Anyone around my age (34) that can remember this era of pop music/Britney knows how highly anticipated this album was. I don't think I could sleep until my parents took me to the store to get her CD on release day. I totally forgot about this performance but felt instant nostalgia for that era watching this again. Britney was so massive back then. I don't think we'll ever see a talent of her calibre at that age ever again.
34 here as well and I remember recording this mtv special and all the Oops I did it again record release specials on a vhs tape. Still have it but it’s sooo blurry. Good thing I can look it up on yt. 😌
Britney was a product of her era. If you really want to be technical about it Taylor Swift achieved the same level level of fanaticism over a prolonged and sustained career. "You Belong With Me" came out when Taylor was 19, the same age Britney had this hit.
So Heart-wrenching to know that she gave the world so much of her and people did nothing , but leeched off her innocence and stripped her human rights . what the conservatorship is doing to britney is beyond voilation of human rights and extremity of dehumanization . it is completely heartbreaking to see how much she is and was hearting and how her life isn't her own . No one deserves that . sending prayers and love to Our Queen !!! #freebritney
This is real art and creation….. her choreography, her signing in such a small space, and having that connection to her fans.. this isn’t seen at all these days…crazy how time passes and evolves 😎
She was so much contracted while singing... it’s not her natural tone... I don’t know if this demaged her voice or not, but in others performances the strong deep voice suddenly came up while dancing (i think this is the reason why her team decided to use more playback)
Love they used the OG dance break as from the video (with the Radio Mix). However, my favorite though when they added the extended dance break. So gritty, funky, badass, and nasty. Choreographed by the late and great Andre Fuentes (one of the dancers in this performance). Gotta love that trust fall in the end. Britney was at the top of her game. That was added when Britney hosted and performed on SNL which would later be done on the OOPS Tour (plus she also did it on The Today Show, The View, and MTV's Britney Live). Breaks my heart what she's doing through and we will continue to fight for her.
No brainer that it’s such a beautifully choreographed song; Ms. Tina Landon choreographed it. Andre Fuentes was the one who choreographed the breakdance (only performed in Saturday night live performance, the view performance, TRL and today show and some of Britney Spears concerts). Rest in peace Andre (in the video, he’s the curly blonde man wearing a flesh colored tank top on the right side of Britney)

For sure! I had these HUGE posters of her in my room like wallpaper. I still try and dress and do my makeup like hers back then to this day lol
Amen. I’ll never forget when she sold over a million copies of Oops in a week. She was huge.

This was the very first time Britney sang and danced Oops before the second album release.
She performed at on tour prior to this performance tho
She performed it on tour for the first time on March 8, 2000 (Crazy 2K Tour). This performance aired in April 2000.

Nobody can perform like Britney used to perform! She is great!!
At that time she was still singing live
She was so much contracted while singing... it’s not her natural tone... I don’t know if this demaged her voice or not, but in others performances the strong deep voice suddenly came up while dancing (i think this is the reason why her team decided to use more playback)

The audience is so loud lol
I was there with a large high school group visiting from NC. We took up most of the audience & yes we were loud & so excited.
