dude they blew this song away. i remember chillin wit my brothers and my dad and listining to the original version. amazing song.
HOLY CRAP... that was the most epic stage exiting I've ever seen from a band... THAT LEFT ME SO PUMPED... o.o. Dear God.
They knocked this song out the park. This is my second favorite song of theirs, my absolute favorite is Superman. Concerts were so much better back then before every idiot starting holding up their phones to record it.
I've always though the original song would be awesome in a punk cover... Thanks Goldfinger !

It was done by a German band, Nena, back in the 80's as "99 Luftballoons" and then impressively covered by Reno straight-edge punks 7 Seconds, which is thhe version that this one owes much love to.

@craigmacnaughton This is a cover version for sure, the orginial release of this song is going back to the mid eighties, to the phenomenon of the so called "neue deutsche welle" (new german wave) , and was sung by Nena, completly in german language, later on she realeased an english version.

I'm German and i know the original form "Nena - 99 Luftballons" and this is soooo much fuckin better i looooove it!
People say this is a cover, but THIS is the only one I know. This one's for LOVERS, AND for ARIZONA (which turns 99 years old today).
Goldinger! The first concert I took my nephew to, they're SO great live. (BTW, the guitarist on the left was Cameron Diaz's "retarded" brother in, "There's Something About Mary). - Last verse is in German, & so is the high step at the end.
This guitarist is good, but I'm so happy Charlie's back!! :)

i missed the warped tour i wanted to see reel big fish and goldfinger. i live in las vegas and couldnt get to it becuase i used to be upper middle class and "the man" decided we need to be borderline poverty and lose our house.

No they are americans, but the german is pronounced quiet well and you can understand what he is singing. Of cource when you know the original bei nena, then you know those lines in german.
