When you listen to the songs written by the Beatles performed by a great orchestra and choir then you can truly realize the absolute musical genius of the Fab Four. No other band in history has ever reached this level of musical achievement. You can see why they are not only loved...but adored.
That's why that they are at a higher level than any act in music history. No one had so many different types of sounds and songs. Each album was another completely different musical adventure.

It may seem an easy tune to cover up, but it is not so, and the trumpet sound within the original is bloody difficult to re-produce by a classic orchestra
The fact that the Beatles are like the only pop/rock band whose compositions are actually respected and played by an orchestra full of classical - trained musicians, shows how they were so special. The Stones, Zeppelin, The Who, The Beach Boys all are considered great and legendary, but none of them get played in concert by actual classical musicians. Shows how the Beatles stand head and shoulders above all their other ''competitors''. The only pop/rock band to intrude into the hearts of classical musicians, to stand shoulder to shoulder with Mozart and Beethoven. They really were something special and unique.

And George Martin, you forget. He did the orchestration on all, or nearly all, of the Beatles songs. Without him the Beatles would not be the Beatles.

True, but in a few decades there will be a nostalgia for all things Bieber or Snoopdog or Shakira or whatever is popular right now. Their songs will be lauded as classics, and Despacito or Gin and Juice will be played for serious people in gowns and tuxedos.

@@johnnytony593 lol. nope. i guarantee you nobody would remember 99% of shallow "music" of 90s/2000s/2010s. Biber, Drake, Perry, Cyrus, Swift all will be forgotten. It's a foam. And they will disappear like a foam. Beatles were peak of melodic pop music. Since then it's all downhill for mainstream. modern pop doesn't even have melodies anymore in their songs. so what would modern orchestra play there if it's all just electronic sound? Modern songs don't have anything in them worth remembering. So it's very unlikely that next gens will laud biber, perry and the rest of the foam. They will be looked at as part of the shallow period in music of 2010s.
As compared to modern pop songs Beatles' Penny Lane and Something are like classical music.

Too harsh. It is not a marching band where the tap is supposed to be heard by marching soldiers a hundred metres. The drum needs to be softer and subtle, not an alarm clock ticking.

Something was better performed, but the drummer needed to take a leaf from Ringo and stuff a towel in the drum to tone it down/muffle a bit. The Conductor should have known better.
To tell the truth, female voices are a little bit of disillusion for me... The piece is, certainly, performed on a high professional level - except for the drummer... Shame.

How'd you like to be the piccolo trumpet player in a live performance like this? You get exactly one shot at it. Everybody's waiting for the obbligato at 2:04. He gets through it OK but flubs a note at 3:30.
