicide when red army (Stalin) entered Berlin, not British army. If it's a one on one between Hitler and Britain, today we don't say good morning but guten morgen.
he wasn't any near to Hamilton, he only tried to attack and overtake on last lap... so well done Hamilton to have kept your position.. you well deserved it, if he had more he would have overtaked earlier
no driver should pull over and let the rival team mate through, even if you was in the caterham

'The Mercedes are free to race, provided they don't take each other out.'
'Ok Lewis, if you could just slow down and let Nico pass please.'
Some racing they let the Mercedes do that day.
+syjkvvfd no no rosberg wasn't close enough thats why hamilton refused to slow down.
Everyone crying about Max and here we have Hammy doing the same.
Exactly. Lewis was 29yrs old and he denied team orders and Max is 25yrs old now and everyone is going crazy on him.
Agree but 2014 they were fighting for a title fight in 2022 it was over P6 with both championship already sealed
Hello??
when did he ever say "I'm not letting Nico through"? he said "I'm not slowing down for Nico"
Haters always use lies and distortion because reality is never enough to support their bullshit.
Yeah exactly. It's ridiculous. They can't just keep taking drivers' words out of context like this!
Real racing drivers don’t abide by team orders!”
Checo: *Asks team to let him and Ocon race*
People: “WTF! What’s his problem! He should retire! Always listen to your team!”
Those are F1 'fans' for you.

Reverse affirmative action.
But fuck the team radio bit. The race had one of the most dramatic ending
This is how I view it:
Hamilton is employed by Mercedes.
It's obvious that Nico couldn't have beaten Alonso and Ricciardo if he wasn't able to get ahead of Hamilton
3-4 was the best they could've done.
Why isn't he letting me through?
People remember in 2014 when Hamilton was asked by the team to let Nico pass in Hungary because he was on the opposite tire strategy and Hamilton refused.
Facts that is why nico was aggressive in Belgium the next race and hd made contact with lewis nico realised he had to up his game
i race lawnmowers, i would never let the chick behind me thru. having his period is no excuse.
It's racing, not charity. Nico is Lewis's main (only?) challenger for the title. The team is not desperate for maximum points. Lewis was 100% correct.
Checo should consider doing thus to Verstappen
He needs to be in front of Max first for that to happen...
He doesn’t want to let people pass but he now a days want to easily pass people
Niki Lauda is not German - he is Austrian. Born in Vienna.
Toto Wolff is not German either - he is Austrian too. Also - like Lauda - born in Vienna.
If the team telling Rosberg that Lewis is going to let him through and nothing happens ill be pissed to. Rosberg never asked to be let through.
How do you know that, there is so much we don't hear.
wheresthe race where he says something like this i cant find it lewis says
"why hes not letting me through" "I TOLD YOU" please help
It seems that everyone has forget malaysia 2013
Now Lewis is having his own taste of It with Max,thank god we have this boy now because i just hate his ego
nico did let him through in Monaco
holy crap!! thats not my real name by the way. and my credit score sucks. i have warrants.
2022 Sao Paulo GP
Rosberg should have been a Ferrari driver.. they're famous for letting pass 1st driver!
Absolute proof Nico was coached from the pits- Since the ban he has gone backwards as he is no longer spoon fed.
I had a lot of respect for Nico at the beginning of the year. That is all gone. I think he's nothing but a cry baby and a cheat. Never in this race did he look threatening enough for lewis to give up his position.
Nico is allways happy, Lewis is not, he resents, hates and finally will loose, not just in F1 but in life. You'll see. Happier people allways win!!!
5 championships later lmao.
Mercedes missed a trick I'm this race if they'd have pulled Lewis in a lap before Rosberg and put him on the tyres he hadn't used in qualifying he'd have best both Alonso and Riccardo
Its a shame they just let hamilton do this... Imagine if bottas did sg like this now, not letting lewis through
Toto, it's obviously been a phenomenal season for Mercedes so far, but when did you know, or start to realize, that you were in good shape?
Toto Wolff (It was the Spanish GP wend we realize the car was phenomenal so we started to be sabotaged Lewis in favor of Nico. This will be great for the team to have a German driver win the World Champion. The engineer will also get more credit for winning the Championship with Nico than Lewis. We can pull this off undercover of misfortune and bad luck to Lewis Hamilton.
am not slowing down for nico get close and over taking me nico he had the message nico he had the message nico SPOIL BRAT rosberg is
the reason is because nico let lewis through before when lewis joined. nico said after the race remember this.
Nico didn't get close enough to pass Lewis at any point. Bullshit!
People may say that Hamilton was being a dick, but he was being a racing driver, I race stock cars over in Northern Ireland and never once have I let a car past on purpose even if I'm slower, if another driver wants past they can go the long way, and I expect the same from other drivers, if your gonna let people by then you aren't racing anymore
racing is 1 thing, but respecting team orders is another. if the team asks you to let him through, you let him through
oh my god listen!! he didn't ignore team orders, he said im not slowing down to let Nico through. In other words he can catch me up and then ill not make it difficult to overtake me. But i suppose the haters will always look for things to moan about.
What is the name of the person speaking with Lewis?
Peter Bonnington (Lewis's team engineer)
Ming Kang Seet Thank you :)
first let me say I am british but everytime I listen to interviews I cannot understand that you say Mercedes want a german to win the drivers championship, To me it seems obviously clear that the team principles favour Hamilton
Compare this to the Bottas and Hamilton situation.
Get closer and overtake? Why not do the same with Bottas in front of you huh?
Everyone seems to have forgotten when Lewis gave a place back to Bottas and how angry Nikki/team was that he did that.
I heard that Lewis Hamilton is going to plant kisses on Nico Rosberg's arse.
of course not come on it is a race!!
Who's The Guy speaking to Lewis actually ?
peter bonninghton his race engineer
It'll be his engineer, don't know his actual name sorry
Thats right ... if he is faster than Lewis as he said that means that he can pass him! ... the fact that they are in the same team doesnt mean that he can have free pass ... they both fight for the championship so Nico deal with it !
Verstappen 2015 Singapore ;)
+Harry Jean Charles
NOOO....! hahahaha
German logic,
if lewis gave up his place for Nico = he is kind, nice guy
but because he didn't = lewis is twat,arrogant...etc
guys i bet 90% of you can't drive a formula 1 car till the first corner,so imagine your self battling from the pit lane and u came up to third, while u are fighting for the world champion and ur rivals is just on your back?
will you let him? or u keep battling for the championship?so why u are driving? just to drive ? or to win awards and other things?
just think about it,its not that easy, and its impossible ....
Note:(if my english is bad,then I'm sorry,I'm not English,I'm Algerian).
i mean her.
Lewis Basically dosent have a team anymore Merc is just favoring Rosberg, so hamilton just is by himself
Somebody explain why Nico wants Lewis to let him through? Why the fuck would Lewis let him through? Wasn't it a fucking race?
They're on the same F1 team, and Lewis wasn't being a team player
They told Rosberg that Hamilton will let him through so he asked why he didn't do it. That's a normal reaction. Yep, i know that Hamilton fanboys will scream at me but oh well...
EDIT: They actually don't.
I don't understand the orders at all. Their cars are so superior that either of them will become world champion anyway. So just let them race.
Hardy30680 I agree. But W05 proved to be not so superior when it comes to reliabbility.

And I remember Toto Wolff say some races ago that there won't be team orders.
Hardy30680 either they race or we can make this a schumacher-barrichello kind of year

Oh gosh, when I hear ''Alonso gained an advantage'' this is why Nico deserves to be a world champion instead of Hamilton.
***** did you even read my comment?
You should listen to rosberg at canada when lewis couldn't brake for the chicane if you want to hear someone crying
Oh gosh, your comment is pathetic and proves nothing. This is why you should stop watching formula 1, you're a disgrace to the real fans.
I'm glad Lewis did not let Nico pass..Lewis needs to remain focused and show Nico who is the boss. I have no doubt Lewis will win the remaining races of the 2014 season.
And Felipe lets hope the bad blood between them 2 stops but cant see it myself. My biggest argument is fairness and what i watched through the season i did not like.
