Heathen is such an amazing album. This album, was what his true fans had been patiently waiting for quite some time. It came about after his record company had rejected his previous album attempt called Toy. Apparently, he was quite hurt by this album rejection and so went back to the drawing board to formulate Heathen.
I love Bowie since I was a little kid. And I love his songs with isolated vocals. It shows his true range, depth and modulation raw and unfiltered. What a wonderful and unique voice he had. ❤ Your version is sublime. It adds a lot more melancholy and sadness to this song. Heathen is one of my favourite albums. Like Reality, Scary Monsters or Ziggy Stardust. It still hurts that hes gone.
The voice is never lauded. The intellectuality, poetic skill and showmanship he demonstrated is forever applauded but BOWIE's voice is one for the ages. That voice was a gift to the discerning ear. By contrast Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed and a thousand more sound barbarous.

Inspired. Une facette cachée de David que j' ai plaisir à découvrir et entendre. Cela reste entre nous. Pour l' éternité. Même après son passage sur terre, il est près de Vous de Moi de Nous. Vivant. Si proche. Aimant.
@@poejineapples8717 I once heard a version of Bowie singing China girl "isolated vocal" accompanied by piano playing a completely different chord progression to the original, it sounded other worldly. Good luck with your version of Sunday.
@@davidwatkins204 i'll have to have a look for that, it is interesting the different feel you get from different production of the same song isn't it, can change it so much. Thanks.
@@poejineapples8717 hi @poe, it was the original vocal isolated, accciompanied probably by Mike Garson playing a completely different chord progression as if it was a different song .

I feel like every ten years or so he would make a great album then in between he would sort of skate. It used to piss me off- back in the day we couldn’t sample music. We’d have to buy a recording and then find out it wasn’t good.

Thanks for your comment. Glad you like my mix. I agree. Worlds less cool without Bowie.
This song always gives me chills of melancholy, feelings of good-bye (for now). Soul touching, in every single version... 🧡✨
Thx so much!
Interesting version. I absolutely LOVE this song. You can play it on repeat for hours and never really tire of it. Just layers of beautiful melancholy

Who plays piano in these Bowie ‘piano & vocal’ ‘Poe Jineapple’ things, please.

yes it was sporadic but when he did it he'd hit it out the park, outside, heathen and blackstar particularly.
Personally l love The Next Day.
