I went into GC weekend w hopes and expectations of something new and relevant to all we see going on. I was disappointed. Then, a couple nights ago, I prayed that as I re-listened to GC, I’d be shown, “what is of most value for me to know?” “Is there anything Thou would have me sacrifice in my life?” And, “How am I doing and how can I do better?” I’m re-listening to a couple talks a day and having a complete different experience w a strong sense that these men are of God.
I agree. However, even the first time I LOVED Saturday morning session. I felt like there was a lot of talk about love, being Christlike, united and growing our faith. I feel like they are trying to help us become a Zion people.
Yessah! Elder Eyrings talk was incredible! And we’ve been promised that if we’re pure in heart. Jesus Christ will unveil himself to us. And I hope that our eye of faith is worthy of seeing him soon.
I struggles with one talk in this conference!! I caused me to study more, relisten & relisten to the talk!! I've finial come to peace with it!! But I'm here to say that all the work to bring this peace has increased my the spirit on this matter!! I am better off because of this!! We all need to find our own way through this. We need to do what we've been told many times study, pray, & follow the spirit!! Brother Palmer THANK YOU!!!
To help me completely understand the meaning behind Elders Oak's talk from April Conference, I will take the advice of Bruce R. McConkie. I received this advice when I first joined the Church and it has come true for me many, many times. "When we find seeming conflicts. It means we have not yet caught the full vision of whatever points are involved. DO NOT commit yourself to a position which is contrary to that espoused by the Prophets and Apostles who preside over the kingdom. STUDY, PRAY, WORK IN THE CHURCH, and await further light and knowledge. DO NOT commit yourself to the defense of a false cause. Study something else and await the day when you will be prepared for more light on the matter that troubles you. Faith comes and revelations are received as a direct result of scriptural study." (Bruce R. McConkie)
We want to follow Christ. We want to be bold in seeking his kingdom but there is no man in whom you can blindly put your trust. Jeremiah 7 5 Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. 6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited. 7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not [c]fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit. Joseph Smith himself faltered more than once while being called by God. Here is one example from D&C 3 9 Behold, thou art Joseph, and thou wast chosen to do the work of the Lord, but because of transgression, if thou art not aware thou wilt fall. Lehi was led into the dreary wasteland by a man dressed in white that bade him to follow and he was not delivered until he left off following the man in white and called unto God himself. 1 Nephi 8 5 And it came to pass that I saw , and he was ; and he came and stood before me. 6 And it came to pass that he spake unto me, and. 7 And it came to pass that AS I FOLLOWED HIM I beheld myself that I was in a. 8 And after I had traveled for the space of many hours in darkness, I began to pray unto the Lord that he would have mercy on me, according to the multitude of his tender mercies. 9 And it came to pass after I had prayed unto the Lord I beheld a large and spacious afield. 10 And it came to pass that I beheld a tree, whose fruit was desirable to make one happy. You can not put your salvation in the hand of ANY MAN. That doesn't mean that we should disrespect the leaders in the church, but we should not look to them for salvation. Christ said 'straight is the gate and narrow the way that leads to salvation and FEW there be that finds it. 3 Nephi 11 31 Behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, I will declare unto you MY DOCTRINE. 32 And this is MY DOCTRINE, and it is ; and I bear record of the Father, and the Father beareth record of me, and the Holy Ghost beareth record of the Father and me; and I bear record that ----> the Father commandeth all men, everywhere, to repent and believe in me. 33 And whoso believeth in me, and is baptized, the same shall be saved; and they are they who shall inherit the kingdom of God. 35 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that this is MY DOCTRINE, and I bear record of it from the Father; and whoso believeth in me believeth in the Father also; and unto him will the Father bear record of me, for he will visit him with fire and with the Holy Ghost. 36 And thus will the Father bear record of me, and the Holy Ghost will bear record unto him of the Father and me; for the Father, and I, and the Holy Ghost are one. --- Now Christ repeats his doctrine so that we can not misunderstand --- 37 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and become as a little child, and be baptized in my name, or ye can in nowise receive these things. ---Now Christ repeats his doctrine so that we can not misunderstand---- 38 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and be baptized in my name, and become as a little child, or ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God. --- Now Christ warns us not to establish more or than this for his doctrine. -- 39 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that this is my doctrine, and whoso buildeth upon this buildeth upon my rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against them. 40 And whoso shall declare more or less than this, and establish it for my doctrine, the same cometh of evil, and is not built upon my rock; but he buildeth upon a sandy foundation, and the gates of hell stand open to receive such when the floods come and the winds beat upon them. 41 Therefore, go forth unto this people, and declare the words which I have spoken, unto the ends of the earth. No where in the scriptures does it tell us to follow the prophet and we will be saved in the kingdom of God. They can act as a mouth piece for God and they can point us to Christ but they do not take us by the hand and lead us to salvation. Each virgin is responsible for his or her own lamp. They can not get oil from any person. The oil comes from seeking Christ through his scriptures and the Holy Spirit.
“We’re gonna see our testimonies challenged”, those 6 words brought me such peace. I felt like I had been punched in the gut after GC. I’m going to go back and listen again with this new perspective. Thank you.
I live in farm country and have some experience in crops. The grain fields are harvested, the fully ripe/drying seed is gathered, the dried plant matter is baled, and the stubble is burned or grazed, which adds nutrients back into the soil for the next crop. Think of each stage as an example of the kingdoms of glory. The grain is celestial, the straw is terrestrial, and the stubble is telestial. And to add to the harvest analogy, the process of separating the grain from the plant is called thrashing. It's not a gentle name for a reason
Barley is first fruits of the field. They actually fall off into your hand and don't need to be threshed. Wheat needs to be threshed. I pray to be barley.
Please do not apologize anymore. The Lord does not want us to be lukewarm. If others have a problem, please just ignore them. Do not reward bad behavior by giving it so much attention. I delight and am affirmed by your insights as are all those other COWS. Those who don't can find other sites they can find solace in. Please, I come to hear you!!
'The Lord has placed responsibility for directing the work of the gathering in the hands of the leaders of the church to whom he will reveal his will where and when such gatherings would take place in the future. It would be well-before the frightening events concerning the fulfillment of all God's promises and predictions are upon us, that the Saints in every land prepare themselves and look foreword to the instruction that shall come to them from the First Presidency of the church as to where they shall be gathered and not be disturbed in their feelings until such instruction is given to them as it is revealed by the Lord to the proper authority.' Pres Harold B Lee conference 1948 I love this quote, really fits with the instruction we are being given to prepare spiritually, and that we have been invited to gather to the stakes of the Zion in our home lands for a while.
'Now we are entering times wherein there will be for all of us as church members, in my judgement, some special challenges which will require of us that we follow the brethren. All the easy things that the church has had to do have been done. From now on it's high adventure. And followership is going to be tested in some interesting ways' Elder Neal A Maxwell. 1979 I really feel that this has been true of the last few years.
One last quote- 'These secret combinations were spoken of by Joseph Smith years and years ago. I have heard him from time to time again tell about them, and he stated that when these things began to take place, the liberties of this nation would begin to be bartered away.' John Taylor. Interesting word- 'bartered' away
What I like most about conference and scriptures is that it is so personal. What we each receive is supposed to be on an individual basis. The Lord designed the gospel for each one of us, to help each one of us. You are so interesting to listen to. I love your perspective on things.
You’re right Grains ( wheat and oats and barley) come up green. So do the tares. As the crop ripens it turns gold...then white and ready to harvest. The tares DO NOT turn...they stay green and grow taller than the crop. Easy to separate and the farmer knows where to Burn and dig up
Maybe you have spoke about this before but you mentioned you have a different opinion on New Jerusalem. I would like to know on a deeper level on why you feel this way!! Thanks!
Thank you for understanding that it is not because we don't want to, but because trying to get kids through school, and soccer, and or any of the other normal life things. At this stage in life it is hard to focus the time, but listening to your insight helps a lot. Thank you
In my opinion, you are doing the most important thing. The simple task of taking on the responsibility of home and family is really the great teacher. You are learning the things of eternity. Thank you for your goodness.
Isn't it interesting that the Kirtland temple still stands untouched even though we don't control it. Something special happening there. Protected? I think so.
I thank you and Sue for your insights. You are very down to earth easy to understand. I am trying to put oil in my lamps and am feeling am short.. I know with our Savior we are not alone but it is a lonely challenging time. It is good to know you are there to help encourage us.... Fear not little flock. What is hard to always remember.!!! Thank you as we try to do our best and carry on. Thank you for your encouragement as we try to be good watchers and learn and grow to be with HIM again some day.
Love your sharing of your thoughts. If I find I am struggling with what is said in conference talks I know this is something I need to study and pray and be willing to change/correct course if directed. Challenges give us strength. Thank you for helping us add oil to our lamps.
Man, I appreciate you giving me a window of how to use the footnotes in the standard works. You have great depth on that and I appreciate the way you research before you speak. Thanks for your channel, you are doing slot of good out here in Zion.
Thank you for your honesty and insights....no need to apologize....you are sharing your thoughts, impressions and heart! I look forward to listing to your views.....
Great discussion. I am going to start reading those footnote scriptures. It adds a lot. I agree that the lamp being lit is not a one time thing. We should always have enough oil for our lamps. Thanks so much for adding to my understanding and explore for myself.
Hello from mom of five with add again. I’ll add something about myself again... I have chronic illnesses that reared their heads during general conference so I wasn’t able to listen deeply. I am very grateful for you and other watchers who put in your tidbits regarding recent sessions so I’m able to return to those talks and read thoughtfully. Here’s something interesting as I watched and listened. My sister who is part of a big United States armed forces family living overseas told me that she and her husband felt this sense of urgency to move back to Utah so she checked with many of her friends and found out that LDS people living overseas have been migrating in mass exodus for last three years. They all had that feeling that they had to get a place and get started on their food storage. Though that I’m unable to put in number to prove this piece of information, I’ll rely on my sister’s information for now. Also, I wanted to add that I strive to keep an open mind since I heard of examples of unbelief that have blinded many from noticing miracles and unimaginable events. I want so much to be able to learn many things that Heavenly Father want to share with us.
God needs warriors in this fight, not spectators. Keep speaking up, keep sharing your testimony and don't be afraid to offend others. That's their choice to be offended.
Hey Scott- my innate being is one that has always recognized truth and I haven’t been swayed away from the gospel by naysayers. I just keep moving forward. I don’t know what is ahead, but I trust we will each get through it according to Gods plan for each of us. I really love your UA-cam channel. It cements in my heart what I already know, and also absorbs new ideas and truths you share. Thanks for sharing your insights!
I love that you opened my thinking about the atonement. I spent last year studying the temple. Learning all that I could. I have so much still to learn but man what a year. I wish I could share with the entire church all that I learned and some of that is people look to the temple as a place to where you take out your endowments and do work for the dead and oh if you look at it from just that point there is SOOO much that you’ll miss. The temple is all tied together it’s not baptisms, then confirmation, then initiatories... It’s all tied together it all has purpose and what’s that purpose? It’s to find out WHO YOU ARE, And what your ment to be. All of it is one. You become washed clean of your sins and then you are consecrated with Holy Oil, and consecrated to be what? Kings and queens. Take time look into when they swore Queen Elizabeth II to be queen, Emperor Nicholas II of Russia. (Chapter 7 of endowed with power by Robert C Line) in the initory it’s our coronation per say to be kings and queens and when does that start? Some would say in the next life if you live worthy. No it starts in the endowment secession. Oh there is so much I wish I could share about the endowment but this would be a long post. You become Kings and Queens to your kingdom in the endowment. And Gods grandest and greatest creation is introduced. When?? In the endowment. Ever wondered why the men stand when Eve is introduced, it out of respect for the Lords greatest creation. Eve and who are we sisters? We are to consider ourselves as if we are Adam and Eve. You sisters are His greatest creation. (We’ve been blessed to be able to go to 3 endowment since the temples opened for live ordinances) My husband has since learning this at that part stands every time and turns to me and I cry every time because I feel of the love from him and from our Heavenly Father. The in the sealing we become one in our journey and given amazing promises if we will remain righteous and love each other with love in feigned. It all ties together. I now look at the atonement differently. It all ties together just like the temple. I had a time in my life when I was going through some pretty hard things. I didn’t understand why I was struggling so much to feel the Savior and I didn’t know why as I was looking for healing that he would turn away then. I justified how could the Savior really know what I was feeling. I could do almost anything as hard as it would be for 1 day. Try living with pain and hurt for 40 years. How could He know then I read the book the Saviors Final Week by Andrew Skinner as I read the book the impression came to me. My time isn’t your time and that when he was suffering for my pains in the garden that yes His body was there at that time but His spirit was with me in my time holding me and crying with me. That He is and always has been with me every time I needed Him to be there. I’ve never considered the atonement being like the temple that it’s events all tie together. So maybe in the garden is where he was tempted by Satan and took on the heart aches and pains from those who are hurting because of a result from someone else’s actions but on the cross is where He took on the sins??
I really enjoyed the talk by By Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong about The Wise Man and the Foolish Man. He said: Both the wise man and the foolish man were building a house. They want to provide their family with a safe and comfortable home. They desire to live happily together forever as a family, just like you and me. The surrounding situation was the same: “The rains came down, and the floods came up.” We sing it six times when we sing that song. The only difference is that the wise man built his house upon the rock and the house stood still, whereas the foolish man built his house upon the sand and his house washed away. Therefore, WHERE OUR FOUNDATION IS REALLY MATTERS , and this has a decisive effect on the outcome ultimately and eternally. D&C 10 says 64 Therefore, I will unfold unto them this great mystery; 65 For, behold, I will gather them as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, if they will not harden their hearts; 66 Yea, if they will come, they may, and partake of the waters of life freely. 67 Behold, this is my doctrine-whosoever repenteth and cometh unto me, the same is my church. 68 Whosoever declareth more or less than this, the same is not of me, but is against me; therefore he is not of my church. 69 And now, behold, whosoever is of my church, and endureth of my church to the end, him will I establish upon my brock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against them. So if you are a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or not if you do not come unto Christ you are not of His church. That is why the parable of the 10 virgins to warn us that even if we are among the virgins if we don't come to Christ we have no oil in our lamps and no one can do this for us. The Prophet can encourage us to have our own relationship with Christ but he can't do that for us.
I appreciate you and your wife for your honesty, and sharing your feelings as you guys work through the conference talks. Please keep sharing the talks with us and your thoughts as you go through them. It’s very validating for me to hear when others are struggling as well. It’s hard for me to hear talks on racism, I don’t understand the need. But like you guys, I will continue to read and study and try to understand. Please keep sharing your thoughts on conference!
I agree completely. We have a lot of time on our hands being in our 70th year.... The more we listen, study & read the more is revealed. Apply what is relevant to ourselves at any given time. We don’t judge and don’t feel that you do either. Moooooooooo! Thanks!
When we were asked to repent on the issue of racism, I felt I had little to repent of in that area. I like to repent with my heart, so I decided to pray about what it is that The Lord is trying to teach me personally because I truly wanted to repent if needed. It took a couple of weeks but the answer and reasons of the need to repent were quite different than I had ever considered. After my chastening, I was able to repent with my heart as needed. So grateful for personal revelation and the wise counsel that has been given.
The footnote attached to 'holy places' in President Nelson's talk includes D&C 45:31-33. I think it's interesting that even though the desolating sickness wasn't mentioned in the talk, he made sure to include in verse 31 in the footnote which precedes 'standing in holy places'.
I loved Elder Bednar's talk Sunday afternoon. Among other things I felt he was saying we need to let people govern themselves and stop telling each other what we think they should do. That whole idea of allowing each other to decide and do for themselves 🥰
Please, Preacher Palmer, stop worrying about the comments. Just share with us how you feel and what you know, and we will learn and grow from it. I like your talks very much. Don't worry about the nay-sayers . Either stop reading the comments or shake it off! :)
I have referred you to others, saying that you are a scripture scholar...I appreciate your insights, and awareness of the Gospel...there is no need to apologize for your convictions and knowledge. Those who criticize can study it out for themselves.
Speaking out and being against the grain gets pretty hot at times like your alone and that you may catch fire. Stand in the fire brother with faith and the light of Christ on your side, and you will not get burned.
I agree that it was finished while on the cross. I expect that bleeding at every pore was pretty physically painful in the garden as well. I had family at the Kirkland temple dedication.
Great stuff! I’ve been studying the Scriptures and when you were talking about the temple, this one came to mind; 1Corinthians 3:16 - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
lol - I hadn't even watched the video yet (I like to read some of the comments first) and this just cracked me up..... now I DEFINITELY have to watch the video.
He does come quickly to His temple....something that each of us should aspire to. 1 Corinthians 6:19 New Testament 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? My take...He will come to each of us quickly as we are sanctified unto Him. We each are individually a Temple unto the Lord. As we each should have learned when the lockdowns began, that our homes should be temples, and more that we each should be so dedicated to the Lord.
I apologize if my comments about Elder Andersen's talk came across gruffly. I was just trying to express what my feelings or impressions were from his talk. I appreciate your videos because they help me in my search of the scriptures, and I love to hear both of your thoughts and impressions.
Hold to Christ. Even prophets are just messengers. They do not stand between you and Christ. Christ is the one pleading our case before the father. If we want to come into his sheepfold we have to come through the gate. He said I am the door of the sheepfold John 10:7. We can not depend on anyone to lead us to Christ. We must find the path for ourselves. We received this admonition in D&C 1 19 The weak things of the world shall come forth and break down the mighty and strong ones, that man should not counsel his fellow man, neither trust in the arm of flesh- 20 But that every man might speak in the name of God the Lord, even the Savior of the world; 21 That faith also might increase in the earth; 22 That mine everlasting covenant might be established; Notice that we are to become firm in the Lord so that no one needs to counsel us but that everyone would speak in the name of the Lord. In other words that we would yield to Christ and become sanctified so that a Zion people can be established. This is the purpose for which the fullness was revealed in the Book of Mormon. This is when the Everlasting Covenant will be fulfilled or in Other words the fullness of the Gentiles will come in or can also be translated as the consumption of the Gentiles. When our marriage to Christ has been consummated when Zion has been established. This is our responsibility in these latter days. The earlier saints failed. The Lord tells us in D&C 101 vs 6 why they failed and then goes on to give us a parable about the way that he will redeem Zion. In the preface of the D&C in section 1 it says, search these commandments for they are true and faithful and the PROPHECIES and PROMISES which are in them shall all be fulfilled. The D&C is full of prophecies. Something that I just came to realize over the past few years. One of them explained to us that The house of God will be in disarray but God will send when mighty and strong, holding the scepter of power in his hand who will put his house in order. And the person who is in charge at that time will fall. D&C 85:7-9 The pattern for building Zion is to first have a people who are willing to sanctify themselves unto the Lord. In D&C 84 we have the example of Moses trying to establish a Zion people. 23 Now this Moses plainly taught to the children of Israel in the wilderness, and sought diligently to sanctify his people that they might behold the face of God; 24 But they hardened their hearts and could not endure his presence; therefore, the Lord in his wrath, for his anger was kindled against them, swore that they should not enter into his rest while in the wilderness, which rest is the fulness of his glory. The same happened with the early saints of this dispensation. They hardened their hearts and the church has been wandering in the wilderness waiting for the time that a remnant will choose to become a Zion people.
Part 2 of my comment: It will be a small remnant according to Isaiah ch 1 8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city. 9 Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah. We are the daughter of Zion. A church in the scriptures is always referred to as a woman. We are daughter of the attempted establishment of Zion by the saints in the time Joseph Smith. The end game is the Everlasting Covenant that Father made with Enoch. JST Genesis 21 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant, which I made unto thy father Enoch; that, when men should keep all my commandments, Zion should again come on the earth, the city of Enoch which I have caught up unto myself. 22 And this is mine everlasting covenant, that when thy posterity shall embrace the truth, and look upward, then shall Zion look downward, and all the heavens shall shake with gladness, and the earth shall tremble with joy; 23 And the general assembly of the church of the firstborn shall come down out of heaven, and possess the earth, and shall have place until the end come. And this is mine everlasting covenant, which I made with thy father Enoch. 24 And the bow shall be in the cloud, and I will establish my covenant unto thee, which I have made between me and thee, for every living creature of all flesh that shall be upon the earth. Just as the people of Moses were given a song which detailed their current and future relationship with the I AM; we have been given a song that we might know the purposes of the Almighty for us the Gentile church. It is found in section 84 and clearly sets forth that the Fulness or Consummation of the gentiles is the establishment of the Everlasting Covenant made with Enoch: 97 And plagues shall go forth, and they shall not be taken from the earth until I have completed my work, which shall be cut short in righteousness- 98 Until all shall know me, who remain, even from the least unto the greatest, and shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord, and shall see eye to eye, and shall lift up their voice, and with the voice together sing this new song, saying: 99 The Lord hath brought again Zion; The Lord hath redeemed his people, Israel,According to the election of grace,Which was brought to pass by the faithAnd covenant of their fathers. 100 The Lord hath redeemed his people; And Satan is bound and time is no longer. The Lord hath gathered all things in one.The Lord hath brought down Zion from above. The Lord hath brought up Zion from beneath. 101 The earth hath travailed and brought forth her strength; And truth is established in her bowels; And the heavens have smiled upon her;And she is clothed with the glory of her God;For he stands in the midst of his people. 102 Glory, and honor, and power, and might,Be ascribed to our God; for he is full of mercy,Justice, grace and truth, and peace,Forever and ever, Amen. Jeremiah, who was called to be a prophet to the gentiles describes this consumption in the following way in ch 31: 31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. The condition of the leaders of the Daughter of Zion is not good when we get to the winding up scene. Please understand I have spent 3 years struggling to accept what prophets say about the leaders. I still cringe to share this but we cannot walk in darkness at noon day. Isaiah 1: 5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. 6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment. Isaiah 9 14 Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. 15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. 16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. Isaiah 19 13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof. 14 The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit. 15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do. Isaiah 28 7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. 8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean. 9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. Ezekiel 34 1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks? 3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock. 4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. 5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them. 7 Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord; 8 As I live, saith the Lord God, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock; 9 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord; 10 Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them. Zephaniah 3 1 Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city! 2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the Lord; she drew not near to her God. 3 Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow. 4 Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. Notice the phrase POLLUTED in the previous scripture. The priests have polluted the sanctuary. This word helps us to understand that he is talking about us today. Our church. 38 O ye pollutions, ye hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have ye polluted the holy church of God? If we believe that we are the true church then who else could Moroni be referring to when he said, “ why have ye polluted the holy church of God?” Now let’s tie it to the D&C that we can not deny he is speaking to the Zion in Section 101 that must be redeemed. Here the people are told t hey are under condemnation. And the way we know they continued under this condemnation was because Zion has not redeemed. There is no Zion in Jackson county that has entered into the rest of the Lord. In other words Zion, the New Jerusalem has not come down from heaven to dwell with God’s people in Jackson County Missouri. D&C 84 54 And your minds in times past have been darkened because of unbelief, and because you have treated lightly the things you have received- 55 Which vanity and unbelief have brought the whole church under condemnation. 56 And this condemnation resteth upon the children of Zion, even all. 57 And they shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, even the Book of Mormon and the former commandments which I have given them, not only to say, but to do according to that which I have written- 58 That they may bring forth fruit meet for their Father’s kingdom; otherwise there remaineth a scourge and judgment to be poured out upon the children of Zion. 59 For shall the children of the kingdom pollute my holy land? Verily, I say unto you, Nay. D&C 110. Notice the warning in the verses below. His house was polluted and the saints were driven from Kirkland. 8 Yea, I will appear unto my servants, and speak unto them with mine own voice, if my people will keep my commandments, and do not pollute this holy house.
We are commanded to live by the law of the land so being okay with those illegal immigrants not having to follow out laws I will not go along with the people saying oh yea that’s great their here to hear the gospel I don’t buy that at all.
Too many are being hurt with this lawlessness to have this be ordained of God . We have missionaries in these countries . Why would abuse , graft and even rape be the “price “ of hearing the gospel when a phone call to the mission home will accomplish that ? If the Prophet announces that ALL people of the earth are to gather in the USA then most will be fine with No borders but I haven’t heard that .
Had similar experiences.
me too - it is almost like it was a different conference for me the second time around.
I agree. However, even the first time I LOVED Saturday morning session. I felt like there was a lot of talk about love, being Christlike, united and growing our faith. I feel like they are trying to help us become a Zion people.
@@carrieandra2408 yes. I agree! I picked up on that theme very quickly.

Yessah! Elder Eyrings talk was incredible! And we’ve been promised that if we’re pure in heart. Jesus Christ will unveil himself to us.
And I hope that our eye of faith is worthy of seeing him soon.
Good fences make good neighbors. A wall doesn't mean stay out, it says please use the door.
McConkie)
Love this
We want to follow Christ. We want to be bold in seeking his kingdom but there is no man in whom you can blindly put your trust.
Jeremiah 7
5 Thus says the Lord:
“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord.
6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,
And shall not see when good comes,
But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,
In a salt land which is not inhabited.
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not [c]fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Joseph Smith himself faltered more than once while being called by God. Here is one example from D&C 3
9 Behold, thou art Joseph, and thou wast chosen to do the work of the Lord, but because of transgression, if thou art not aware thou wilt fall.
Lehi was led into the dreary wasteland by a man dressed in white that bade him to follow and he was not delivered until he left off following the man in white and called unto God himself.
1 Nephi 8
5 And it came to pass that I saw , and he was ; and he came and stood before me.
3 Nephi 11
31 Behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, I will declare unto you MY DOCTRINE. 32 And this is MY DOCTRINE, and it is ; and I bear record of the Father, and the Father beareth record of me, and the Holy Ghost beareth record of the Father and me; and I bear record that ---->
the Father commandeth all men, everywhere, to repent and believe in me.
--- Now Christ repeats his doctrine so that we can not misunderstand ---
37 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and become as a little child, and be baptized in my name, or ye can in nowise receive these things.
---Now Christ repeats his doctrine so that we can not misunderstand----
38 And again I say unto you, ye must repent, and be baptized in my name, and become as a little child, or ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God.
--- Now Christ warns us not to establish more or than this for his doctrine. --
39 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that this is my doctrine, and whoso buildeth upon this buildeth upon my rock, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against them.
@@markallred6435 Solid stuff here...thanks Mark
@@BowenUSA I'm in wheat country, but I'm with you on wanting to be barley!!
Please do not apologize anymore. The Lord does not want us to be lukewarm. If others have a problem, please just ignore them. Do not reward bad behavior by giving it so much attention. 'The Lord has placed responsibility for directing the work of the gathering in the hands of the leaders of the church to whom he will reveal his will where and when such gatherings would take place in the future. It would be well-before the frightening events concerning the fulfillment of all God's promises and predictions are upon us, that the Saints in every land prepare themselves and look foreword to the instruction that shall come to them from the First Presidency of the church as to where they shall be gathered and not be disturbed in their feelings until such instruction is given to them as it is revealed by the Lord to the proper authority.' Pres Harold B Lee conference 1948
I love this quote, really fits with the instruction we are being given to prepare spiritually, and that we have been invited to gather to the stakes of the Zion in our home lands for a while.
I love your oil lamp, looks very authentic, did you get it from the Holy Land?

One last quote- 'These secret combinations were spoken of by Joseph Smith years and years ago. I have heard him from time to time again tell about them, and he stated that when these things began to take place, the liberties of this nation would begin to be bartered away.' John Taylor.
Interesting word- 'bartered' away
@@watcherpalmerlds I would love to have something so authentic. Amazing

Easy to separate and the farmer knows where to Burn and dig up
I’m asking everyone to fast this Sunday for the poor little children down on the boarder. The things that are happening to them is so very very sad.
Yes, but that is but the tip of the iceberg
Protected? I think so.
I heard that enemies of the church used not for a stable before also
I thank you and Sue for your insights. You are very down to earth easy to understand. I am trying to put oil in my lamps and am feeling am short..

He said:
Both the wise man and the foolish man were building a house.
D&C 10 says
64 Therefore, I will unfold unto them this great mystery;
65 For, behold, I will gather them as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, if they will not harden their hearts;
66 Yea, if they will come, they may, and partake of the waters of life freely.

Thanks for doing and sharing this. Im a mom of 4 ages 16-4 and it gets hard to dig in how I’d like oxo
Great insights!!
Another great scripture study 💜
I loved Elder Bednar's talk Sunday afternoon. Among other things I felt he was saying we need to let people govern themselves and stop telling each other what we think they should do. That whole idea of allowing each other to decide and do for themselves 🥰
Please, Preacher Palmer, stop worrying about the comments. Just share with us how you feel and what you know,
and we will learn and grow from it.
The prophets and apostles are very fine with you getting impressions as you listen to conference.

There are indeed a number of things that take place at or near the beginning of the Millennium and then again at or near the end.
Great stuff! I’ve been studying the Scriptures and when you were talking about the temple, this one came to mind;
1Corinthians 3:16 - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
I once did an impression of a fool, and everyone said i nailed it.!!!

He does come quickly to His temple....something that each of us should aspire to. 1 Corinthians 6:19
New Testament
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
My take...He will come to each of us quickly as we are sanctified unto Him. We each are individually a Temple unto the Lord. As we each should have learned when the lockdowns began, that our homes should be temples, and more that we each should be so dedicated to the Lord.
Just a thought, Pentecost, Shavuot, Feast of Weeks, is also feast of First Fruits of Wheat, (Exodus 34:22) D&C 86:1-7, D&C 88:98, May 23 2021.?
I apologize if my comments about Elder Andersen's talk came across gruffly. I was just trying to express what my feelings or impressions were from his talk. I appreciate your videos because they help me in my search of the scriptures, and I love to hear both of your thoughts and impressions.
No apology needed. You were right on. ❤️
@@watcherpalmerlds What about D&C 4, 20:59 (38-60), and 58:26-29 - it seems more nuanced to me - You have been ordained. Also D&C 84
President Nelson has 10 kids. “Nine splendid daughters and one precious son.” 😆
We received this admonition in D&C 1
19 The weak things of the world shall come forth and break down the mighty and strong ones, that man should not counsel his fellow man, neither trust in the arm of flesh-
20 But that every man might speak in the name of God the Lord, even the Savior of the world;
21 That faith also might increase in the earth;
22 That mine everlasting covenant might be established;
Notice that we are to become firm in the Lord so that no one needs to counsel us but that everyone would speak in the name of the Lord.
The pattern for building Zion is to first have a people who are willing to sanctify themselves unto the Lord. In D&C 84 we have the example of Moses trying to establish a Zion people.
23 Now this Moses plainly taught to the children of Israel in the wilderness, and sought diligently to sanctify his people that they might behold the face of God;
24 But they hardened their hearts and could not endure his presence; therefore, the Lord in his wrath, for his anger was kindled against them, swore that they should not enter into his rest while in the wilderness, which rest is the fulness of his glory.
The same happened with the early saints of this dispensation. They hardened their hearts and the church has been wandering in the wilderness waiting for the time that a remnant will choose to become a Zion people.
Hello from Arkansas 😊
Part 2 of my comment:
It will be a small remnant according to Isaiah ch 1
8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
JST Genesis
21 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant, which I made unto thy father Enoch; that, when men should keep all my commandments, Zion should again come on the earth, the city of Enoch which I have caught up unto myself.
22 And this is mine everlasting covenant, that when thy posterity shall embrace the truth, and look upward, then shall Zion look downward, and all the heavens shall shake with gladness, and the earth shall tremble with joy;
23 And the general assembly of the church of the firstborn shall come down out of heaven, and possess the earth, and shall have place until the end come.
It is found in section 84 and clearly sets forth that the Fulness or Consummation of the gentiles is the establishment of the Everlasting Covenant made with Enoch:
97 And plagues shall go forth, and they shall not be taken from the earth until I have completed my work, which shall be cut short in righteousness-
98 Until all shall know me, who remain, even from the least unto the greatest, and shall be filled with the knowledge of the Lord, and shall see eye to eye, and shall lift up their voice, and with the voice together sing this new song, saying:
99 The Lord hath brought again Zion; The Lord hath redeemed his people, Israel,According to the election of grace,Which was brought to pass by the faithAnd covenant of their fathers.
Jeremiah, who was called to be a prophet to the gentiles describes this consumption in the following way in ch 31:
31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Isaiah 1:
5 Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
Isaiah 9
14 Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.
15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
Isaiah 19
13 The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.
14 The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
Isaiah 28
7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
Ezekiel 34
1 And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
7 Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord;
8 As I live, saith the Lord God, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;
9 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord;
10 Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
Zephaniah 3
1 Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!
If we believe that we are the true church then who else could Moroni be referring to when he said, “ why have ye polluted the holy church of God?”
Now let’s tie it to the D&C that we can not deny he is speaking to the Zion in Section 101 that must be redeemed.
D&C 84
54 And your minds in times past have been darkened because of unbelief, and because you have treated lightly the things you have received-
55 Which vanity and unbelief have brought the whole church under condemnation.
56 And this condemnation resteth upon the children of Zion, even all.
57 And they shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, even the Book of Mormon and the former commandments which I have given them, not only to say, but to do according to that which I have written-
58 That they may bring forth fruit meet for their Father’s kingdom; otherwise there remaineth a scourge and judgment to be poured out upon the children of Zion.
Erying, Saturday Evening Priesthood
We are commanded to live by the law of the land so being okay with those illegal immigrants not having to follow out laws I will not go along with the people saying oh yea that’s great their here to hear the gospel I don’t buy that at all.
Too many are being hurt with this lawlessness to have this be ordained of God . We have missionaries in these countries . Why would abuse , graft and even rape be the “price “ of hearing the gospel when a phone call to the mission home will accomplish that ? If the Prophet announces that ALL people of the earth are to gather in the USA then most will be fine with No borders but I haven’t heard that .
Please fill us in on the inuendos that we may have overlooked during conference. Because Im sure I did.
So they’re building a train?
To the MediTRAINean?
