Playboy literally has the best safehouse. It looks the nicest, is in a central location, and lots of cool cars spawn in Northwood. If you land a helicopter on the building, I think you can even play pool with a friend inside!
You surely can, and you don't even need a helicopter for that. You can take friends or girlfriends to the top floor by riding the very elevator Niko uses to get there himself, by walking into the marker as you'd do any other time. It's never clearly explained anywhere, though, so not many people are aware of the possibility. I don't think the safehouse is even marked on the map as a pool activity when hanging out with friends - I'm pretty sure it isn't.

His safe house is really, really cool but for me, the best safehouse is the penthouse in East Middle Park - it has a laptop (unlike Playboy’s penthouse) and is really charming. I can’t explain but I just really, really love it.

I miss IV's online, and how much soul was put into this, that I feel lacks in V.
I think IV's multiplayer blows *modern* GTAO out of the water simply because it actually felt like a GTA game. As in, you're not a government agent working at some Black Mesa knockoff, multi-jobbing as a club owner and flying a fucking DeLorean in your free time. You're an ordinary criminal first and foremost, doing small dirty jobs for equally shitty people, in gamemodes like Kenny Petrovic's Hangman's NOOSE or Team Car Jack City. Boosting cars, shooting dudes, transporting dope. Sounds simple but it never felt boring - quite the opposite. Everything was down to earth and perfectly embodied the name of the game, grand theft auto. Not grand theft identity crisis: orbital cannon edition. One could argue that the early version of GTAO on 360/PS3 was more of what IV had to offer, and I'd agree with that, but whatever it has been since the PS4 version launched is more Saints Row than the new Saints Row imo.
I feel you bro, as I have a lot of fond memories of everyone agreeing to do the airport race with mopeds, or melee brawls in the prison, or rocket launcher matches on liberty island.

A lot of streets in the game are weird, too, like they've been changed at the last minute. In the center, the navigator can show you the way through a one-way street, but in the opposite way, for example. There are also weird traffic lights and road signs that don't make sense or are just not needed
Typical Rockstar, they always forget to change stuff so it makes more sense.
GTA IV still has a sign saying Goatherd, even though Goatherd doesn't exist or changed to Firefly Projects. Rockstar is really known for oversights.

I miss the feeling I got from playing GTA IV for the first time
it felt like a huge improvement on San Andreas, it didn't have that much content but the Gameplay was so great(the Gunplay, Driving and Physics) that just going on rampages and doing car crashes on its own was content, it was crazy how much they improved the game after just 3 years.

I feel you. And now Badger said "14th anniversary". Fourteen years have passed! Back in 2007, less years have passed between Half-Life and GTA IV than between GTA IV and now.
first time I played, I turned it off because the driving was horrible. tried again the next day with more patience. gta4 is good but you'll never convince me the driving was superior.
@@powerstationw I personally loved it, I think driving like a maniac should be hard to do the way it is but on the other hand the cars could take a lot of damage unlike previous GTA Games and car crashes for me were part of the fun.

@@alvzcizzler wdym the multiplayer is already removed on the latest pc patches. Or you mean console ? But I don't see the point since it doesn't use rockstar's server to play with ppl
@@CatAywa Exactly, no point of removing if it's just peer to peer, no actual servers involved, that's how it is still on the consoles and it's a fun simple non-grindy multiplayer experience

Perhaps another option for Ideology Circle could be the circular path at Civilization Plaza? In the final release, it's not marked as a road and is more of a porte-cochère sans covered roof, but if there were ever plans to let that area be somewhat expanded for a mission at Civilization Plaza or even just different ideas for how the area might be accessed during free roam, then it's possible they had a name for the circle for taxi deliveries and on the police scanner.
As risky as this could be due to Take Two, I still hope a pre-release build of GTA IV gets found one day. Would love to see what the game like during those stages of development more in-depth. Still salty about what happened to those GTA V builds that got taken away.
I just finished hours upon hours of college work including like 3 tests and it took me until around now (2:20 AM) to finish it all up, and boy was I happy that this was the first thing I saw once I turned on UA-cam. I really needed something to relax with and you delivered!
I'm also really happy to see another video about GTA IV. Its really nice to take a step back from the stressful and frustrating issues with the newest (re)releases from Rockstar and watch a video about one of my favorite video games of all time and learn some new things about it!

This is genuinely my favorite kind of content. Seriously, I love hearing Badger go over cut content like the cellphone store or the unused ferry docks or this. It's so interesting to go digging around in a game's files to see what mysteries lay in the code like some new age digital archeologists. I would love to see you look through cut content in other Rockstar games too! like maybe Bully or Rockstar Ping Pong lmao

I'm kind of happy some of those got shafted... a few of those names were a little on the nose, even for GTA. I like Algonquin's mineral-themed street names the best.

Alderney was potentially originally going to be called Guernsey, (Guernsey, Jersey, and Alderney are three of the Channel Islands) evidenced by two lines in the game saying the Pegorinos were based in Guernsey, probably recorded before the change

oh yeah i remember openIV i think, it allowed you to change the skin of vehicles in gta 4. i wish we could still use trainers in single player but they updated the script key or whatever its called that runs it, you have the trainer and the script file and you have to drop it in the gta 4 folder and bam you had a script mod menu to change vehicles different colors or spawn them or spawn fingerless gloves or spawn bodyguards. i once did a playthrough of gta 4 where i had 2 bodyguards and it was pretty fun i had roman and bernie as my bodyguards with AK47s.

The only GTA I've ever played was GTA advance on the Game Boy Advance SP when I was way too young.
I am not a GTA fan per se (also not a hater), but somehow - I guess it must have been the bodged trilogy release - I found this channel and Dark Space and I really enjoy the content.

The unused names of the streets are probably were tests and left in the files. Or there were those streets in the some of the final ones. Especially "Eyediditmy Way" is a reference to Frank Sinatra's "My Way" jazz song, one of my favourite songs of him.

@@DaRealBruner to use it as a reference and also to test the audio. It's easy to write anything but if you wanna know how it'll actually sound like then you need to record it. It's like when actors do multiple takes.
