Love a good trail dog 🙂 My dog Rhuraidh (red king) goes in front of us though 😂 We stopped taking him as he’s not really built for long days out on the bikes but he loved it ❤️
It's amazing what they can do, just easing Red back into it as he's not been out with the bikes since before lockdown, but he never seems to want to stop! Had a few dodgy situations with him trying to get in front too when we first introduced him to it mind 😂
Enjoyed the vid mate. Those trails look great! Are you running Magura MT5 brakes? That's what I use but I recently upgraded the levers to the single finger HC lever and it's quite a big improvement IMO.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah they're MT5s-ish. The front is an MT5 but the back is a Shimano XTR caliper with an MT4 lever. The Magura calipers are too wide for how my frame is designed annoyingly. I find the Magura levers to have a bit more bite which I like and with a bit of bleeding managed to get both brakes feeling identical. Thanks for the heads up on those one finger levers though, I'll check those out as the two finger ones are definitely a bit bulky!
Awesome ride. I was in the lakes last week and had plans to try whinlatter forest (after seeing your video on it) but it was so rainy that I thought the trails wouldn't be good. Too bad I'm from London so I don't know when I will have another change to try MTB. By the way, what mic do you use with the gopro?
The trail centre stuff at Whinlatter is pretty good in the wet, it's usually my go to if the weather is awful but I still just fancy a quick ride. Maybe not ideal for your first try though haha you don't want to end up not enjoying it! I just use the GoPro audio 99% of the time, with a wind cover around the GoPro to cut down on wind noise. Occasionally I'll use a Zoom H1 recorder and Rode Smartlav + but only if it's really windy!
Depends on the riding you're looking at doing, there's plenty of variety so you'd not be short of rideable trails. I imagine it wouldn't be so suitable for the really technical descents up in the mountains or the off-piste enduro trails though 👍
Super mellow edit mate. Looks like you are getting to know those trails for sure. The riding looked on point 👌
Cheers mate, was really enjoying the chilled out editing while I was putting it together! Got to get you down to The Lakes next 👍
I love it! I suggest that you could have a rear cam, just put it in the seat post so we can see your dog chasing you☺️
Glad to have him back!
Love them been flying down it for year's
Great vide mate. 👊 to the trail fairies! Top lads. Cant wait to get back myself very soon!
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed 👍

Superb edit. You previously mentioned entering a race......Graythwaite is on!! PMBAs finest?? Thought I'd just leave this here. ;-)

Have you ever ridden bow hill trails?, it’s not the biggest climb and the trails are mint. Love the vids 🤙🏽
I can't say I have, I've seen a few videos of them though. Might have to check them out next time I'm up that way! Cheers 👍

Opinion on using a carrera Vulcan in the lake district for mountain biking?
