There are currently recovery workers staying at this hotel and they are trying to re open it. It's a gorgeous hotel so I'm pleased that they aren't going to tear it down.
Hi! What a trip down memory lane! I’m a retired flight attendant. I met and dated the sales manager of this property when it was Wyndham in ‘99. I have some stories from that property 😜
I stayed at this resort 10 years ago. Unbelievable. When I saw the picture, I immediately recognized the resort. The pool areas were so beautiful, and the caves and bridges by the beach were outstanding. I hope it can be renovated successfully.
I was there for a wedding in 2012! I recognized it from that sketchy bridge! So amazing seeing it like this but when i was there it was looking run down. Keep it up Bankz, I'm loving this
What a beautiful resort. I hope it is refurbished for people to enjoy again. It was nice seeing you explore with your wife. You need to take her on more adventures. Thank you both.
Beautiful resort. The lobby was really nice. Ocean views are just stunning. I'm glad to hear that the resort is being fixed up. Good news. I'd hate to see it rot. An excellent explore.
What absolutely gorgeous views from the resort. It is sad to see it in such a state. Glad to hear that it is going to be restored. Thank you both. Hope you had a wonderful time.😍
As I sit here in Ohio, 19 degrees and snow on the ground, I'm thinking Thank You!!! Such an amazing place! Somewhere, it's warm and the sun is shining lol! And thank you for sharing part of your vacation with us 😊
I stayed there around 20 years ago. The reason you see rooms that look like condos or apartments is because it was a timeshare (with an all inclusive food option). Some rooms were hotel units. Some were 2 or 3 bedroom units with kitchens. It did have an excellent view, but the food was substandard. The beach was barely getting used while I was there.
I worked here as the reservations manager in 2013, I really hope they fix it too. Kinda crazy to see a place I actually lived at for several months on your show. Edit: I’d like to add … love the show, it’s such a nice break from the stuff going on in the world. ☺️
We stayed at the resort in 2014. It was gorgeous and an amazing vacation! I had no idea it was abandoned. Thankful they are restoring it for others to enjoy.
I worked at Sugarbay for 2 years. I worked there during the Hurricane Maria and Irma. The resort never reopened after that. It did house some emergency responders a few months after and possibly until 2020. This was one of the prettiest resorts on St Thomas and over 200 employees lost their jobs because the owners chose not to rebuild.
WOW is right. Time to bring it back. It needs a lot of work. as beautiful as it is. Watch out when a storm comes. Nice lobby. Thank You for sharing. Stay safe.
Awesome video, Thank You So much , and Thank You to Your Beautiful Wife for joining You on this Adventure, Enjoy the rest of your trip 😊🙏 Maybe you can return when it has been All renovated 😊
Stayed there when I was 16 in 2011. Was my first and still only Caribbean resort so it hurts to see it like this. Played piano for the dinner crowd up in the lobby area where the restaurant overlooked the ocean. So sad.
Lakota, love, your little face is cooked! Great show, Mr. Big! Nice visit to the islands. Hope they can recover this place. Love all those pools and the beach!
I stayed here back in like 2008 and had a BLAST. Sad to see and hear that this place closed down, but hopefully they are able to clean it up and re-open it!
You guys! This was so fun. I just smiled through the whole thing. Those views were spectacular. This resort must have been exceptional before the hurricane. So brave of you to go exploring in another country on your vacation. Thank you for sharing this one. Stay safe, stay blessed.
What a great adventure to do while having a nice cruise too! Loved this explore def one of a kind place. Perfect prime real estate as well! Thanks for sharing! Watching from sunny Florida!
That use to be such a beautiful resort, stayed there several times , they also had a nice casino inside. also stayed at Marriott’s Frenchman’s reef on the other side of the Island. That hotel got hit hard from the back to back hurricanes…thank goodness I had trip insurance on that. Glad they renovated it such a beautiful and my favorite little piece of paradise.
Hey Big Bankz 🐚🐠 This is amazing, my favorite one yet. What a beautiful paradise. Good to hear it's being renovated! Your videos keep getting better and very professional.! Thanks for sharing your adventures! You and your wife be safe 🐚 Happy travels 🧳🌻
Just a wonderful video! I so enjoy watching y’all, and living vicariously through the lens of your camera! You’ve got the BEST job ever! My favorite videos though are the ones where y’all visit abandoned homes...especially the old mansions. I live in the Deep South, Alabama to be specific. I’d love to see y’all explore some of the abandoned plantations and old antebellum mansions that remain down here. Thanks so much for your amazing channel.
I have been on a cruise on the Caribbean and loved the weather of 80 degrees compared to our 25 degrees in Illinois at the time this was in 1995, January 13-15.
What a beautiful place and location. I really hope someone will buy it to fix it all up. It seems like such a waste to take it down. Great explore! Enjoy your time there.
Excellent Vlog! The views of the Bay were just breathtaking. I’m glad they’re going to refurbish it and get it back up and running again. Only one note to add. I’m really worried about your Health Carter. Your breathing is so heavy. Just another mother and grandmother worrying about your health. 🤟🏻💜😎🍀🇺🇸🇺🇦🕊
To the person reading this, you’re absolutely amazing and wonderful! God is SO great! God is SO real!! God bless you!!! God bless everyone!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
💜🐷💜 I love the Caribbean. Been there a few times. Nowhere better. Last time we were in Nassau my boyfriend bought a timeshare thru Wyndham. The people down there are also amazing.
I’ve stayed at the resort you walked through to get to sugar beach multiple times and always wondered what that swanky place on the hill looked like from the inside 😝 that itty bitty sugar beach… it is the best beach in the world. 😁
Not as much damage as I was thinking. The scenery is 💯! Definitely people have come and gone. Some have probably stayed longer than other's but who could blame them. Thank you for the inside.
I am glad that his abandoned location has a possible good ending in sight! ^_^ I wonder if that one room was one of the staff that worked there and they rented a room like an apartment? It looks beautiful there! Side note: Vans survive almost everything. Mine got soaked and took DAYS to dry, but they still held up. haha
IT REALLY DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT WOULD TAKE THAT MUCH TO GET IT BACK IN WORKING ORDER, UPGRADE THE ROOMS, LOOKS LIKE THE EXTERIOR PAINT HELD UP WELL, NOT REALLY MUCH DAMAGE AT ALL, WILL BE BEAUTIFUL UPON COMPLETION. GO BACK LATER WHEN IT'S DONE AND STAY THERE!
I would think they had to leave quickly bc of the hurricane 🌀 and never came back for anytthing!! By the way I just love you both, ur the cutest couple. You remind me alot of my grandson. 👍
My husband and I honeymooned here in 1999. I read that it had closed because of the hurricane. It was a beautiful resort and I hope it can reopen again.
It was recently announced in the virgin islands media that this particular property was sold. Not sure what the new owners have in mind for the property.
We stayed at the resort next door back in the fall of 2020 and we toured it while there. They had a wedding dress hanging up on the second floor of the main lobby. Makes you wonder who’s dress that was and if their wedding was cancelled/postponed; very sad…
That lobby looked like it was newly painted. Maybe they are fixing it up to open. To good a destination not to open it up again. Thanks for the tour. lean on God

I hope they succees, looks wonderful place
Are they still trying to reopen it? It doesn’t look like there’s many signs of life other than that room
Hi! What a trip down memory lane! I’m a retired flight attendant. I met and dated the sales manager of this property when it was Wyndham in ‘99. I have some stories from that property 😜

Rewatching this episode because I love my island home, once a Virgin Islander- always a Virgin Islander.
This was so beautiful glad they are fixing it up. There is another abandoned resort to the left of point pleasant would love to see an explore of
Stayed there when I was 16 in 2011. Was my first and still only Caribbean resort so it hurts to see it like this. Played piano for the dinner crowd up in the lobby area where the restaurant overlooked the ocean. So sad.

We stayed at the resort next door back in the fall of 2020 and we toured it while there. They had a wedding dress hanging up on the second floor of the main lobby. Makes you wonder who’s dress that was and if their wedding was cancelled/postponed; very sad…
Extraordinary view 😮
Great find!!! Enjoy your vacay time now 🏝
