There are a lot of UA-cam travelers documenting their adventures, but you Sarah Jane are the most proffessional, polished and engaging UA-camr out there. ❤❤
Really a great fun visit to the Shoshone Museum. If you enjoyed Sarah Jane’s tour consider stopping and joining the museum association. The gift shop and museum are free to visit. Donations are greatly appreciated to keep the facility open and running. Joining is a great way to make a contribution to sustain the efforts there. It is a Mojave Desert treasure. Thank you Sarah Jane for sharing the wonder there.
As a child growing up in Northridge CA in the early 1960's....I don't know where it came from but, we had a Desert Tortise in our backyard with our family name painted on it in nail polish....Things people did way back then. They were quite common amongst the childrenn of the neighborhood. No wonder they went onto the extiction list in the 1980's.
As far as I know the desert tortoise is not extinct. They sometimes shut down operations on the Twenty Nine Palms Marine base to defer to the needs of this little critter. Also there are officially certified keepers of desert tortoises to keep critters safe that had to be removed for more "important" matters in the ventures of humans.
I’m always impressed by how well you’ve read up on stuff about many things. Further, you’re so cute dressed up for the adventure. Sending “ginormous” good vibes your way in appreciation.
Hi Sarah Jane. Those fossils are a big deal to palaeontologists (archaeologists do the human stuff), paleontologists do fossils. As for the fossilisation of the bones, what happens in most fossils is that the original bone material is replaced (in part, at least) by minerals which water carries in to replace the bone which makes many fossils pretty heavy. This is particularly interesting because the mineraIisation process did not occur in Tecopa because of the the dry environment. The Lake Tecopa fossils are rare and may contain information which is lost in the more usual fossilisation process. Best wishes to John the custodian of some scientifically very interesting material.
I love your "Story Telling" what a great story. You are missing your true career, you should be a teacher! Yes, a teacher! Your tales would have your students sitting on the edge of their chairs. Certainly works for my wife and I and we're in our 60's. Thank you!
Amazing how knowledgeable you are about Geology and Archeology. Also how well you can carry on a conversation with yourself, asking and correctly answering questions about any variety of subjects! But then you are the one and only Wonder Hussy!
small town museums sometimes seem like they were only built for elementary School field trips, with some rudimentary geology and archaeology and a few old local items. But the exceptional ones make it all worthwhile. I used to have going to museums as a hobby, perhaps I will take it up again.
It touches my heart to see shoeshine cause I grew up in ash meadows got my mail at death valley junction and rode motorcycles all around where you live. You rock
We visited the Shoshone Museum at the end of February on the Death Valley leg of our trip. John was very nice and the museum is full of interesting stuff. Fun to see it again.
Seeing that Coyote and then the Blasting machine def reminded me of Wile E. Coyote trying to catch that blasted Road Runner Meep, meep my azz, ha, in the 70’s patches were all the rage and there was a patch that showed Wile finally catching the Road Runner and strangling the life out of him, we would put the patches on our Denim Jackets, showing my age here! I actually saw a RRunner on the Desert floor Twice, very interesting museum, sry I missed it when I visited DV back in 1991! Good stuff!,
Hey there WH Adventures, I've been visiting ancient walls all over the Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. These walls are super ancient. Older than Sage Wall.
Thank you so much for sharing this awesome video sis wonderhussy I love learning about those Mammoth bones and stuff and all that history I love it anyways have a great day and be safe have fun in the sun sincerely Suszie❤❤❤
A mastodon a camel and a wolf ...walk into a sand bar..... back when I took geology at sanbernardino valley college in the mid 1970's I went with a group of fellow students and our professor to death valley for a feild trip. fun class teacher was awesome. You might say the geologist is the one that finds the area and the archeologist does the examination of the findings so in a way they work together usually both are involved.
... geologist hanging around death valley reminds of when I was but a wee child playing in the sand box, you know, the one where all the local cats hangout, and anyways some people just never outgrew it...oh I'm just having fun,,, good show wonderhussy..
As usual, you never disappoint - as a matter of fact, I would have probably paid more attention to my history classes if the teacher had your presentation skills - love that you research each place and fill in any gaps with a story. You're the best, gurl - we love ya and are already anticipating your (our lol) next adventure!!! 😁💖💨
I met John in July 2019, he was so helpful and nice, suggesting ideas and routes to see. I was so impressed with him that I sent him a thank you card when I got home to Colorado.
I'm not sure why I thought of this, but I think Sarah would make a very popular High School Teacher. I think it may be a combination of the educational nature of some of her videos, a vivacious personality, and good looks. I wonder if she's ever thought about going into teaching. Great video, Sarah. Thanks.
@@jnielsen1956 I think that's a splendid idea. But to avoid any issues use a list of videos parents are unlikely to get upset about. She never crosses the line IMHO, but let's face it, some parents are more sensitive than others. Might want to keep her UA-cam moniker on the DL too.
You live in such a cool area! I would love to live in the mud hill! I have plant allergies and live in a lush area and when I see this I am like, so envious of that spore free, pollen free, ultra sanitized air. Do not take it for granted. I probably would not need to take Nasacourt if I lived in a desert somewhere. It is allergy sufferers utopia for sure. I have never been allergic to mudhills.
WH you are beautiful in many ways. A bit rough around the edges. Yet genuine and sincere. This episode was interesting and you continue to bring viewers the desert wonders rarely visited by the masses. Does it mean you once again have the 4 Runner going again?
S.J. another awesome video, your doing a super duper job of those ancient names, as far as I'm concern as the only thing I could offer is the difference between an alligator and a crocodile and to that point my only facts are "one comes later and the other in awhile" so I'm really impressed!
I love watching your videos because it allows me to see areas in California that I will probably never see in person. I am a native Californian, born in Chico, CA . While having travelled to many places in this state, there is still so much to see. Thank you for the opportunity to sit in the comfort of my home & enjoy the videos & information that you have researched. BTW, true Northern Californians do not care for anyplace being referred to as Nor Cal that is south of the Chico/Fort Bragg/ Quincy area. We consider that to be Central Cal. Keep up the good work. I will be looking forward to new videos while also catching up on the older ones. Myrna
Randall Carlson's analysis of how the ice age ended with the younger dryas impact events is really cool, sheds some light on a lot of the geology in north America
He’s an interesting character and has definitely spent some significant time on exploring the continent. But I prefer to watch the videos that Professor Nick Zentner has produced for years now. He has a solid background in geology and is an excellent science communicator. If you’re curious about the geology of the Pacific Northwest, or volcanoes, he has created some great videos.
Somewhere in Connecticut, there’s some dinosaur footprints. A shed was constructed over them, and my 5th grade science class took a field trip, back in 1987.
Shoshone is one of my favorite places down in your country. My two sons and I are going to be down there in the first week of July and I hope we run into you somewhere along the way so I can say hi and admire your beauty up close. 8-). Whenever I pass through Shoshone I always stop at the store and buy some crystals for a couple of my lady friends up here who are all into that crystal power mumbo jumbo. They get ecstatic over them. As for me, I figure, whatever gets you through the night.
Lol! My girlfriend is jealous of you wonderhussy. I always watch your videos and she's like What is that! Who are you listening to! And I'm like it's WONDERHUSSY!
There are a lot of UA-cam travelers documenting their adventures, but you Sarah Jane are the most proffessional, polished and engaging UA-camr out there. ❤❤
This is true, I've been watching her for years now
Totally agree. I thought Hewell Howser was good. Which he Really was. Wonderhussy dives deeper. I really enjoy her. ❤❤❤
John was wise to let you record in the museum. It’s free advertising once you put the vlog up. 👍🏻
Really a great fun visit to the Shoshone Museum. If you enjoyed Sarah Jane’s tour consider stopping and joining the museum association. The gift shop and museum are free to visit. I love how you dedicate your stardom to help the local economies in Inyo County with your content. Keep it up!

Cool museum, it’s on my list now.
My Grandfather dug up some Mastodon Bones in the Scotts MI and Vicksburg MI area.. He donated most of them to the Kalamazoo Museaum
Good video.
You are a doll and your friends are fabulous!

The braids are a new look for you. Nice! Must be part of the Indiana Jane look.

Thanks for another excellent video. Out in the middle of nowhere is the best place to be.
Mastodon is a heavy metal band…😂 Love your videos and keep up the good work.✌️

Thanks Wonderhussy for sharing Shoshone with us. Right down to the bare bones. Keep cool Sarah Jane.

How cool! I love little quirky museums like that. Will definitely swing by when doing Death Valley next time.
Another *GREAT* video, Ms. Wonderhussy!! The archaeologist outfit was a brilliant touch, too!
Sandy here: great video, and thanks for taking us along. Some day I may even get to see this myself.
Stay safe and be well, Sandy and Ruth
You are definately a credit to humanity
As a retired geologist, thank you for being a student of Geology.
Sarah I will definitely put this place on my bucket list, I love going to places like this. 👍❤️🇺🇸
THANKS!
That was very interesting, I love museums and that one was very cooool, thanks WH!

Great backyard, Sarah! Yes, absolutely fascinating history there, well told! Thank you.
People think the horse is not native to the Americas but it is as shown with those bones. Loved the tour.
Good point about horses here in Cali.

Hello from Colorado
Thank you for taking all of us with you. You rock. Blessings
Great content very interesting you're still the best thanks for the enlightening great job wonderhussy
Looks like your shocks are good to go. Can’t wait to see the further adventures of Wonderhussy ❤❤❤
I met John in July 2019, he was so helpful and nice, suggesting ideas and routes to see. I was so impressed with him that I sent him a thank you card when I got home to Colorado.
The cutest little Archeologist i ever laid eyes on , Stay safe little One 😘👍

I'm sure the boys would like that idea also.
The phrase "Hot for teacher" comes to mind.

I love it when you do videos like this! History is important to remember, and I really enjoyed the museum tour.
Hi WH. Looks like you spooked a deer or some sort of herd animal @10:03. Your vids just keep getting better. :)
Jackrabbit
Love 💕 From India 🇮🇳🤩
sitting at home with a tummy ache and a fever but your video made me feel a bit better - don't feel like sitting in emergency for hours on end 🤒

Very Cool!
I was just there visiting from Nebraska on the 6th and 10th. I spoke with the same nice gentleman at the museum as well!
Cool video. Thanks!
PS. I spotted a jackalope at 10:03
Your videos are always interesting and informative.🦅🇺🇸🦅
Happy to have learned something today. Huggzz from Kentucky Sarah
That was so cool! thank you hussy!👍🇺🇸
Have visited this place many times. Very cool.
Thanks Sarah for sharing this museum for us. It was very informative and interesting to hear about it. Hope you have a great weekend.
WH you are beautiful in many ways. A bit rough around the edges. Yet genuine and sincere. This episode was interesting and you continue to bring viewers the desert wonders rarely visited by the masses. Does it mean you once again have the 4 Runner going again?
Thank you once again Wonderhussy for bringing Beautiful Tecopa to us!❤
LOVE your COstume!!!
Fascinating! I really want to make a tour this winter to all your surrounding Interest areas! ❤

Wicked cool I like stuff like that you can see dinosaur footprints out in Weston Mass makes you realize we've only been here for a blink of an eye
That was great! I’ve been through Shoshone a couple of times but never stopped. Now I have to stop there. 🥰
you are doing fine on how to pronounce these various names. This video is FABULOUS !
How does she do it again and again, keeping it interesting and entertaining. Thank you Wonderhussy.
You have such an addictive presentation style!
You're looking good today in khaki . Hope your are on your way traveling. Keep COOL 😎 🇫🇮🇺🇸

It's unbelievable how you keep my attention. Thank you for all your vids. I look forward to Wednesday nights.
You are looking especially good in your "geologist outfit". I love the history that you provide in your video's. Keep up the great work.❤👍
Sarah thanks for the awsome tour of the museum and history of the area !!!
Great job
Sarah,
Thank you, that's was so interesting.
It's "only" 900 miles from my home:)
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Thank you. Very interesting history. Get a kick out of that outfit everytime you wear it !
We love you, long time, thanks Wonderhussy.
These bones are pretty cool, but those ancient footprints really tell a story! Great episode Wonderhussy! You have a mighty interesting 'backyard' ;-)
Awesome video overview. Thanks for taking us on a field trip👍👍
Love the pigtails and new shades. Oh, the desert and footprints look good too...

That was excellent Sarah, so interesting; thanks for your excellent videos; the Queen of the middle of nowhere does it again😎🤣🤩⭐️⭐️
Lol! My girlfriend is jealous of you wonderhussy. I always watch your videos and she's like What is that! Who are you listening to! And I'm like it's WONDERHUSSY!
Wow very informative!
Good stuff as always
You bring such bright light to a dreary day. Many thanks
You’re fun, Sarah Jane!
God bless you!
Wonderhussy always leaves the best bones.
It's a nice '37 Chevy there at the museum. Drop in a 283 with a Powerglide, add tires and brakes and drive it to the beach.
Thanks for letting me tag along!
Maybe do a series of videos on the women of Death Valley, if you haven't already?
Absolutely Fascinating !!! Love Love Love your vids Ms. Wonderhussy !!!
Little bit of everything in there
