When the two girls were reacting to the "almost kiss" as "Oh no no no please!" And then they were happy when the girl got assaulted... I really couldn't believe it! They would actually let a girl get beat up and cheer for it?!
YEEES I THOUGHT THE SAME THING. It show how people doesn't respect others choice. So sad I feel very bad rn to know that there is people like those girls in the world :c
As a lesbian, and as a Korean, this saddens me. The LGBTQ+ community is still a taboo to most Koreans. They are making changes, although it's a slow process. Stay strong guys. Fighting
Minsun Fisher-York i may not be korean but i sure as hell love korean culture due to my brother in law and am apart of the lgbt community so when yall are hurt i am too, fighting
Actually, I'm not living in Korea. I'm living in New York now, but hearing some anti-LGBTQ+ comments from my fellow countrymen (women, other, neither, both, etc.) is kinda disheartening. I know we're getting better, but still.
ugh. as a gay person, this was hard to watch. the guy who said he'd beat some sense into a friend if they came out to him made me so mad. korea needs to get with the program.
Michael Matic Well, one in my Class said one time when our teacher asked 'what would you do if your child was Gay or bisexual or like that' He said he would kill him. And I was sitting 1m away from him so that was so ugh. Yea I'm Bisexual so /:
you say that but if you did some research most eastern countries like japan and china also, didnt have a defined religion, so being "gay" was never a sin and people were even out and were seen as normal, no body cared, but when western countries began getting involved (we can see this clearly when japan finally werent open their doors) religion also got involved and seeing it as a sin and unnatural become the norm
@B FD I agree with that sentiment greatly and wish people were more aware of the unwarranted influence westerners have had on the rest of the world and every country and culture should be embraced as they strike their own path. However, if *not beating the shit out of people* is a western thing, then *damn right* eastern countries should transform into us - in at least one regard
and when the girl answering the “what if you best friend came out bleh” and she said that she would keep distance is something that angers me/seems hilarious because why be friends if youre gonna keep distance when they tell you something so important
Glittering Litter yeah it does,, but i’ve kinda gotten used to it and i learned to not give two fucks about what she thinks about my sexuality. I’ve met better people and i realized she’s not worth it. It still hurts tho... every person i’ve told has been supportive,, except for her and it really was hard for me cuz i expected for her to understand but... it’s not that simple i guess
Well, that is one of the struggles when your are not straight, it really was really hard to tell someone about your confused sexuality. But I am lucky to have friends who fully accepts and open to that kind of things.
K M He wasn't homophobic at all. He wanted them to kiss because he said he would like for LGBT to be represented in the media more. And when asked how he would feel if his MALE friend came out to him, he said he would not feel the need to distance himself and that ultimately if it's who his friend was he would accept it. None of that seems the least bit homophobic. I'm a girl and when two guys are about to kiss, I cheer them on, but that doesn't mean I have a fetish and it most definitely doesn't make me homophobic.
K M So you're going to disregard EVERYTHING I said cause he made a lame joke. I'm a lesbo, and I don't feel the least bit offended. Please refer back to my first comment and consider all the things he said that supports LGBT.
comeback kid Just because someone says they support lgbtq doesn't mean they can't fetishize it. He was objectifying the girls in the video in general, but then he was all eager, tongue hanging out, panting and shit to see them kiss. That's fucking sick. And since when did you become the spokesperson for lesbians? I think it's safe to say most lesbians don't like being fetishized like this.
I dig the lone guy. Like the guy who was watching by himself. Sure he's STRAIGHT as he said very clearly. But he doesnt think violence or intolerance is good. He encourages LGBT rep even if it doesn't directly affect him. And if his friend came out as gay he'd be generally ok with it so long as the friend didn't make advances on him. Honestly, if everyone I met who was straight had that mentality. I'd be more than happy. You don't have to hold up a rainbow flag or dance at a pride gathering or "become gay" to support the LGBT community. You just gotta shrug and be like "Yeah sure. It's chill man." That's all we ask really.
Responses like "they would beat them up," and people wonder why LGBTQAP+ people are scared of coming out or even commit suicide sometimes. IT'S SUCH A MYSTERY.
Leica Why are you acting like that? You're acting like they wake up and everything's then they just go kill them selves. Well that's not how it works, if someone's gettin beat up everyday, getting bullied everyday, and most likely have a shit ton more in their lives. It's obvious they're gonna think they're worthless and that it'd be better if they were dead.
It has been three years. I wonder if their views changed. So much more has happened. Sistar's One More Day, Holland, Anda's Touch, LOONA...make an update video in 2020, please. These people must have read the comments. Okay, now it's been five years, perfect for a part 2.
Unfortunately, these artists are all pretty popular in the states, but not Korea it self, especially Holland, which is why you don’t seem to see them out on shows and t.v. (If so very limited). Christianity has been mended into the Korean culture/society, and with that came with hatred of gay/lesbian alike. Unlike the U.S., Korean society can’t be changed/is not as flexible because they are a homogenous society (97% South Korean Pure 3% other), mean while because we are exposed to many different back grounds, we tend to have a lot of what you would call “people that tolerate other peoples cultures/sex/etc.” Those people that genuinely don’t care would be generations Y and Z (using the u.. generation names). Because of the culture, older Koreans don’t have to tolerate anything. If they don’t like it then they don’t have to care. You don’t see news outlets showing young Korean people standing up for just basic things like their school structure. They study so much they don’t have time to. It’s sad to say, but people will literally have to die for it to come to light, and there has already been some reports of high school students that have.
I feel like the ones in pairs were being more homophobic so maybe its because they didn't want the other person to think they were weird or gay? because the ones by themselves seemed much more open minded
It's kind of a microcosm of what's going on in Korean society at large. Individually, I bet there are a lot of people who are more accepting than the culture overall is, but out of fear of deviating from the group, they modify their public opinion to what they believe others think.
nah i mean the girl that was eating was like ew and shit lmfaoo i cant like literally yeah they have their opinions which arent valid but they have the stupidest reasons to hate gay people
Yes....maybe you already know but it has been well studied in psychology that people who are overtly homophobic have tendencies towards same sex attraction. People put on a huge front to try and hide their true latent desires. If you think about it, putting on a big front is what people do when lying about many different things. Except in this case, they are probably lying to themselves too.
PLEASE DON'T THINK ALL KOREANS ARE LIKE THIS. They are a majority, yes, and our media is still really conservative, yes. But please, not all Koreans are like this. I'm agender asexual and my best friend is gay. Both of us never suffered any kind of verbal ou physical harassment. We ARE moving forward. Believe us, me, Korea can be in 21st century one day
yeah. i understand that you might be homophobic but just straight up acting violently towards another human being is unacceptable to me. you can talk about it right? no need to get violent.
kinda off topic but this is why i admire idols like namjoon and taemin and many others who openly support lgbt because homophobia is so forced upon everyone in south korea and the fact that they could break away from those strong views of discrimination and stereotypes that have been instilled within them from birth and go against the beliefs of their entire homeland says a lot about how strong they are
Mariashi homophobia like this is not only reduced to korea/asia, people tend to forget this. i'm from america (the actual continent) and homosexuality is still heavily frowned upon here. gay, lesbian and transgender kids are killed or kicked out every day in the us. just because koreans are more blatantly homophobic doesn't mean the west is much better. the clear heteronormativity and lack of proper lgbt+ representation in media says it all.
I think that korean culture is uneducated on how lgbt works. they all said that they basically dont understand it. i believe that because of this they resort to attempting to fix what the think is a problem. that's probably why he said that. it makes me sad too. i can only imagine how i would feel if my friends said that, especially since i am gay anyways.
I live in Southeast Asia and a few teachers had spoken up about how lgbt people disgust them. Had one teacher say he wanted to beat up a guy who wore a dress, had a teacher say that if you think you're gay, you can talk to me and I can help fix that for you. Had a teacher say that lgbt people are mentally ill and need treatment, just tons of disgusting stuff. I just think political topics like these shouldn't be brought up in schools as it's inappropriate and off topic
Leah McGregor hahah! Probably because the individual feels more pressured to express homophobia/ shun homosexuality when they are around other people (friends especially) like "nooo that's gay!". Was I the only one to notice that the two guys and two girls were increasingly being assholes as they heard each other's opinion? Lol
i love him. he didn't say anything homophobic like the other dudes and gals, and he even said he would like if some kpop idols would do some lgbtq content
honestly, i always thought only older generations are like this and that younger korean peeps are open minded due to the internet and maany people seeming to be lgbt nowadays, but i guess i was really wrong. my heart goes out to all non-straight koreans who faced this stuff before. stay strong.
@3:09 how tf can she say great job? Want me to smash your head on a stone like that ? Wtf is wrong with those people like damn didn't someone teach you that this is not okay?
Woahhh don't say that. Violence is obviously not the answer. Comments like these give homophobes more reasons to say we're terrible. I'm a Korean lesbian, but I feel no hatred for these people. My country is a very traditionalist society- unlike America and other socially progressive countries, many people their age were raised with the same traditionalist beliefs. These beliefs are deeply rooted in their person. It's sad to see and hard to hear- but these people do not deserve violent threats.
She meant great job as in he stopped the girl that was making his gf cheat on him, just a bit after, the girl reacting realized that he went too far and hit too hard and she was conflicted. Not justifying any of her reactions, just explaining
@@wregell72 yeah she is homophobic but she said "no no no" as in she didn't want the two girls to be together and was happy when the guy intervened but realized he was going too far and didn't like it
@@min4161 what their saying is true though, op wasn't saying they were gonna do it, they were simply trying to make the girl empathize "what if it were you". Op was in no way saying they were gonna use violence they are just saying "good job? what if it were you on that side?"
Jenna Jaelyn i mean we do have to understand that people of other cultures and places were raised differently. I'm from somehwere also as ignorant to these matters, but I've learned to make myself more open-minded and educated as well. You get me?
Francine G. Juan yeah, but they need to learn that it's not something that can be changed, it's not something that is more sexual or mainly different than heterosexuality. If you have a gay friend they won't automatically hit on you. It's the same as if you were a boy with a girl friend or a girl with a boy friend.
I have a friend who doesn't agree with the LGBTQ+ community. But we're still friends and she still hangs out with me etc... her family is all homophobic, she grew up that way and so has her family for generations but she still accepts that I am a person and I am who I am, even if she doesn't accept or understand the community.
Why would they care? They were made by the way they wanted, who are us to make their change? Let they have their culture and be thankful that you live in the ocident with jewish-christian moral where we allow you to live as you want. If you dislike it, go to one arab country or even eastern asian country.
the girl who said she said will keep her distance when she learn her friend came out. I mean...what kind of a friend are you...aaahh just sad...so sad😔
Aw, my heart goes out to every gay person in hiding in Korea. Tell them that being gay is NOT a choice. That guy saying he would beat his friend was _awful_. So many gay people have committed suicide like that Korea needs tumblr
+Mikkloud~AMVs EXACTLY! Koreans are much more conservative about this matter. But people's awareness is changing gradually in Korea too. As I check TV shows and music these days, I can say it's hopeful. Thanks for sharing the good attitude, bro.
korea needs tumblr is the best shit i ve read today 😂😂😂 apart from the jokes, I agree that its awful to see that amount of people not supporting a minority that is just based in who you are. its like, dont like it, dont watch it. that guy saying he would beat his friend ugh. horrible.
+Mikkloud~AMVs Exactly that comment was just disgusting....Most if not all south koreans don't know anything about the lgbt community except for who they are attracted to....they think because a man is gay they will like all gay men so they stray from gay men...but in reality just like straight men gay men have their own taste and will be attracted to a few men not all or most.
Really surprising to see what their reactions were, there was one part were the girl was condoning the violence just because she didn't want to see them kiss!! That's one thing i never understood about people against lgbtq+!! :///
+Austin Peewwaarss Thnx!! That's why we made this! Facing the differences that we might not agree with is a meaningful first step to change. Like 'Kevin' on the movie, we need to talk about LGBT.
Seriously, as a lesbian myself, that was incredibly hard to watch. But it makes me thankful for where I live, the family I have and my wife's family. I think my wife and I are incredibly lucky people.
Chase Acacia You definitely are. I'm 13, alone, and my parents are homophobic as heck. Only 6 people know who I like (I'm a girl), and one of them said "don't worry, it's just a phase, God will bring a loving man into your life because that's the way it's supposed to be". My parents don't know a thing, and they've both openly expressed homophobia, especially my mom.
UPDATE: Loona's tenth member, Chuu, just released a video in which her love interest is a girl. It goes way beyond subtle innuendos; it is as clear and direct as any kpop video featuring a straight relationship. I think this is awesome and important progress. Super awesome.
*preach* when i came out to my friends as bisexual they immediately asked me if i liked them secretly. i was like "dude, wtf? we're friends and it would stay that way. you may be attractive but you're not my type. lol"
lmao I got bullied in middle school when I came out and the girls in my class would be like "don't have a crush on me" and "wtf do you like me or something?" I'd always respond with "no, I have standards." They'd shut up every single time.
My heart shattered after watching this video, my heart goes out to all of the closeted people in korea, it broke my heart when they were saying they would stop being friends with someone for their sexuality. 💔
ive never felt so glad to be in the u.s. fuck. my heart goes out to the the lgbt folks in korea. esp the lgbt youth. Stay strong to all those who feel they are in a community or society that still can't accept them for who they are. Its still bad in the U.S but we have come a long way and are still progressing to fix things. just stay strong.
I agree. it honestly must be awful. I can't believe they actually think it's a choice too? you are born gay and people need to understand that it's not something you can change. it's normal and completely okay.
honestly wish everyone who says "gay is a choice" would CHOOSE to be gay for a year (obviously they wouldn't be able to, but hey prove themselves wrong)
Wait a second here a guy slapped a girl cause and u got made cause thats not right and then yes she did say great job but then u want someone to slap her so practically you want want her to get hit because she thinks different stop violence but then spread it its not right there should be no violence i really hate that she said that i hated watching this it was so sad really depressing that some of those people think that way but they are allowed to think that way its their right we cant stop them but what we can do is spread awareness about no violence and the lgbt+ community stopping violence by being violent isnt right and thats so wrong i dont kniw where to began i hope this made sense im sorry if it didnt but i hope the main point got across.
0:08 coming from a man living in a country where most their favourite idols dress up like girls. P.S.: I am not hating Kpop idols. I just want to show their hypocrisy.
Y’all got the most Homophobic people in Korea to react to this. The guy who was by himself was my favorite bc even if he doesn’t understand it fully he still supports it like me I’m not part of lgbtq but I support it CAuse I have friends who are gay , bi , lesbian , etc.
I have a friend in Korea. He's trans. He tells me all the time about how homophobic people are, and how against the LGBTQ+ community they are. It's the entire country's culture to be strongly against such things. I would say they're right in saying about 75% or even 80% of people in Korea are VERY homophobic.
the guy : "cigarettes are replaced with chupa chups in mv" me : *war flashbacks of Namjoon putting his lollipop in his coffe* anyways, I had a hard time watching this video, especially when the girl cheered for the beating.
I agree with PansLina and Harriet... The bar was set abominably low here... Someone can be slightly less rotten than the rest of the compost, but they can still be compost at the end of the day, you know?
What people need to understand ; it's not because your friend with the same gender as you comes out to you that they like you. It just means they trust you.
Idk but he deserved to get hit for hitting her. If someone hits you regardless of gender, one should defend themselves, appropriately, and in accord to the situation.
+annieidk And yet that seems to be what the West is perpetuating in film and literature. That violence is power. And if a woman has the means to become violent/armed with weapons she can be equal to a man who is physically stronger than her and can overcome (according to most plots) the male aggressor/perpetrator. Such awful rubbish that benefits nobody, this music clip is one example of this.
+annieidk What? If you believe in equality then you are feminist... If a man hit a woman that wasn't feminist then she wouldn't hit back... But he hit her, so equality means she can hit him back, which is what feminism is about.
***** "If a man hit a woman that wasn't feminist then she wouldn't hit back" so I guess so many females from abusive relationships who suffered in silence aren't default feminists by your logic. It's nice to know that the scales of violence are so black-and-white.
And this is one of the many dark sides of Korea, yet they sell their country as if it was amazing full of love and whatnot, I'm sorry but in terms of social aspects they are way behind and not only about lgbtq+ but also discrimination, racism, sexism and more. Although no society is perfect and never will it be, Korea has a lot to change not only because they are interested in being in the eye of the world nowadays with their korean wave but for themselves.
maybesoda This video was created years ago and the situation is honestly better than before. I’m a Korean that attends a girls’ middle school and our class contains 29 students. We were once supposed to have a debate in Literature class as groups. “Should gay marriage be legalized” was a topic so there were supposed to be advocates and objectors. A group volunteered to be an advocate. But no group wanted to be objectors so we ended up with another topic. Of course there is a homophobic person in our class but most aren’t really against it. There’s even a girl dating another girl in our class and she’s pretty open about it. Even so nobody’s ever discriminated her for it. Of course there’s still a lot to improve but we’re progressing. ua-cam.com/video/hEGCgluLd-c/v-deo.html Here’s a lot more positive video.
My favorite person in the video was the girl at the end who reacted to emotions, not solely on the girls who like each other. It's important not to be biased in these things, and she had a clear mind. Props to her and props to the creator of the video, since, well, I enjoyed the reactions (although some were extremely negative)
when the gal wearing a gray beanie clapped during the pulling-of-the-hair scene...damn what's so clappable about that???(dunno if it's a real word but ya'll get me HAHA)
Ugh, I didn’t like the two girls that were viewing this...... they literally cheered when the guy grabbed the girls’ hair and injured her. And they said they felt disturbed at the image of a guy dressing feminine. 🙄 also that guy who said he’d beat up his friend if he ever came out as gay in order to “set his mind straight” like, wtf??? It’s hard to imagine people being so cruel.
I hope that your family, and mom will have the strength to change and support you and love you, because homosexuality is natural, if they can't, fuck them.
+LA. Carmona homosexuality exists across the animal kingdom, in virtually all social species, therefore it's natural by definition. google it, my friend. :)
I was scared to death when I told my best friend and he said: "Great, so we can be the couple of gay friends that you always see in the movies." So we basically came out to one another.... Friendship goals
Honestly I think that's the best response you could've given 😂. Being gay, lesbian, or bi really doesn't change anything and letting that person know that it doesn't really affect anything and that it won't change your relationship is very comforting.
I did sort of the same thing. I said “cool” 😂 I just saw it as her telling me another random fact about her like what her least favorite food is or something. I did ask her questions like if she was currently dating or if she had a crush. Turns out she had a huge crush on one of her coworkers so I spent fall break helping her to talk to the girl and it was super cute. Other than that, nothing changed. We just went on with life as usual
I’m so disgusted by these reactions. I understand that not everyone can have the same views or opinions, but wanting to PHYSICALLY HARM SOMEONE FOR BEING PART OF THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY IS NOT OKAY. My heart breaks for those who have to hide their sexuality from their friends in fear of being harmed. Stay strong 🏳️🌈
Claire Cameron It's not their fault. They were raised in a house where same sex relationships was not accepted, You can really only blame the parents on this.
there koreans....... guy slaps the girl and the korean girl says good job! wtf whats wrong with koreans!!!! i hope they see this and think about next time before they say such things! its fucking 2016, and YES lesbian, gay, trans etc. peope DO exist!! accept it.
btw u can say its an other culture.... i live in a country too where lgbt people are not accapted, in spite pf this fact, we dont say such harsh things.
+NY Nyanya Yeah. I thought that was fucked up too. I wouldn't say Koreans as a general statement, but definitely a reflection on her alone. If I were sitting beside her, I would have definitely paused the video and said a few choice words to her. Not liking LGBT that's a personal opinion no matter how stupid it is. Agreeing with violence in any situation is not cool at all. I sure as hell would not be friends with a girl like that. Ever.
I hope you don't generalize a whole country and ethnicity based on this video of a small select group of Koreans, because that would also make you an ignorant person similar to the people shown in this video. As a Korean, myself, it would be unfair for someone to assume that I'm homophobic based on a UA-cam video. If anything, this video should be taken as a grain of salt. I'm not saying that everyone in Korea is open to homosexuality and I do acknowledge there is a social issue in Korea, but for you to say "Koreans..." is unfair to those Koreans that are more open minded.
It's been 3 years since I've first seen this. Damn it hurts just the same. As a lesbian and a Korean, I have to stay closeted because of fear of my parents. Me and my friends are closeted and it hurts to see this again. But it's eye-opening to see how much of a difference there is here in America.
I know this video came out a while ago, but it made me so physically upset and sick. I can't believe this it the attitude some people still have and to be so blatantly homophobic.
Yes, because beating your friend up until he/she says "I'm not gay" just to make you satisfied is *totally* gonna change his/her sexuality. Disgusting.
천재 well I'm not saying that all need to lol but some percentage. Also I understand that not everyone is comfortable with the idea of two individuals of the same sex loving each other, and even here in America we have people that don't except LGBT community. Also homosexuality inst JUST a western thing; it's everywhere and it has been around even since before Greek times. The one thing I've noticed as a culture (for you guys) is that you aren't as inform about this topic as to say other places. Understand that people that belong in the LGBT community aren't some sort of sexual heathens that would jump at any "same sex individual" or that they are "perverted and will and go after you just because you are the same sex." THAT'S AN EXTREMELY discriminating way to think about them. AN individual that belongs to the LGBT community have standard JUST like any heterosexual would. They are all normal people and just because you have a friend that might be gay, bisexual, or lesbian it doesn't mean that they will try to "make a move on you" lol. Also you have to think of the meaning of what is actual friendship, what if your best-friend is indeed "gay, lesbian or Bi" if he or she took the courage to "come out to you" that means that he or she trusts you enough to tell you such delicate secret. He or she wont change the way he or she thinks of you because they are "attracted to the same sex" loving someone or your "sexual life" has nothing to do with that individuals social life lol (by social life I mean like friends, family, workplace, and that small circle). Sexuality doesn't define us, personalty does. Most of the time what DOES change is the way a heterosexual person thinks of the LGBT individual after that individual shared their news of indeed being gay, lesbian or Bi. Anyway I will leave things as it is if I continue talking I may take forever hahaha
+천재 They don't need to encourage gay marriage or go out of their way to support them, just eventually accept the facts. The facts being that homosexuality is not a choice, it doesn't mean a gay person will automatically be attracted to you and ruin a friendship and that it's just as 'normal' as being straight. :)
+ymg thats hasnt it got nothing to do with being western? Many cultures let women work in "mens jobs" and vote long ago, and other countries eventually caught up (well most). Same with aboloshing slavery etc. Isnt this the same thing? Its going to be accepted eventually but there will always be sticks in the mud sticking to their outdated ways until theyr gone and all thats left is the generations that are much more accepting. Just takes some cultures more than others to adapt depending on their general outlook and what they are taught. Its hard to imagine being so against something that doesn't effect me at all personally. Because a guy is gay and im a guy does not mean he likes me or we have to have sex lol, it does not effect me at all. I am not saying this to offend you, just giving my "western" point of view. everyone is human =)
Trust me tho if your best friend comes out to you, most of the time they have no interest in you romantically what so ever so it shouldn't be so hard for you to support them and love them just the same.
The girl: "I would keep distance", It's funny that straight people think they are so attractive, omg man chill out, it's not like every girl will like you just because she's lesbian, same as you, you don't like every man because you're straight ugh
Only two people had valid opinions about this reaction. The one girl who was by herself and the one guy who was by himself. They didn’t really care as long as it didn’t affect them if their friends came out. Which is nice.
Its really sad to see this mind set but i guess different cultures...but i have seen kpop videos with gay messages. There are two i remember right now but i can only think of one of its names, K.Will Please Don't
+CheerUp2 That song is still popular for unexpected gay message in Korea. Idk what music you were thinking, but 백지영 - 사랑 안 해, Rich - 사랑해 이 말 밖엔, Seeya - Shoes are standing on the same line.
+CheerUp2 If you watch other Korean reaction videos, they are open minded. Even though one guy from the channel BEASTWO says he doens't understand it, he still says he respects people like them. So, I think the newer generation is becoming more and more progressive, but there are still a lot of ignorant people out there. It's nice to see that the girl with the hat said that it meant her friend trusted her completely. And the guy who said "I'm straight!" was more open about it, too.
i'm really surprised and sad about this reaction, especially when a lot of guys in this video laughed at the boy hitting the girl for kissing his girl. I don't remember who but someone said "great job". This isn't right he could have killed her and i'm not talking about lgbt rights but humans rights. Every human being has his right to live and i'm really disappointed in those people just because someone is gay it doesn't mean you have the right to harm him/her. You just approved violence but you can't approve homosexuality what a great human you are. You were shocked about smoking but you weren't for violence,WTH!! YOU GUYS NEED TO CHECK OUT YOURSELVES FIRST AND THEN OTHERS!!
At 2:37 made me laugh so hard her faces were exactly me when I watched this the first time! Also I think the two who were alone were way more open minded and was better about it but the guys who were together and the girls weren't as open minded and it looked like they hated it! Maybe they were just trying to play it off like they didn't like it because there was someone sitting right by them, I don't know! 🤣😂
"I AM STRAIGHT" that guy is simply amazing. No questions asked. He knows who he is and doesn't see it as a problem if his friend is or isn't gay. He's what every straight person SHOULD BE. No matter how they were raised.
Why do they assume that every gay person that comes out to a friend immediately tries to get with them so they need to distance themselves. With that stupid logic you should distance yourself from every person you assume that would be attracted to you aka. straight people.
I think Korea has a loving heart as a country so eventually they will understand they are just a bit late in their exposure to this things. As long as free expression and human interaction is allowed they will understand that gays are the same and the love they feel is just a variation of the heterosexual love but nevertheless equal. Koreans exposure to the global scene will pave the way for a bigger understanding. The first step in understanding people of different orientation is to erase absolute thinking and the need of the world to conform to your belief. We are all in this world to co exist share the world as brothers and sisters and no one gets to say they are privilege just because of sexual orientation
"What do you think about girl's hitting scene?" The korean girl said "feminism" but she could have said "girl power" \o/ (beating a guy is not feminism, but she was defending herself and defending her friend and giving her change)
I'm a little disappointed with some of the reactions and comments for the question about their friend coming out to them, the ignorance in Korea must be pretty strong. The difference in culture still fascinates me though, the Music Video was pretty ... normal when I first saw it, but these guys seemed pretty shocked by it, even by the smoking part. I wonder how the people of my island (Tonga) would react to this. Mneh, knowing Tongans, they'll just make fun of the video for laughs =P
Isn't that mean your value of friendship is just shallow as your mind? When that guy said he'd beat his friend if he had gay friend, and the other one said will reevaluate? What does that suppose to mean? Coming out is a really big thing, if you had a friend who personally come out to you, that means you mean a lot for him/her. And you'd punch ur friend because s/he treasures you much?!
The guy in the grey /blackish jacket was the most supportive of this whole situation and that comes to say not all Koreans are super judgmental on the lgbt 🏳️🌈 community
When the two girls were reacting to the "almost kiss" as "Oh no no no please!" And then they were happy when the girl got assaulted... I really couldn't believe it! They would actually let a girl get beat up and cheer for it?!
Breanna Bunny i think they were only happy that they didnt kiss (still bad tho )
That bitch has a fat face, no lesbian would be interested in her.
YEEES I THOUGHT THE SAME THING. It show how people doesn't respect others choice. So sad I feel very bad rn to know that there is people like those girls in the world :c
Breanna Bunny they come over as dumb uneducated girls that care way more about visuals then personality.
Yeah I got pissed

As a lesbian, and as a Korean, this saddens me. The LGBTQ+ community is still a taboo to most Koreans. They are making changes, although it's a slow process. Stay strong guys. Fighting
Minsun Fisher-York i may not be korean but i sure as hell love korean culture due to my brother in law and am apart of the lgbt community so when yall are hurt i am too, fighting
Minsun Fisher-York you have our support girl!! You're doing great. Stay strong. Best wishes to you and all the gay people in Korea.
Stay strong!!! I'm so proud of you. It must be very hard living there as a LGBTQ+ person.
Actually, I'm not living in Korea. I'm living in New York now, but hearing some anti-LGBTQ+ comments from my fellow countrymen (women, other, neither, both, etc.) is kinda disheartening. I know we're getting better, but still.
I'm living in the good ol' US of A, but I see my country still in a struggle with accepting LGBTQ+ folks.
ugh. as a gay person, this was hard to watch. the guy who said he'd beat some sense into a friend if they came out to him made me so mad. korea needs to get with the program.
Michael Matic yasss
Michael Matic yeah it made my gay heart very sad how little they know about lgbt and how judgmental they are
Michael Matic Well, one in my Class said one time when our teacher asked 'what would you do if your child was Gay or bisexual or like that' He said he would kill him.
0h Its liz that’s happening to me with a friend i thought i could fully trust :/ she said it’s “weird” and she ignored me
Glittering Litter yeah it does,, but i’ve kinda gotten used to it and i learned to not give two fucks about what she thinks about my sexuality.
But I am lucky to have friends who fully accepts and open to that kind of things.
doodalia same thing happening in my life tooo
Yeah like why be friends if you don't care about them enough to support who they really are?
That guy who said he'd beat his friend... that's really horrible. All but that one guy and that one girl where homophobic...
Anna Grabka might have because they were alone...
DOYUFEELITMISTERKRABS No. No one has to settle for disgusting behavior like that. That wasn't a joke. It wasn't funny in the slightest.
Noa Lenora Art Honestly same. He reminds me of Mark Tuan from Got7.
Same! He was pretty nice about it same with the lone girl! They both were pretty nice about it!
I agree!
The same one that said: "Turn around!" when the girl was shirtless?
@@sufias6426 that wasn't homophobic though, that's just typical stupid boy behavior
I can't believe the girl in the right said "Good Job" on a guy mistreating a girl 3:08.... like seriously. #badjob
I think it might've been because the guy stopped them from kissing
actually i don't think it's that. because after that she asked if the girl died and seemed concerned..
I would be pissed too lmao. If my boyfriend cheated on me (with anyone) damn better run
I think she was being sarcastic
i think that was actually a misunderstanding- i think she meant good job for stopping the kiss not for the assault
the girls made me so mad like wtf
that one dude was totally fetishizing lesbians yuck

Responses like "they would beat them up," and people wonder why LGBTQAP+ people are scared of coming out or even commit suicide sometimes. IT'S SUCH A MYSTERY.
Trailtracker Yep, it does.
Vincisomething A G R E E
BlurBerry Creative tenny's 159cm ayy
gahyeon's bar oh yes
BlurBerry Creative
Wait what about LOONA?
수형김 Oh you already know😉
I feel like the ones in pairs were being more homophobic so maybe its because they didn't want the other person to think they were weird or gay? because the ones by themselves seemed much more open minded
SunKissedTaeTae true
Except in this case, they are probably lying to themselves too.
no there is no excuse for being homophobic
PLEASE DON'T THINK ALL KOREANS ARE LIKE THIS.
They are a majority, yes, and our media is still really conservative, yes. But please, not all Koreans are like this. I'm agender asexual and my best friend is gay. Both of us never suffered any kind of verbal ou physical harassment. We ARE moving forward. Believe us, me, Korea can be in 21st century one day
Yes thank you! I'm lesbian and Korean- I know Korean people are not all like this! We are getting better
It's sad that these are the people chosen to represent our people. They're disgusting.

kinda off topic but this is why i admire idols like namjoon and taemin and many others who openly support lgbt because homophobia is so forced upon everyone in south korea and the fact that they could break away from those strong views of discrimination and stereotypes that have been instilled within them from birth and go against the beliefs of their entire homeland says a lot about how strong they are
Mariashi homophobia like this is not only reduced to korea/asia, people tend to forget this. i'm from america (the actual continent) and homosexuality is still heavily frowned upon here. gay, lesbian and transgender kids are killed or kicked out every day in the us. just because koreans are more blatantly homophobic doesn't mean the west is much better. the clear heteronormativity and lack of proper lgbt+ representation in media says it all.
Mariashi of course there are places like that but thinking that the west is much more accepting of the community than korea or japan is ridiculous

Charlotte Bella This video came out years ago, nowadays Koreans aren’t this much homophobic. Although the older generation are.
I was totally prepared for them to be a bit apprehensive and all but... that guy sayimg he will beat up his friend?
I... this made me so sad...

Maso-Kun no she didn’t it’s clear before she said that she was like no no no
@@wregell72 yeah she is homophobic but she said "no no no" as in she didn't want the two girls to be together and was happy when the guy intervened but realized he was going too far and didn't like it
@@min4161 what their saying is true though, op wasn't saying they were gonna do it, they were simply trying to make the girl empathize "what if it were you". Op was in no way saying they were gonna use violence they are just saying "good job? what if it were you on that side?"
this was actually difficult to watch, so sad that some people and cultures are so uneducated about these things

+Mikkloud~AMVs Exactly that comment was just disgusting....Most if not all south koreans don't know anything about the lgbt community except for who they are attracted to....they think because a man is gay they will like all gay men so they stray from gay men...but in reality just like straight men gay men have their own taste and will be attracted to a few men not all or most.
wait.. tumblr is banned in korea?????

I mean I know the world won't share the same views as me, but that was frankly hard to watch them say those things.

I have a friend in Korea. He's trans. He tells me all the time about how homophobic people are, and how against the LGBTQ+ community they are. It's the entire country's culture to be strongly against such things. I would say they're right in saying about 75% or even 80% of people in Korea are VERY homophobic.

How is hitting a guy feminism? So what do they do when a guy harasses them if they're not feminist?
***** I know??? But these women said that she's a feminist when she hit the guy. You don't need to be a feminist to react to harrasing.
Lol. I guess I won’t visit so Korea anytime soon. Their culture can’t handle mine lol
when the gal wearing a gray beanie clapped during the pulling-of-the-hair scene...damn what's so clappable about that???(dunno if it's a real word but ya'll get me HAHA)
It’s hard to imagine people being so cruel.
this is why i'm scared to come out to my korean mother
+Mickey Hyde IDK what to say but.. you've got one more who supports you. Completely.
I hope that your family, and mom will have the strength to change and support you and love you, because homosexuality is natural, if they can't, fuck them.
+animevgamelover its not natural yet but its now common
LA. Carmona homosexuality is natural!
+LA. Carmona homosexuality exists across the animal kingdom, in virtually all social species, therefore it's natural by definition. google it, my friend. :)
"TURN AROUND TURN AROUND!!@
"ahh disappointing."
THIS GUY XD
My best friend came out to me recently and my response was
"..so?"
CONGRATULATIONS. YOURE AN AMAZING PERSON
bless your soul
I did sort of the same thing. I said “cool” 😂
I just saw it as her telling me another random fact about her like what her least favorite food is or something.
Claire Cameron
It's not their fault.
Ever.
Actually I think she says good job for breaking up a potential kiss scene. (She looked like she didn't want to see that). Don't jump to conclusions @@
Israel is way worse and more hateful to lgbt people. VERY slowly south Korea is getting more lgbt friendly
No one understood that the guy didn't love the girl, he was abusive and only lusted for her.
Wow. They really need to be educated further on the LGBT community- because this was painful to watch and it makes me worry for our future.
I know this video came out a while ago, but it made me so physically upset and sick. I can't believe this it the attitude some people still have and to be so blatantly homophobic.
i saw this and though 'oh my god i have to tell genie someone stole our names'...
Yes, because beating your friend up until he/she says "I'm not gay" just to make you satisfied is *totally* gonna change his/her sexuality. Disgusting.
SOME koreans need to be educated about homosexuality :/
+Ushionai No.
***** how so. we are not western
Trust me tho if your best friend comes out to you, most of the time they have no interest in you romantically what so ever so it shouldn't be so hard for you to support them and love them just the same.
that guy by himself is so beautiful.
The girl: "I would keep distance", It's funny that straight people think they are so attractive, omg man chill out, it's not like every girl will like you just because she's lesbian, same as you, you don't like every man because you're straight ugh
are you homophobic, no im not (you are)
+Scully Loveless ARE U HAVE SEXUAL PROBLEM TARD ?
+Douchepool Was that supposed to be English?
should i really know enlgish perfectly ? fkin absr
Only two people had valid opinions about this reaction. The one girl who was by herself and the one guy who was by himself. They didn’t really care as long as it didn’t affect them if their friends came out. Which is nice.
i feel so sorry for the lgbt of south korea. their people are so close-minded. smh it's 2015.
2018 now. hopefully the people in this video and the majority of s. korea learned something.
Trisha Rivera it's now 2018
The one that didn't say a word just facial expressions I feel she herself is LGBT but bc it's not accepted in Korea she has to hide it within herself
M.S.G. I cant remember the name but its from a girl group and there is a part were guys are making out, it was a funny joking video but...
I think that video is 'mamamoo - um oh ah yeh'(마마무 음오아예)
장소영 Nahh its not mamamoo, god i wish i could think of it im sorry XD
+CheerUp2 If you watch other Korean reaction videos, they are open minded. Even though one guy from the channel BEASTWO says he doens't understand it, he still says he respects people like them. So, I think the newer generation is becoming more and more progressive, but there are still a lot of ignorant people out there. It's nice to see that the girl with the hat said that it meant her friend trusted her completely. And the guy who said "I'm straight!" was more open about it, too.
5 years since this was uploaded. it really hurt watching this ngl.
i'm really surprised and sad about this reaction, especially when a lot of guys in this video laughed at the boy hitting the girl for kissing his girl.
:/ ... still thank u tho for uploading
as a lesbian I hate this. Hurts my heart
same here
I thought for a moment that the girl who's alone is mute and she made my day with her expressions 😂😂😂
As a girl who likes girls this made me so mad. When that one girl said good job made me uncomfortable and angry. Like wow
Thanks for the loving and considerate comment
Damn, so lighthearted and optimistic, I'm jealous.
now we know why kdrama has no lgbtqia+ characters. skorea *needs to step up*
"What do you think about girl's hitting scene?"
The korean girl said "feminism" but she could have said "girl power" \o/
(beating a guy is not feminism, but she was defending herself and defending her friend and giving her change)
this is why education on LGBT is important.
Mneh, knowing Tongans, they'll just make fun of the video for laughs =P
...korea has a long way
Isn't that mean your value of friendship is just shallow as your mind? When that guy said he'd beat his friend if he had gay friend, and the other one said will reevaluate? What does that suppose to mean? Coming out is a really big thing, if you had a friend who personally come out to you, that means you mean a lot for him/her. And you'd punch ur friend because s/he treasures you much?!
The guy in the grey /blackish jacket was the most supportive of this whole situation and that comes to say not all Koreans are super judgmental on the lgbt 🏳️🌈 community
"Girls are not objects of yours to say that they belong to you and then complain that you" lost "her
Girl gets hit on her head in the mv
That girl : "Great Job"
Me : Are u f*cking kidding me ?!?!!! 😒😒
