I am Shia, and I am not an scholar, but I do not agree with the commentary of the aya as no where in the translation it says one can enter temporary marriage for a certain time period. The translation just reads who one can and cannot marry and one should enter marriage and prior to that certain requirements such as dowry needs to be fulfilled, with an intention to be chaste and not unlawful sexual act. Again I am not an scholar but clearly Quran 24:33 contradicts with the commentary version of the aya expanding on temporary marriage. The commentators have a myriad of difference of opinions on some of the ayas. This is evidenced by the fact that many Sahabah continued to allow mut'ah after the Prophet's (a) death, for example, Ibn Abbas.

@@Anarchist369 this is true, but was only for Khaybar. It was allowed again after Khaybar, then forbidden again during the Fat-h of Makkah. Then it was allowed after that. This is evidenced by the fact that many Sahabah continued to allow mut'ah after the Prophet's (a) death, for example, Ibn Abbas.
