Hey James, thanks man, this was a fun one 🙂 Your right, it is just out of the rotor. It impresses me too, amazing machine. I always think of where my wing is in relation to rotor, flying terrain or following people. But your margin is getting small when your considering where your wing is and not your body, but it's interesting to feel out, little by little.
How come it works to go behind the dune like that? Is it that the dune is so low the kite is still sitting higher than the zone where the wind turns down? I so want to be able to do this.
Yeh. My wing is still in the lift band. And the Mo having the penetration it does I can get quite far back and still make it out. It blows me away what positions I can put it in and get out of, so much so you might here me laugh out loud at times.
I was just looking at the coastline of Ireland on maps the other day, looks like you have some great terrain. Is the summer your flying season? Are there better months than others? All details of the conditions are in the description, but, Wing - Flare Moustache 18 Wind - 22-26 knots TOW - 78 kg Ridge height - 1-2 metres
@@CoreySymes We do have some spectacular coastline (and also some beautiful and remote mountain ranges), but are cursed with weather that's unpredictable at best, and predictably terrible at worst. Summer is definitely the best time of year, temperatures rarely climb into the 30s and we usual get several weeks at a time of decent flying weather. We see a lot of rain during the other 3 seasons so it's really a matter of seizing the opportunities when they come. Prevailing wind here is SW so west coast is probably your best bet if you're coming to visit (though I do most of my flying on the north coast). Phenomenal video btw, it's incredible what the mustache can do in the right hands!
Hey Joe. Thanks mate! Good question. Depends on a few things really. Sites you would be learning on, sport history/skills and the instructor or mentor you have around.
Oi matey get them to reinforce the wingtips with some heavier fabric for ya tip drags etc etc ala kite scuff pads if ya want theres a few gliders down stairs we could frankenstein some on or just chop off my pi3 winglets and slide em on with a little sellys kwik grip spray 😂
behind the dune was mindblowing ! sick video.
Yeh mate, what a spin out hey. It makes me laugh
Off the charts.............. session!

Thanks man!
Love this!!!
Thanks for letting me know Scott
That little laugh 😂 so good!
😅
Awesome….it appears that you’re wing is above the rotor when flying behind the dunes… that aspect really impressed me!

Quite similar to what we have here in Ireland, what’s the wind speed and weight load of you atm

DUDE!!! This is awsome, are Mustache's fine for a first Wing or is it more advanced.
Hey Joe.
Thanks mate!

Answers is yes! Sadly! But I’m putting the work in to get one, one day!
top !!!!
Thanks mate!

The wing tips do have different fabric. But similar pads to a tube kite might help hey 😂
The real challenge here is to keep your havaianas on 🤣
😂😂
