- Plants for the Arid Gravel Garden. In this video I visit Nobridge Garden Centre in Shropshire and do a short walking Tour whilst taking in some of the amazing variety of specimen plants. David and his team are always on hand to give expert gardening advice and plant care tips. Friendly and approachable, I always learn something about a plant or gardening when I visit Nobridge.
Please do visit and support Nobridge if you get chance (I have no commercial relationship with Nobridge, I just think it’s an amazing place and cannot recommend it highly enough), here are their details:

Those Olive Trees are stunning
This place is about 45 minutes from home. I've been going there for a couple of years and never leave empty handed. Most of my plants are from there. David is incredibly knowledgeable. This year was the first time I took my 18 month old son who loved walking up and down the tree fern alley! I always go for my birthday or if I'm after something special 😊
Those big blue agaves are so beautiful!
Aren't they just? I was like a child in a sweet shop
Hesperaloe parviflora is a must have for a UK arid bed. Super hardy and stunning flowers!
I couldn't even pronounce it lol. I better pop back and buy one then
@@MarksHouseandGardenUK 😂 think of it as 'hesper aloe' - hesper from Greek for evening or west (ie. an aloe that grows in the west - America rather than Africa)
I have suggestions! Don’t know if they are available in the UK. I’m a native Texan, there are peculiar natives that have stunning flowers. I would suggest an ocotillo. I don’t know a common name or botanical name. There is also a cholla cactus. Apparently, cylindropunta is a large genus. I’m only familiar with one species. Beautiful yellow flowers and interesting dead flower stalk. Perfect black widow habitat!
Great thanks for these suggestions. I'll add them to my wish list and look them up. Mark
I would love to go there the plants are amazing but way too steep on price if you ask me.😬😂👌👌👌👌
