  • First posted video - please be kind. Just running through my thoughts on the Bambu Lab Carbon and its seeming inability to use cardboard filament spools. Looking at solutions/ testing / etc. Leave feedback below!

Just put a layer of electrical tape around the edge, and fold the excess over the edges. Works fine for me and doesn't add any thickness to the spools

All you have to do is print the spool adapters that go over the cardboard spools, a few people designed them for this issue, they make a very thin one that is different than the one you printed

I'll definitely have to try that, the Overture spools are so wide haha, super thin adapters eh? Thanks for the heads up!

carboard is to slick you can print rings to put around the carboard ones no respooling

My AMS worked fine with cardboard, but there WAS a little paper dust from them. I printed the most minimal rings that usually fit well, but I gluestick them on anyway. BEWARE... Many of the rings make the roll too TALL and will rub and scratch the inside of the AMS lid. So I rest the lid on top of its little locking tabs.

Yeah I noticed the dust, too. My cardboard rolls seemed to be doing OK, until there was less filament on the roll. Thanks for the heads up about the scratching, I'll be sure to be on the lookout for that.
