- DANGEROUS Moments at the NÜRBURGRING! Aggressive Drivers, Collisions & Unsafe Driving Nordschleife
This video represents some of the most common dangerous situations at the Nürburgring, like:
Standing at dangerous places on track
Overtaking on the wrong side (during TF)
Ignoring yellow flags
Collisions (VLN / RCN footage)
Aggressive Driving
Keep in mind that it is illegal to overtake on the right during Touristenfahrten.
There is no trophy at the end of a TF lap, so there is no need for laprecord attempts.
Always be aware about other (slower or less experienced) drivers around you. (Bikers, check your mirrors too!)
If your car breaks down or if you crash, make sure to get behind the safety barrier as soon as possible.
If it is not safe to get out of the car, stay in the car until the marshals arrive.

Every track day I went to, rule no 1 was to never overtake in corners. Some don't understand that this is not a race, just trackday experience.
overtaking in a curve is stupid in general.
Passing in the bends is dumb dumb universally
At least the track should be split into boomer and non-boomer sessions.
@@steveo20007 How about split between hot hatch wannabees and real cars.

Blows my mind how aggressively some of those cars were driving around the motorcycles.
The overtake at 3:25 was a TRULY bad example of how not to do it.

Dumb, but brave.
Of course, he had sunglasses on

Probably the same guy who decided to take a passenger on the back of his motorcycle. Lol. Both very very brave. With a hint of reckless.
Zero F*** Given!
Interesting how the impatience and aggressiveness displayed here on the track in a non-racing situation is so similar to behaviors seen every day by drivers on public roads.
Yeah, goes both ways though, with slower drivers not giving way to quicker people. It's like my daily commute where people just sit in the left lane (passing lane).
Well these are every day drivers you are seeing so not really a surprise.
this is a public toll-road for most of the year.
Same goes for the absolute incompetence, deliberate negligence, total disregard for others and inability to monitor what goes on behind you...but to a far larger extent and more problematic than anything displayed by the faster drivers who are usually far more cognisant of the rules, have spent often hundreds more hours learning the skills and etiquette of the track, etc. Just like in normal road traffic: ignorant, deliberately negligent and lazy people dawdling about not aware of their surroundings and not having a clue what they're doing yet then road-raging at the conscientious and skilful people they've impeded.
I saw hardly any "impatience" at all in this video, only absolute incompetence and total disregard for the rules by the slower vehicles.

"have spent often hundreds more hours learning the skills and etiquette of the track"
Passing a car that isn't clearly signaling to the side begs to differ, lol.
99% of these fuckers are at fault.
When you pass, you have pretty much full responsibility to do it safely, regardless of how frustrated you are.
you can tell by the type of cars on track, who is taking their drive more seriously. some people are just there to experience the ring, and others are there seemingly to "prove" something. i can see why timers and cameras are not allowed, but it seems like those it stops still drive the same. i just feel sorry for the few, that are caught up in someone elses mistakes. its not a race, so a lot of people need to take it more seriously and understand there wont be racing etiquette on a open day for the tourists.
All my life i was told “pick a line and stick to it” (motocross racing) and the same applies here, you can totally tell who is there to test their skill and who is there to show off
@@zackniner during tourist drives its not racetrack. it is one way 2 lane tollroad mostly without speedlimits, where common traffic laws apply... is some faster traffic behind you? do not block, stay right and let them pass. passing allowed only on left side.
@@derimmor i’m aware, i have driven at the nürburgring. But despite your comment quite a lot of those drivers are racing professionally…. Also despite it being technically a Toll road, it is still a racetrack.
@@zackniner I completely agree but half of the cases would not happen if the much slower drivers would keep to the right and stop blocking traffic, you learn the rules so please stop ignoring it the moment you enter the track. Like always with Porsche fangirls who think they are the best/king on everything for no reason when it's false in every way possible...
And I love Porsche, but some fans are just toxic + arrogant criticizing all the others brand when they didn't see themselve on a mirror.
@@RiasGremoryS54 This is so true... Where are my respected Porsche fans at !
And Porsche driver wanted to pass from the right. So bizarre.
What are you guys even talking about? Did you even see the part from 0:26 until 0:32 ?!
The Skoda guy was sitting on the left side driving slowly the whole time before. There was more than enough time to let the Porsche pass on that long straight but he didn't at all "try so hard to do the right thing and let the Porsche pass", not the slightest bit.
Plus we don't even know for how long that went on before they entered the camera area. Possibly the Skoda was blocking the Porsche for many kilometers.
While what the Porsche driver did certainly wasn't ok, we also don't have any ground to assume that it was unjustified either. It's not like he just arrived behind the car within view range. He was already sitting behind him since we saw them.

the BMW driver has no acceleration to overtake ... he tried to cut on the inner line as if he has twice the acceleration but he only has power to keep up ... it was the BMW driver being a knob head passing on the inside across the main line like that.
A bmw blinking
track day fools
The BMW driver almost killing the 2 people on a motorcycle at 3:25 needs to be fined and stripped of any access to the Ring for the rest of his life.
That's absolutely criminal driving.
His argument would be that he had the outside lane and the bike came across into his path. You can see it both ways, but the BMW driver should have been a lot more cautious approaching the bike from the rear, but instead was focussed on his lap time. The biker was understandably shaken afterwards, and put himself in more danger by staying left & checking his bike over - while there's a big queue of fast cars behind.
@@brendanfleming6584 bikes can’t change trajectories as easily as cars .The bmw is behind, he has to be carful when he overtake. It’s an open toll road, not a full fledge race track. The bmw deserves to be banned and his ass kicked.

Anyone know the story of why that Porsche in the end was parked in the middle of the corner instead of pulling over somewhere less dangerous? I feel like even if the car wasn't working he could have still coasted to somewhere safer to park.
Well we can tell it was an engine failure, there's smoke coming out the back. My guess is he lost the engine when he was at his slowest right before he started accelerating in the corner so he didn't have very much distance before he stopped, and he then didn't have the presence of mind to pull over before the car came to a stop.
His navigation system to told him he has reached his destination. Or maybe the taxi meter came up to the maximum amount the customer could pay at that exact, precise location.
You’re right. If he had the momentum to make it all the way through the first turn of the chicane, he should’ve just gone straight off onto the grass instead of taking the turn at all. Would’ve been so much safer and more convenient for everyone involved.
Some people forget that this isn't a race they are participating. This is driving on public road.
Be patient when overtaking, jeez. This kinda hurts to watch.
ps: great video as always :)
Racers need to be more pacient and tourists should pay attention to the mirrors at all times, they are chilling but they're not alone on the track. If everyone follow the rules, it's a good experience for everybody.
True but the people that don't go for fast times could also use their mirrors from time to time. 90% of them use the mirrors so rarely that they wouldn't notice if you would take them off the car.
a couple of them were races
so you excuse piss poor driving because that how you drive on the road?
People not going for fast laps should learn to stick to the right. Even if there's a left turn you wouldn't suddenly swing left cutting across an entire motorway when driving normally, so why are they doing it on the track? As always the ones driving fast catch flak for other people's mistakes.
Not saying there aren't idiots driving way too aggressively and harassing people who are actually driving correctly, but the blame goes both ways.

8:17 Race Taxi. Car left sitting on probably the most dangerous corner, but they take their time getting out, then have a gentle walk to a position of safety. Surely those "professional" drivers must have more of a clue than most about the correct thing to do. This isn't it.
I've done a few laps here; the number of people who drive it & stay left with their indicator on is very frustrating. Yes, undertaking them on the right is what they want you to do, but it's also illegal & puts you in danger (Rechts dabei ist voll daneben & all that).
I also ride a bike. The Nordschleife is no place for bikes.

@Tony Hancock Intelligence, eh...
Much safer to stay in the car than to get out during traffic. Again it’s much safer to slower walk away with eye and ear on the road leading up to the stranded vehicle. Walking down track from it, because if another accident occurs the vehicle is in place as a barrier for you.
Yes they were in a very dangerous situation, but they handled it nearly as safely as possible. As far as you can tell from this footage anyway.
These types of drivers are the same ones that you encounter on public roads. Some are ignorant to their surroundings, and some are outright bullies. Rarely you encounter considerate and less temperamental drivers nowadays.
It is a racetrack that least wants to run and overtake cars and you see that someone is slow, you overtake him but the minimum slow car that runs to one side if he is walking.

As a motorcycle rider I don’t think motorcycles and cars should be allowed on the ring at the same time, pretty much every motorcycles mirrors are useless and on the road we just do shoulder checks, which you can’t really do while hanging off your bike, also bikes are significantly slower than cars around a corner with a professional rider let alone 90% of motorcycle riders who don’t know how to ride fast for their life in anything other than a straight line. it is extremely dangerous on the ring and I have yet to see a safe motorcycle pass on the ring because they never know when someone is behind.

Tesla at 5:23 wasn't even side by side in the exit, but feels entitled to overtake while off track? has he ever raced before? I know it's not full racing, but what a reckless thing to do to try and squeeze in the road from off track in that situation :\
I don't think it's reckless, both are to blame: the Tesla was in a bit too much of a hurry and the one in the Renault should have driven further inside and looked in the side mirror/rear view mirror because he's not alone on the track....
WTF... that Renault was horrible driver... you need to look around you!
@@itshappening100 I love that with the Tesla literally on their door, they still didn't notice and move over!
But then again, if they were capable of observing, they would have moved to the right like the car ahead of them when they saw a faster car approaching. :)
The Renault driver wasn't even looking anywhere other than the car to the left, but the Tesla driver should have used "experience" to not try to make that move right there. These are not race car drivers in the middle of an event. They're both pretty lousy.
i only saw the video just to see what the wanker with the tesla was doing he needs to learn whow to drive
I can’t imagine there were no yellow flags for the last one. So why is barely anyone slowing down?
Besides are Yaris GR’s that attractive to idiots?
People seem to forget that the Nürburgring isn't a racetrack - it's a toll road (void of speed limits), and regular road rules apply. That means, no dangerous driving, no overtaking on the right, etc.
I thought that the GR was so good the drivers wouldn’t have to drive like this to prove it.

I'm not sure but isn't it a slick? Aren't they're forbidden?
@@PKayScho It is a slick tire, but I think they are permitted in track racing.
They're not allowed on tarmac rally, at least without treads.
Too much ego leads to a complete shit show. There will always be those drivers that don't want anybody to pass them even if they are slow. If there is car behind you, YOU ARE SLOW. Accept it. Take it like a man. Nice cars, nice track, it's the drivers who are the shit show.
Which one of the ones that tried to prove something was you? Don't say you were one driving 911.
Yeah, if you're so fast let me pass and then catch back up.
I get this, but what you need to have in your mind is that if you just fly up behind somebody and they're committed to a corner, they might not be capable of just diving out of the way. This is a track for all, not just racers, give them a few seconds to safely move and then you can get mad. No point trying to drag a family around across a race track mid-corner to then lose control and smash up everything around you.
Real mix of ignorance and arrogance which unfortunately puts people off visiting this amazing place. Dont let the few ruin what in the most part is a great experience. Great quality vid !
Ignorance is the mother of arrogance
Is there some sort of penalty for the overly aggressive and/or dangerous drivers?
If they cause an accident, yes, the Police come along & you get fined (or summoned). If they don't, maybe another driver or a marshall will have a word with them, but in that case there's usually no penalty. I've seen someone spray gravel all over the track at Aremberg, get reported to & fined by the police, but that's really rare. That person did something else stupid on their lap, so the police were involved anyhow.
@@brendanfleming6584 its a race track so accidents are inevitable, but if youre being blatantly stupid or reckless i think its best they keep you off the track for a long while

@@xyz-je2wx a toll road with no speed limits and apexes on every corner, sure sounds like a race track to me
@@bluestraw4060 Technically, yes, legally, debatable.
Besides regular race events, it is treated as a public road. That's why you are only allowed to drive there if you have a drivers license, your car needs to be street legal, you aren't allowed to overtake on the right, you aren't allowed to go above the speed limit (which you can technically be fined for by the police), etc.
This requires so much brain processing to know where you are on the track, and where everyone else is. Truly some good driving was displayed in this video to avoid some accidents, but some alas are a result of aggression. I can only hope to make it there one day.
Thing is too that most of these people have no race experience so that situational awareness doesn’t exist. Most will just totally not notice other cars around them.

I think you can only pass cars on the left when the circuit is open, so all the people trying to pass on the right are actually very dangerous.
If the line is on the far right of the circuit it's not the slower driver's fault, you have to wait to be able to pass on the left.

Actually they know what they're getting into when they pay... that includes abiding by the rules. If your driving casually & choose not to yield to faster drivers you're gonna get people pissed off. Some of them are clueless and cok block people for several turns..
@@oldcrook510 It's really annoying to experience tbh, it's safer to let the more experienced overtake than it is to cause a pile up because you won't let anybody faster than you pass. In go-karting, I remember drivers driving at a snails pace following the worst line possible, and they don't even get out of the way for everybody else. Makes you why wonder why they are there in the first place.. Obviously a difference between that and the Nurburgring but I imagine the etiquette and rules are similar.

Despite the rest of the madness in this video, I'm pretty sure one of the core rules is "overtake on the left only" ?
I think the driver of the blue-white car at 3:50 needs to be reminded of that. I hope he got to pay for the damage to the green car.

I would go as far as to say the experienced drivers(who seem to be doing most of the aggressive driving) are setting a bad example, if you can tell someone doesn't really know what they are doing, slow pace, and wait for your moment to pass safely, all this unnecessary aggression just causes accidents
Experienced drivers don't usually drive fast, they have got that out of their system years ago.

This really puts me off wanting to go to the ring. So many idiots here that don’t seem to realise it’s not a race track. You have to respect there are inexperienced people on the ring. By not showing them respect you put everyone else at risk, experienced and inexperienced alike. This is coming from someone who’s done many track days over the years. I’d prefer to keep my car on a track where *most* people have good track etiquette.

My mate also went around the track in a ferrari F8, with Dale driving like an absolute madlad (the deductible on that shit is 30k, no way I could ever afford to put that on my credit card).
I believe the absolute top speed I achieved where somewhere around 200 kph, but I was so busy checking my mirrors and figuring out where the track went, I didn't have time to look at the speedometer. Mostly I was moving about at a snails pace at 140-160kph and getting passed by everything. Big hit to my ego, yet such a fun experience.
@@jamesw.6931 We initially went down from Norway to give my friends car a whirl. A bmw m2 competition. But on our way down there we got to thinking about what would happen if we wrecked the car on a track, and whether or not insurance would cover it. Btw, to answer that question, during those touristenfahrten (when the track is open to the public) the track is considered a normal road and the insurance is just as valid as when you're driving on the autobahn.
Despite this, I'd still recommend you give a rental a whirl around the track the first few times.
I'm very comfortable driving at high speeds (no speed limits on the autobahn, we were hitting speeds in excess of 220 kph regularly, we at some points hit ~250kph), but driving on a track is something completely different.
Get to know the dips and apexes before you take out that monster of a car you have, you want to know where the car will lose grip and where you can step on it. Especially on a technical track like Nurburgring, there are so many blind corners, jumps and technical parts there are plenty of chances to wreck if you're not familiar.
Be safe out there, and enjoy that beast of a car you've got. But don't take any chances with it, until you're ready.
Oh ja, my Porker is sooo special, I'll park it in the track, not on the grass, not somewhere safe.
Come on you dummox, just roll down the hill a little bit and it'll be safer AFTER the turn!
I loved all the gt3 cars and how regulations have made them look bright
Simple rules to keep urself safe
1. Dont overtake in corners
2. Overtake from only the leftside
3. Let the idiot wannabe go
4. Dont get angry
5. Know ur limits
If you're too poor to rent out the entire track for a day, then start acting like it. It's a SHARED track. You don't own it. These drivers need to humble themselves.
Wow.. alot of people unaware of what's going on behind them.. especially the bikes I'm noticing..
0:30 so silly this 964 driver, there are better ways to save fuel other than slipstreaming
8:21 this is literally the first time I’ve seen a Porsche break down. Very rare sight.
Look at a cayman after 90k miles. You'll see it alot
Never heard of the IMS bearing, I guess...😉
Had to wait behind a Carrera melting it's engine block in traffic once...
@Stein Mauer no? Porsche isn't even in the top 10
@Stein Mauer the 2021 Consumer Reports Auto Reliability survey ranks Porsche 13th. behind Lexus, Mazda, Toyota, Infiniti, Buick, Honda, Subaru, Acura, Nissan, Mini, Hyundai and Chrysler.
So many people driving like they are the only people on the track and then wondering why everyone around them is so aggressive. Imagine these people in traffic.
4:12 I would have waited for the guy to step closer and then taken a full swing.
And thats why you aren't allowed in a racecar

Priceless!
I get that aggressive drivers suck when you're just trying to have fun but they shouldn't be allowing such different classes of vehicles on the track at the same time. 911's are clearly going to be faster/have more aggressive lines than an SUV and there definitely shouldn't be cars and motorcycles on the track at the same time, that's just begging for an accident.
5:30 - Wooooooow, agressive sound (White car) 😂😂😂
that green baldy beamer dude is a aggressive lunatic...he should be banned...
and I wouldnt drive my motorcycle on there with all these idiots driving around... no way
I like how some people are going slow and still feel they need to utilize the curbs.
EXACTLY! I was thinking Just hold the curb they're at and all would be fine. If on outside, stay there. Inside? stay there. All congestion is gone in a split second and they'd be back to enjoying their track experience.
That’s not how it’s works, you need to wait for a straight to overtake safely.
@@obamium4265 Of course, that’s why slower traffic holding their lines would make passing on th3 straights easier….
@@tonycrabtree3416 it doesn’t matter if they hold their lines or not because you simply don’t overtake on curbs at te ring, look at the two Beamers.
@@obamium4265 Dude, if they hold their lines, the quicker cars can get around them sooner when it straightens out. What is so hard to understand about this?
6:22 how dumb can he be? I can’t believe I saw this.

He's a young guy, so he's immortal!
3:49 "If you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver"
🤣🤣🤣🤣👌🏻👍🏻
3:49 whos at fault?
3:51-4:32 car 593 actually closed the corner on 55.
6:21-6:31 are you that serious? What was you thinking?
I can't see it on mobile but IMO the green car needs a reality check. In no world was he racing right.
This corner is special if you dont take from the inside you will crash in the next one. The green car took a wide lane but there were no room for two cars. For me it’s the blue one fault because he sort of dive bombed, he could see that ther were no room
Were they in the same class or is this a lapping? Never seen someone try to overtake an opponent into Wehrseifen.
BULLSHIT. This is NOT A RACE. The green car had the right of way and the other car dive-bombed into him into the corner. The green car is NOT at fault. If this was a race, then yes but this is not a race. It's an open track day.
@@sardinealhuile4496 You are correct, the blue car did a dive-bomb and this is not a race, its a track day. On a track day, the car behind is responsible to pass SAFELY, not dive-bomb into a corner.
The more videos I see the less appealing it is. All these videos are just one corner, it must happen all the time, whole place seems a place to wreck your car. Nothing would tempt me there.
There's a project community for a specific type of vehicle called cyclekarts. They have rules for what motor you can use, what the frame can look like, etc. You build it yourself and drive on a track for fun. No competitive racing, no urgency to go fast. Everyone who races on this track who demonstrate bad driving should be required to build and drive in a cyclekart for a determined time based on how frequent their bad driving is on the track.
If these guys want to race and make time they should rent the track for a determined number of laps or amount of time for themselves.
I saw those just the other day. They're brilliant! They look like great fun.
Some people are just too stupid to know the difference between “touristenfahrt” and trackdays.
I would love to go one day but this puts me right off 😂😂😂 some outrageous driving from people who seemingly have a point to prove 🤷🏻♂️
Stay on the right side. Almost every single incident in this video is caused by slow drivers on the left or slow drivers crossing lanes to corner.
It is a racetrack that least wants to run and overtake cars and you see that someone is slow, you overtake him but the minimum slow car that runs to one side if he is walking.
I'm not trying to be rude. If this puts you off then this isn't the place for you. It is a track and competitiveness is the very nature of the place.
@@Jakeski87 It's this kind of thinking that creates a lot of the issues you see in these videos during tourist days - it's not a track and it's not a competition.
@@AkinaGhost People can say that till they're blue in the face, yet that doesn't change it's nature. Please don't confuse the fun, safe and exciting marketing with a reasoning for a wholesome experience.
We all know why we're drawn to that location. In fact if it wasn't for that places history, people most likely would not line up to waste their petrol.
Again, you can regurgitate the marketing, but don't act surprised when you find fierce competitiveness there. To deny that is to deny the reason for it's being.
To this day I still can’t believe there’s a track we’re motorcycles and cars race together. Ridiculous
2:19 No one's going fast enough to call it dangerous! 😅

I have a question, why did you buy the ugliest car ever made?
@@StanGuru may I point you towards a Nissan cube or Pontiac Aztek😆. I think that's kinda harsh for "Nugget" that's what my 7y/o daughter named her. It's not sexy or sporty but I wouldn't say it's ugly at all. I bought it because it's great on fuel, loaded with options, tow hitch self parking ect..... but I've had alot of fun on the track with it and my best BTG is 9:04 with NS2R'S on her. What do you drive 🚗, because after harsh criticism of nugget you'd better have a 992 or a twingo atleast🤟👍😂
@@StanGuru ahhh Stan cmon man. My daughter loves Mini's and there are some Great looking coops out there. But the dashboard in all of them are ridiculous. I've driven them before and like them but "ugly" dash and instrument cluster is lacking 😑. So now we're even👍🏁
bruh why do people keep trying to overtake on the right, the nr1 rule on the ring is no overtaking on the right and/or in corners, it's a public toll road, not a closed circuit
Happy new year to your and your families guys! ^_____^
I clearly hope some of these morons are banned!
And to everyone else, be safe and drive safe. No extra meter or kilometer is worth your life or someone else's.
You should NOT overtake from the right, its sad to see people ruining the ride because they stick on to the left or pay no attention that there's a faster car behind and they should let them pass
