She always had that stage presence that teen pops never had. I think I saw it with MJ. She is the female MJ. Only MJ and Britney had that it factor at such a young age.
One of her best performances IMHO not only because she is singing live and not lip syncing but also because she is (mostly) doing the choreography too. Later it would be one or the other; either lip sync and dance or sing live but stand still rocking back and forth like a bobble doll on a car's dashboard.
In my opinion this was one of her best live performances at the beginning of her career. This makes me miss the old Britney Spears so much. I miss it when she used to sing her songs 100% live vocals. Every time I watch any of her old live vocals performances her voice literally gives me goosebumps. She's always had a very unique and different and beautiful singing voice.
This is one of her best performances of both songs, there's great balance between the singing and the dancing. And OMG ! She did that run 07:20 - 07:25 never heard her do it live, I think this is the only performance where she did it 😍 07:26 - 07:29 I'm so obsessed with that extra run 😲
What a diverse show to be a part of and what an awesome performance! I wish they had continued to develop her natural voice and the balance between dancing and live vocals. Even when her vocals are imperfect, it's refreshing to hear her voice.
I remember watching this live back on UPN (I think). I just love her so much and I'm so thankful that I got to experience every aspect of her career back then. I still have all these old performances on VHS LOL
Her old stage outfits with the pants and short top showing midriff were much more iconic than her vegas stage outfits which look like drag queen carnival look.
Judging from her outfit I think she was still touring with nsync here. This would be January 1999. She dyed ber hair blonde in April 1999. And this was before she hurt her knee during the filming of her music video sometimes. Which she hurt herself in February. So this would def be January and still touring with nsync.
Omg the little "uhnh" at the end of the run was so unexpected and cute! 2:31 loved hearing her improv when her team allowed her to sing live instead of forcing playback baby voice on the girl. They even went as far as rerecording her songs while she halfway did the choreo to make it sound live when she performed in concert. The Oops I Did It Again Tour did it very well. I actually love it when they do this versus just pressing play on the radio version of the song without any changes to the vocal trax. Just like in Vegas. She was 35 years old lip syncing to vocals she recorded at 15/16. I much preferred the re-recorded vocals if there is going to be playback. This was all live though baby. ❤❤❤
