I believe that transmission was known to be crap, and not that good either. I never got into the syling of these, but hey, nice car.
Car is great grand touring car like the 928 but I think nicer looking. The F1 is a 20K life on clutch and like Corvette and XLR whole torque tube and rear end have to come out. I don't like clutch life. Also they have sticky button issues. How Ferrari and Maserati cannot do that right and everyone else can is shocking. But I do think the car is nice.

Something I love about Italian made vehicles is they emote passion, whether it is a mechanical symphony, or a physical emotions or driving dynamics. Something the other European car companies have bred out of their vehicles almost to the point they're to clinical for my tastes.

Iirc, in 2021, Tyler spent 80k at the Car Wizards shop. I imagine 2022 is considerably more. That would be quite an IOU for the Car Wizard if he wanted to run the debt that way ;)

Wizard, you realise that Cambiocorsa is the name of the gearbox, and not the model of the car? It translates into English as Race Transmission, i.e., the same as Ferrari's "F1" transmission. But, because Maserati had no involvement in the sport of F1, they gave the transmission a different name when used in the Maserati. Also, the "base" model of the GranSport would be the Coupé.
is this channel gonna turn into a car buying series now? getting old to watch Wizard getting yelled at and warned about wanting to buy a vehicle, then now see his wife buy one instead!?
A "thumbs up" car like this in Wichita goes unnoticed in Fort Lauderdale unfortunately. My next door neighbor has the next generation version of this car.

I get all the looks and thumbs up when out driving my 1985 Nissan King Cab 4x4 and what is even cooler is I rarely ever see any other trucks like it they have become so rare now in certain areas of the country. I will trade you Wizard!

keep in mind with an F1 transmission its best to shift into neutral by pulling both paddles back when your stopped. saves on clutch wear when your at a stop. The dual clutch style is better.
The back almost looks like a 2000’s Honda.

The reason the 4200 ended up with those tail lights was because of US laws on the amount of reflective area in the tail light. The 3200 had way cooler tail lights but were not sold in the USA.
I can see the damage from backing into the pickup truck has been repaired

Love these. Great design giugaro I think. Dash is classy and seats in gransport are ace. And I really like the single clutches. Still mechanical but new age.

Personally I'd go for a GranTurismo for Mrs. Wizard.
I ordered a new 2008 GranTurismo which is the longer version of yours. Car reviews stated a larger painted canvas was needed to really show of the sexiness of the cars. Maserati engines are made in the Ferrari factory. Flat plane crank engines 9000 rpm redline. Who needs a radio. I drove mine as a daily driver business car for 4 years. Just oil changes every year no issue. When I ordered the car I received a personal letter from the President of Maserati’s production line thanking me for the purchase. One of my best cars. I lived in Arizona. Set the cruise on 100 mph all day cross country. Not much plastic all metal or leather. The are coming out with the EV version of the GranTurismo THE FOLGORE 1200 horsepower. Moving art and horsepower. EV’s rapidly surpassing gas car horsepower and its not a million dollar plus car like many high horsepower ICE exotics.
Most American V8’s are low revving burbling cross plane engines. European build high revving small displacement flat plane cranks with less internal initial mass. That is why you see Lambos with 5 liter v10’s or Ferrari 6 liter v12’s. Many Small pistons that rev super fast. More rpm means more horsepower as rpm climb. HORSEPOWER =TORQUE X RPM/5252!
If I buy the wheels, do I get a 3-6 Mafia CD and at least half a bottle of codeine cough syrup to sweeten the deal?

2:45 I've never seen nor ever noticed, there such thing as the face of the rim offset like.
The material is a 'Britex tech cloth'. Also the engine is a dry-sump.
To my eye, it needs a small tail lip spoiler for symmetry - not a wing, just a small vertical aero feature on the tail edge.
The Kansas car-guy UA-camrs are hilarious. It's like organized car-UA-camring.
At this age sadly maserati were often ferraris test bed. By the time of the gransport the f1 box worked really well.

Hope u have a really good tire tech to go to because those rubber bands on those rims r extremely difficult to remove and install without destroying the finish on those rims....if u keep the car long enough that is.....make sure the shop has a "touchless Tire changer" as I have used them and they work awesome....there is no mounting head on the machine....just 2 plastic discs
One of my old neighbor has one for over 15years and it sounds like that one and it's very fast

I do like Maserati. I'm quite lucky (or unlucky) as I'm within a mile of a Maserati dealer, which is next to a Porsche and opposite a Ferrari dealer. In turn a further mile I have a Rolls Royce and McLaren dealer. Oh well keep dreaming as I drive past in my New Ford Focus ST with its Mustang sisters 2.3L Ecoboost 😎

Mr. Wizard this time you are wrong, I owned a 2006 gransport dark blue, everything was adorable about the car except the awfull gearbox. İt is always unsure about what gear to select and very jerky during in town driving, it can not reverse either. Be sure you will sell this car very quickly, you will be so frustrated with the gearbox. But being the wizard you are maybe you can fix the crap gearbox. they say there is a kit which improves the jerky gear box, apparently the kit provides a new software and drive by wire part.

I don't think I would ever buy a Ferrari or Lamborghini. But I would love to have a Maserati. There's just something about them. It's more Gentleman's racer rather than a posers toy.
