@@lt.danicecream Smurf toons in U50s has been a problem for so long. They should try the thing that BDO uses where there's specific servers for people who are new/ returning after an extended break to combat some of that.
@BlackBlazeGaming i played for roughly 9years. The way they should have fixed it was to have generic pvp sets. No crafted, drop, or dung sets allowed in u50. Pvp in this game is done. All the talk by zos is just to keep stringing the players along. Nothing will happen for the better when it comes to pvp
Seeing the forums post surrounding the livestream criticizing them and everything and then the ZOS devs basically just saying “hey don’t be mean” & “we don’t have to be god tier” is unreal. No one wants god tier. We just want the guy in charge of ALL combat to know how to heavy attack man come on
It really is that simple. Just... know how the combat system works. I don't expect him to have some super niche but highly effective build like a Relequen lightning staff heavy attack build, but knowing the fundamentals is not asking too much.
Im so out of the loop this is my first time hearing about this, bro didnt know heavy attacks restored resources, they really honest to god put a fucking flower picker in charge of combat.
He also didn't know set information, like what Rush of Agony does. Someone in chat suggested using the leash ability, and Wheeler said confidently that there's no leash skill in the game. But, uh, there is. The silver bolts morph....it's literally called leash. Not to mention being so out of touch he said he was running a tank/heal bot to be annoying to players... something players have been complaining about for the last two years. ESO devs are absolutely cooked.
I watched some people's clips they posted of the stream. It was pretty sad. Brian Wheeler had a troll king/oakensoul healer build. Troll King is a health recovery set that isn't very good for anything, particularly pvp due to burst damage. The guy kept dying after running out of resources because he admitted he didn't realize he could heavy attack to restore resources.
@misterbradity100 it was good until they nerfed health regen with battle spirit. 3k regen is a hell of a tick along with other heals, HoT or burst. Was, i should say
Being a casual game does not mean it should be a trash game. I was a templar main, PvP. Templars had good damage. Not like sork or NB even back then, but good enough to compete. And also some cleansing and HoTs. ZoS OVERnerfed templars, giving nothing in return, basically. Execute is more or less good, but you can't use it, if you can't put your target into execute range. And it's a lame channel. "Templar is good 1v1" they said. Yet we don't have any guarantees, that we get 1v1 in open world. More often then not we don't get 1v1. And the game itself insensitivities to play in groups (zergs or ball). So templar only became any good in duelling, which provides nothing. My main problem with that is this fact: core mechanics of the class do not work. First: You can't defend your holly ground. Game is very mobile, there are also ranged nuke builds. Second: You can't stack enough damage into power of the light. It tickles. Third: Cleansing 5 effects became a joke, because everyone now have a tonn of negatives to throw on you. Recasting is too expensive, and the heal itself is too small. Any other class with a bursty combo doesn't give a sht about your small HoTs. He will burst you with 40k+ combo damage before ritual even ticks. Basically, the less class skills you put on your bars, the more viable build you get. So in a whole, my problem is not even lack of damage itself. My problem is that ZOS didn't make sure, that the class mechanics actually work. Or give us new mechanics. And I'm an average person, not some tryhard. All the tryhards switch classes any time meta changes, and gap between players becomes even larger. There are a few god tier templars, but this gamers are even better on other classes, and they played since launch.
Templars got dicked on hard. They used to be top tier when DOTs were king due to their accessible cleanse, but now recasting DOTs is faster and cheaper than recasting the cleanse, Jabs is a pathetic hollow shell of what it once was, POTL is a joke as well, and the only thing they have left really is their execute meaning their entire kit boils down to spamming beam while other, more competent damage classes push enemies to execute range. Even in terms of healing they became the laughing stock. Wardens offer way more group utility, Nightblades have better mobility and are excellent Pillager/Pearls users, and even the excellent in-class cleanse that Templars have can be replaced with Mara's Balm on any other class that wants to be tanky. Templars can still run cleanse to support team members that don't have access to one, but Purge is more effective because its instant, on-demand, and not bound to a ground AOE. Plus, Plaguebreak makes cleanses so much more dangerous to use that most balls don't even run them. Its a shame, really.
Your fps wildly going from 120 to 60 consistently is the most ESO thing I've ever seen....lol Great video. I've talked about this dev stream far too much. I'm just sad at this point.
ESO has been a shit show with extreme over the top monetization for it's entire life. ESO now being worse than garbage does not shock me. Anyone paying for this game is just being milked.
I think that's kinda fair. I don't think the monetization has been too bad for the most part, but its certainly not Warframe levels of consumer friendly, and it frankly has no excuse for it.
Yup I'm using a store bought AOE taunt build on my Templar now. Boy do I love taunting individual enemies with one of the most terrible targeting systems I've ever used in any game :)
If there's 1 thing I wish would get fixed is targeting. There have been times I'll initiate a heavy attack with a lightning staff, within range of an enemy, and nothing happens. My target will be highlighted too.
Someone who spent money should definitely say it out loud. I've stayed away from this for years now. I'm easily scared 😳 and have plenty of games to play. An easy NO -a few bad decisions can ruin the hard work of a lot of talented people (I've been there).
Yup. Sad to say it isn't worth it. I'm just gonna keep an eye on the industry and see if the ex ESO devs go work on something else I might be interested in.
Yes, even Isobel is a better Templar than him, but his skill was primarily shocking. What stroke me much more is that what we saw, was someone who has neither passion, nor care, nor interest in the game. Even a very bad player will try to do what they can to stay alive a bit longer. But he didn't care in the slightest whether he lives or dies. He just wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible, because he hated every second of it.

If you just want to quest or do some easy dungeon runs it's great. Do anything more challenging than that, particularly pvp, and you will see the game's limits very quickly. But it is great if you want to do some mmo questing/story with a fun combat system.
This is a very fair point. You can still get a fair amount of enjoyment from this game at lower levels. Still jank, but there's fun to be had. Hell I braved the horrors of revamped BGs again (because most of the veteran PVP players quit lol) and I really enjoyed myself, despite all the problems. Sad as it is, I'm eternally addicted to this combat system.
Game has the same problems it had when I quit like 5 years ago, and it had those same issues for the 5 years I played it up until then. The game is simply a cash pump for ZOS share holders and nothing more.
Pretty much. It still makes a lot of money so they don't bother trying to address problems as long as they can exploit newer players who don't realize how screwed we are.
With regard to companions - every single one I have activated (all except the purple-haired number) has "they/them" pronouns in their tool tips. It is not only confusing, but downright pointless.
@@BlackBlazeGamingI noticed that too it's so weird as if the descriptions are meant to apply to multiple companions that have access to the same skills but these skills are specifically for that companion and mention them by name but the devs decided to just go with they universally. It's hella awkward to read
They tried to cater to solo players, casuals, and veterans alike and it made everything so imbalanced. They should make ever changing scaling rules based on how frequently players are engaging with various overworld content and based on how many active players are present in the instance. If a piece of content has fewer players engaging with it, the rewards get better but the content gets a little easier so its more accessible to solo players, but gets much harder if there's a lot of people going at it together.
ESO is on its last legs anyway. New-gen games are leagues ahead and devouring its player base. Let the fanboys cling to their 2012 graphics and stiff combat animations-clearly, they’ve never experienced anything better. LMAO.
Its struggling. Still brings in insane amounts of money and is still on the same level as all the other MMOs (except WOW because no one is on that level), but the playerbase is being alienated replaced with newcomers who are disappointed by the offerings of others. There remains no equal in terms of its action combat in the MMO space as far as I've seen, but that could change at any moment.
ZOS is a little cry baby right now because the price increase, battle grounds screw job, weapon and armor monopoly dropped their player count especially after players aren't happy about Microsoft taking their ball aka elder scrolls and walked away with it to xbox. Zos is a cry baby right now because Amazon games are out doing eso because eso's time is coming to an end and im not bothering with elderscrolls 6 because knowing Microsof's micro scams 😂
The most ironic thing is that light attack weaving and animation canceling which are probably the most exciting part of combat wouldn't exist in the first place if it wasn't for zos's incompetence! I have felt this game has been toxic for a while and have been close to canceling my sub a lot lately, this video has sealed the deal ! I literally feel free now I know I'm not paying these idiots 4 dollars a week 😂 thanks for the video!
I have enjoyed ESO for more than 3500 hours since its beta. But now it seems to be run by unexperienced teenagers, and has fallen apart and loosing its integrity. Adding non-binary companion - now, after 10 years - is just a virtue signal that makes no sense in-game. Not that it matters to anyone, but I'm not logging in again.
