Please don't do this. There is a very big distinction between the word dislike and hate. Each word is characterized by the emotion it is fueled with. There is NO "hatred" here. There are many people that do not believe she did Amy Justice and there are many people who did not like the film in general and others who did not like her singing. While yes there are others who do, and like it very much. That doesn't mean that those who do not are being hateful. Every one is entitled to their own opinion in this world. A mere disagreement or dislike does not equate to opinion made with disdain. You are entitled to love it and praise it just as the next person is entitled to dislike it.

I could tell as soon as her mouth opened it wasn’t any however she still did an amazing job and it was nice not seeing someone just pretending to sing. Def not every actor has that ability. Even if they think they do lol😊

@This Morning - Marissa Abela is clearly a lovely respectful person and human being. She totally researched everything about Amy Winehouse so as to give her justice in such a film as this representation of her as a person, her life and music. For that reason, Marissa was the perfect actress for this special role. To all those in the comments that are being completely disrespectful to the actress Marissa herself, simply because they are unhappy this film was made at all, be happy and respectful that this calibre of person and talented woman was chosen for this iconic role.

@Woodstock3211: She was incredible in this film. The Grammy speech was spot on! All of Amy’s mannerisms she smashed and moves on stage were haunting to see. I was mesmerised the whole way through. Well done, Marisa!

So many were dissing her before the film even came out and it was horrible to see. She did Amy so much justice and portrayed her so well!
Saw it today. She was superb, simple as that. The subtle little moves while singing, that somewhat awkward dancing Amy did on stage - she was a fabulous singer but one thing she wasn't was a trained dancer - and Marisa caught that brilliantly. As for the singing; Amy Winehouse has a unique and instantly recognisable vocal style and Marisa came very very close at times to capturing that. So much so that, unless you've listened really closely to Amy singing these songs and you've noted all the subtle nuances of her phrasing and delivery you'd be hard pushed at times to tell the difference. An award-worthy performance and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

Exactly! That’s exactly what she needed. Snd all she had was people trying to get rich off of her. No one cared about her well being. Especially her dad. He may think he did, but he was just wanting to get the attention from her as much as he could. You can tell he was wanting everything she was getting from her fame. He still is!

I saw the film yesterday and it was Amazing! There were times were she almost looked identical to Amy and she sounded great. I know this films getting a lot of stick and bad feedback but it’s honestly such a great biopic. I went into this loving Amys music but not know much about her, it was so sad but told beautifully. People saying “oh cast Raye, Lady Gaga instead!” NO ONE will ever beat Amy Winehouse, she was her own person her own voice. I think Marisa did an amazing job at portraying her. Definitely go and watch this film

Amy Winehouse lived so close to where my sister lives in London. She was such a down to earth women. Walked around the streets. Went into the local pubs. Just sad that it ended how it ended. RIP amy rest well forever
She was one of many of the local wineos / junkies (there are still many of them) but she just happened to have a talent.
In some scenes they did a great job of making her look like Amy, i watched the movie on the 17th april it was very enjoyable to watch if you like amys music then defo go watch.

Totally agree. Thought it was a very watchable film with some great performances and musical moments. The framing of Amy's experiences did lack depth and nuance in places, but I think this version tells a specific story, rather than offer a complete introspection

I thought I was going to dislike her because i thought she didn't seem as raw as Amy, but my god she was fab!
Marisa did the best that she could do with what she was given. She doesn’t deserve the hate. If there was any misrepresentation of Amy, it all boils down to the director, producers and writers of the movie for not doing her justice. Marisa still did a fantastic job amidst all of the misdirectictions of the production.
